ShePlaysByEar Bassoon240 ShePlaysByEar Bassoon240 ShePlaysByEar Bassoon240 Well, at first I hated it, mostly because I didn't want to take the time to learn it. However, the more pieces I started playing, the more tenor started popping up, which forced me to learn it. Now that I'm very comfortable with it, I don't mind tenor nearly as much. I'm kinda learning it but it still bugs me. The part I have with tenor clef doesn't go up higher than G, so it's totally unnessicary and stupid. stare I'm learning it though, because I know I have to.... bleh. I hate it when composers do that, in that instance it would've been better to do it in bass clef... Yeah, well... it helps anyway, I guess. My band director put me on that part on purpose so it means he wants me to. I hope I can play it better next week than I did this week. Good luck! I learned through a game on the computer a few years ago...I've tried relocating it again for a friend of mine, but so far haven't had any luck. Basically the computer would pick a note randomly on the tenor staff and you had to say which one it was. That helped me quite a bit. If I happen to find, I'll make sure to tell you where it is if you're interested. That kinda sounds like a program my piano teacher has called Music Ace. Maybe it's a company that makes them for different instruments? It could be, I don't remember the name of the program now, it's very possible...

MaestroManiac Marching Band: Let's not even go there. I detest marching with an oboe, so thank god I don't have to do it. Concert Band:My favorite oboe solos are in two different pieces: Variations on a Korean Folk Song October Reeds: I use Vandoren reeds, medium hard. Also, how high can any of you other oboists go? I can get a high (second above the staff) G out. October? ZOMG! That's one of the songs that we played in our marching show this year. We had an oboe soloist, but they were marching cymbals and it took them too long to get to the solo podium we had, so they gave it to one of our drum majors to play on his trumpet. it sounded alright, but it's meant to be an oboe solo.

It's alright, the ensemble I was in got a 1st division (the one that I had to learn tenor clef for! 3nodding ) And now I need to concentrate on my solo, which isn't too hard but still. It's the 3rd part of the Mozart concerto in Bb for bassoon and piano. (Duh. sweatdrop ) And in concert band we're playing Masquerade for Band, Festive Overture, and ______ March (the name escapes me for now), the first two by Persichetti and Schostakovitch (names definately wrong, I tried to spell them phonetically and I'm not sure who goes with which peice.) If you can't tell, I'm a bit of a mess tonight!
