Schooler Has anyone noticed that the Hulk's pants don't rip? Is it just that his torso gets bigger but his bottom half stays the same, or is it that he just HAPPENS to be wearing spandex purple pants ALL the time? HEH?? eek Well, they do get holes, and the bottoms rip off. He should get one of those suits of unstable molecules, like the Fantastic Four and whoever else have.

Goku's and Vegitto's asses and...chests... twisted Ya know...I used to watch DBZ fights and be all like "CELL RIPE GOKU'S SHIRT OFF!!" or "GO FOR THE VEGITTO'S PANTS BUU!! THE PANTS!!!" Oh, my fangirlish moments...or blonde, I should say. xp ..... my Brolli never wears a shirt. biggrin But yeah. Ever notice just how often Goku's shirt gets blown to pieces duing battles? Yet all the other characters keep most of their clothing intact. 0_o I know! Kinda spicy isn't it? surprised heart I remember during one fight (can't remember exactly which one though) Goku just tore his own shirt off. 0_o Didn't even wait for the bad guy to do it for him. .... aaand, that sounded like a really bad hentai fic. >.> *shuts up* It was the first Vegeta and Goku fight xd heart *cough*Yaoiyaoiyaoiyaoi*cough*

When Trunks fights the Androids in the future along with Gohans' help.
When Android 18 and 17 fight (anytime)
When Bardock fought the 5 "Upper Class Fighters" (They weren't Saiyans but there PL were 2,000 each... Bardocks being 3,200 ((King Vegeta is 4,500 and Vegeta is 4,000 at this time and 12,000 at his max in DBZ the series)) )

My favorite fight in the series would have to be Goku v. Majin Vegeta, no small talk, just right to the a** kicking. There's a lot more to that particular fight than the others, too. Sure, Vegeta's trying to pass himself off as a villain, but there's more than that; all of Vegeta's disappointment, dissatisfaction, and plain old rage at Goku for everything that's happened up until that point heightens the emotional investment for him, and for the viewer.
Plus, there's the side benefit of Vegeta handing Goku his a**... AGAIN.

What is it about Goku that people shy away from? His heart? I just don't understand why that is a reason to dislike him.

Saiyajin-Neko Right now, at this moment, i'm starting to think that i am the ONLY ONE who cheers Goku on in a fight with ol' Veggie. sad To be honest, I don't cheer either on in the fight, because I'll let out a "w00t" at a cool move done by either fighter... I just happen to like Vegeta a bit more overall. And this is not to say I don't like Goku, I'm just a slightly bigger fan of other characters. For some reason I usually tend to gravitate more towards "co-stars" and side characters in a given story over the main ones, it's a habit I have.

I just happen to like Vegeta a bit more overall. And this is not to say I don't like Goku, I'm just a slightly bigger fan of other characters. For some reason I usually tend to gravitate more towards "co-stars" and side characters in a given story over the main ones, it's a habit I have. I like Goku, as a character he's a bit dry, but there's nothing really all that bad about him. I'm just glad that Vegeta kicked his a** because I'm of the opinion that Vegeta is a better fighter. Vegeta has trained his whole life to be a... for lack of a better term... soldier. He was kicking Saiba-a** since he was a wee tot, learned tactics and various techniques, and even was able to control himself in Oozaru like a pro. Goku never really did that, he tended to just increase his strength and senses. He's a lot more "punch, punch" than Vegeta is. However, in the DB universe, that seems to be the predominant way of winning. Vegeta proved that the superior power level doesn't always need to be there for you to win, and that brains do help in a fight. Unfortuately, Goku was the star of DB (and Akira hated Vegeta), so Vegeta got shafted like a girl working at a brothel. A thing that i've come to notice is that the Under-dog, is always the hero. So that is another reason that Vegeta cannot beat Goku, not because of skill, but because of Goku's pure heart. I understand where you are coming from, and i admire the moves and skill too of course. But for me, i sit there thinking that Vegeta should stop being a baby and get on with his life. True it's hard, and he's been through alot, but everyone has their demons...so by the end of the Buu saga, i was proud of him, because he let go. ^_^ I am a girl who cheers on the good side, not because they are better, but because i understand them and feel close to them. I myself, right now at this moment, would risk my life for someone i care for. I have a wicked side aswell wink But thats more of my temper or playing around, than actually wanting to hurt someone. But the thing is, i always feel, that someone either loves the hero for how they look, or completly ignores him and likes someone else...namely the badboy turned good. [/rant]

Well, to be honest, my favorite character in the series isn't even Vegeta. I tend to alternate between Hercule, Kid Trunks, and Yamcha. Hercule because he's just so damn funny (whether it's intentional or not), Kid Trunks because him and Goten are the perfect example of "normal" kids in a series such as DB, and Yamcha... just because he's been worthless since DB, you gotta pull for the guy. Plus, I rock with him at DBZ: Budokai.

I agree with a lot of that sweatdrop Plus Vegeta always seems to be training whereas Goku gets stronger without seeming to train as much. Plus Goku gets offered all these special opportunities (King Kai's, Gravity Training to Namek, Otherworld etc) so I feel bad for Vegeta because he just works and works and works but never gets to win sad PS Neko-chan, Goku isn't the underdog - he's almost consistantly the strongest Z-Fighter 3nodding Vegeta is the underdog more often - he isn't as strong as Goku but he still tries. And even then he isn't allowed to win xp I agree that as Goku is the main character and 'pure of heart' it seems natural for him to win.. Just not fair. It's as if to say that even though Vegeta has changed so much and tried his hardest, because he's grumpy and used to be bad he can't win. And I like Goku mrgreen Series wouldn't be the same without him! I just happen to empathise with Vegeta more, and find his character more interesting (just my own opinion really). I just think it would be nice to show that hard work can triumph for once, instead of just being the main character or pure of heart. YAY! An actual DBZ debate! When did we last have one of these? mrgreen heart

Just to kind of bump this...
Vegeta may never have been allowed to save the day, but he has beaten Goku. They've fought twice, and Goku didn't win either. The first time Vegeta won (although since Goku didn't die, he didn't see it that way), and the second time Vegeta was the one conscious while Goku wasn't.
Goku's the stronger (Ki-wise) fighter, but Vegeta's the better (as in tactics) fighter.
