A while ago, I saw a thread asking if people named their instruments too, so I picked names from mine. My flute is called Fan and my piano is called Wolfie. Although I don't really mention their names alot, I think of them as somewhat living things. 3nodding

I can't really name my flute 'cause I tend to forget and start calling it "my little flutie". sweatdrop
But its formal name is ... uhh ... well, it's either Florina, Fiora, or Farina.

Well I don't but my friend named her flute Hue (she wants to change the name though) and she named her alto sax Bob! xp

Oh, the fun stuff!
My flutes name is Rebecca, my piccolo's name is Becky (short for Rebecca, haha), my sax is named Patrick (after the guy that sold it to me), my clarinet doesn't have a name, but my piano is named Melody. xD

I don't, but think about it, you're fingering your flute, if you name it, you're groping your flute, then blowing into the mouthpiece, to me, its very very wrong....

I don't know about naming flutes, but my flute prof names the fingers. The only one I can think off the top of my head is Herbert, the index finger on the left hand.

i know this sound mean and uncareing but...
My flute's name is denty... i fell on it on day and well... i like the dent... it is on the head joint and in my opinion, the flute stared playing better! m not uncareing... im just unwilling to change back... my picc's name is lil wood... it is a wooden picc so... yes it sounds wrong... lol im not uncareing... im just unwilling to change back

I treat my flutes like my babies, so of course I name them!
My closed-hole is named Dolfi D. (I used to REALLY love dolphins)
My open hole is called Billy Bob Joe, Bob for short.
I actually became a bit attatched to my conductor's piccolo because she let me borrow it for awhile, so I named it Endoplasmic Reticulum (it's a part of the animal cell, in case you didn't know =3) I thought it was a very ironic and long name for a very tiny instrument.

My flutes name is Faolan, and my piano's name is Voldemort
My sister has named every one of her cellos as well
#1 George (a borrowed elementary cello)
#2 Bob (had to go to the psychiatrist do to a large crack)
#3 Joe (Her borrowed high school cello)
#4 Willow (her very own cello, who hates staying in tune, and loves to snap his D string a lot)
I love naming instruments, it gives them more personality. ninja

PrettyPrettyPeppermint Emmeral Heh, I've never named my flute, but everytime my flute gets hit by something... I start to feel REALLY bad for it... as if I stepped on a cats tail... crying That is what I do, when I dropped my marching flute off of the side of the bleachers once I felt really bad, I felt like I had to buy it flowers or write an apology or something (I acknowledge that I am strange...) same here, i had this random twitch an ended up throwing my flute and she, yes she, hit the bottom of my stand and the mouthpiece got dented crying i felt soooo bad, even though she was only a school flute. i got atached to her since i played that same flute for 2 years in a row.

i named my flute twice sweatdrop first time angel and second time ofelia. i use one or the other depending which i feel like using that day lol
