Malkaia acknowledged her with a Gerudo salute, before she turned to leave. It was appareant that they were not fond of each other, as the Gerudo had become used to their seclusion on the desert. As he began to make his way back toward the labroatory, he noticed another figure in the disnace. She was dressed in black garments, and was riding a black stallion. Its mane was silver, and was quite impressive to say the least. As he neared the laboratory, the woman turned to acknowledge him..and for some reason, Malkaia did not enjoy seeing thos woman either.
"You..." He said darkly, as his hand slid back to the hilt of his blade.
"You're up....but I don't think that's a good thing right now." She said as she reached for her own blades.
As the two of them remained on guard, both waiting for the other to make the first move, Malon and Nagi exitted the laboratory. Malon, upon seeing her master at arms, leapt off of the walk way and stood in front of him, her blade drawn to protect her master. Nagi on the other hand, moved to the woman's side, and extended the spines on her back and arms in preparation for battle.
"Linka...is there something you're not telling me?" Nagi asked.
"If I knew he would be awake, I would've stayed gone." She replied.
"Is she the one?" Malon asked.
"She is." Malkaia replied. "She wears it even now."
"I told you that I wold give it back...but not is not the time." Linka insisted.
"That circlet is meant to be worn by Gerudo. Only the legitimate queen can hope to weild it properly." Malkaia stated. "You will return it to me."
"I saved your life, and you thank me with threats." She said.
"He told you to return to us what is rightfully ours." Malon added. "Thats is the only action required of you."
"So the outcast speaks." Linka replied.
"This is getting us no where." Nagi interrupted. "Lets go inside and we will work out our differences there."
"Fine." Malkaia said. "In our culture, a thief is hunted down and they repay that which they have stolen with their flesh. Your time will come girl."
"Well, we are not Gerudo...and you are the leader of nothing." Linka countered. "When the time comes, I will return it. Until then, it is mine."

"Their world is not for us." Andrea said as she and Arion crossed through the brief gorge that led out of Lake Hylia, there was an iron wrought gate that blocked their path, but they both easily cleared it with little effort. Though her words did not seem to alter her companion's mood as he resorted to silently treading at her side, his head slightly lowered.
Andrea averted her gaze as they turned to the east, searching for a place among the trees to make a camp.
As they found a place to take rest for the night only a short distance from the road that led to the lake Andrea began collecting branches from the ground that were strong enough and of the right form to construct more arrows from. After escaping the desert she would need to replenish those that she had used. She did not speak as she worked, carefully shearing away at the wood with a hunting knife until the edges had been stripped of bark and were smooth. She paused briefly as she finished setting the fletching to the final one when a wind passed through, rustling the trees in the dark, and bringing with it the sharp scent of a storm. Arion lifted his head from where he had lay down across from the fire Andrea had constructed and looked off into the dark, his eyes seeming to see more than his master's as he hurriedly stood. Andrea did not question his behavior this time as she immediately doused the fire leaving them in darkness. She knew the feel of a predator when one cared to show itself, there was something descending upon the land that did not belong...

Adamska had been on his way to death mountain before he was confronted by an unknown assailant. The figure moved with th swiftness of a panther, and he struck with the ferocity of a wolf. Adamska found it a simple task to dodge his movements, but once he found an opening, he took the offensive, and struck. His attack clashed with the other, and his attacker had been revealed.
"You are getting slower, Azrielle." He said as his body came into view.
"Is that so? Perhaps I should not hold back next time." He replied.
"Perhaps. Have you any news of the thrid eye?" Adamska inquired.
"No. However, my visions are becoming clearer with each day. I will locate him soon." He explained. "You just keep Ganon off of our trail. By the time he relizes what we're planning, it will already be too late for him."
"Indeed." He said. "We will meet again in a ten day. Until then...the shadows sall be your home."
As they released each other from their grasps, Adamska begna to walk toward the castle once again. He had been summoned by Ganondorf, and if his plans were to remain his alone, he would have to lower his suspicion among them.

There was a flicker of movement in the dark and the hurried patter of horses moving in the dark. Andrea kept her bow raised as eight mounted hylians came tearing out of the dark, some clutching young children to their cloaked forms. There was a sign of bitter recognition as Andrea lowered her weapon, though Arion remained crouched at her feet with a low growl escaping his throat.
The riders bore an unneeded air of nobility; they wore long draping robes and had bows hanging from their backs. Andrea never thought she would see any of her people outside the village but here part of her clan stood, with panic written across their normally placid faces. Just as they crested the hill, immediately following right behind them was a band of orcs mounted on large boar like creatures, their high pitched roars tearing through the once silent landscape.
"Lyriel get the children to the lake, we will turn them away if we can." One of the men shouted who Andrea recognized as Edward the elder son of the leading household. But before he and the six other men could turn to combat the quickly approaching beasts, Arion's lithe white form shot past them, heralded only by the flight of a arrow with fire burning along its length. As the arrow drove into the narrow gap in armor at the neck the beastly rider was sent tumbling to the ground.
"Go with them Edward, dying vainly does not suit you..." Andrea stated flatly as she appeared next to him, her hand releasing another fiery arrow that impaled the orc rider that Arion had been contending with.
"You! exile!" he spat.
Andrea did not even offer a reply as she took aim as the final creature that was bearing down on them quickly. "Here's and idea you pompous idiot, go and attend to the others, you are hardly needed here." There was a subtle hiss as she released the arrow, though instead of taking down the orc she caught his steed in the chest, carefully aiming to slip through it's ribs to its heart. There was a resounding crash as the boar collided with the ground heavily, throwing it's rider in the process.
Before the orc could recover Arion had his front forepaws on his chest with his gaping maw near the creature's exposed throat. The beast was cursing in some unknown language as Andrea approached with a gleaming long knife in her hand, the blade's twin still resting in its sheath as her belt. "Pity, doesn’t speak common tongue, you're of no use to me now." she noted calmly as the horrid creature continued to utter venomous words in his garbled language. But his words were quickly silenced as the blade came across his throat.
" What drove you to come here...why did you leave the village." She asked with her back still turned to Edward.
"There is no village anymore Andrea...."
~~~~~
The small group of hylians slowly made their way through the path that led to Lake Hylia, now the only refuge from the darkness that was over taking the world. Andrea with Arion following at her side came up at the back of the ground as the lake finally came into view. Behind her she drug the lifeless corpse of one of the orcs that had been slain. If these beast were in the employ of who she suspected then it would no longer be safe to travel the open plains of Hyrule. She sighted the gerudo that she had met in the desert just outside the lakeside laboratory as she allowed the orc carcass to collapse to the ground with a heavy thump.
"We have a serious problem...."
Malkaia and Malon had been conversing outside of the Laboratory, as the group of Hylians fled to the Lake. Even with the darkness that had come so sudden, it was an unusual even to see so many aall in one place. The Hylians were like the Gerudo, to a point and they enjoyed their isolation. He chose not to confront them, but as he tried to make heads or tails of what could drive them from their village, the corspe of an Orcish hunter was thrown at his feet.
"We have a problem."
The Hylian woman in which he had encountered earlier was now standing before him. He did not know where she had found this creature in such a short period of time, but if they were nearby, this would not bode well for the refugees.
"This creature...it is native to the sacred realm." Malkaia stated.
"The Sacred Realm?" Malon asked. "Then why is it here?"
"Why can wait." Malkaia insisted as he turned to Andrea. "Where did you find this, and how many more are there?"
Andrea answered almost immediately, "There were three outside the gates, I dealt with them and concealed the bodies in case any more of their number came looking for those missing. But I have seen these creatures before and they only move in force...I can only assume that these were merely part of a scouting unit. More will come when they do not return." she said lowly.
"We must get these people out of here."
Malkaia stood normally as the corpse of the orc began to burn with a red flame. He did not seem pleased with Andrea's suggestion. Even though his village was secluded from the rest of Hyrule, he knew that if everyone had been fleeing to this lake, it was possible that there was no safe haven for them in Hyrule.
"And where do you suggest we move so many people, Hylian?" Malkaia argued. "Look at our populus. Zoras, Zola, Goron, and now Hylian. They all flee to this very location." He continued. "Can you not see that this is our last hope for salvation?"
"Malkaia." Malon said surprisingly.
"I have only been here for a few days, but I have seen the corruption, and the plague that comes with this darkness." Malkaia suggested. "The only choice left to us is to fight. Until we have located a sanctuary, we will hav to hold this place. These people are in no condition to be moved.."
"Not yet."
Linka had overheard the conversaion Malkaia had been having with Andrea. It seemed that she had known more than she had been letting on. As she stepped down the stairs, and watched the orc burn. She equiped her bow and checked the blade on her rapier.
"It is true that there is no safe haven in Hyrule...however, Termina has not been affected as of yet." She suggested. "The people here are sufferring and this place will not last too much longer. I agree with the Hylian...we must get these people to safety."
"You just said yourself that these people cannot be moved." Malon countered. "You must have some miracle cure."
"As a matter of fact we do." Linka stated.
"My people, the Zola, have seen something similar to this plague over the years. We have ways to treat it, and ease the sufferring, however, curing it will be next to impossible." Nagi explained. "I have sent word to my elder, they have a treatment availiable, however, they will not bring it to us."
"Why not?" Malon asked.
"I imagine they have their hands full as well." Malkaia insisted. "Alright. Show me where to find this cure."
"Malkaia, you can't be..." Malon said.
"I can and I will." He insisted.
"No." Nagi said. "They will not meet with anyone other than I."
"Then what do you suggest." Malkaia asked.
"You are Gerudo." Linka said. "If you can defend this place, while we retrieve the cure, that would be enough. I'm sure you have some rage you're dying to unleash."
"So I am reduced to a bodyguard." Malkaia said. "Very well. Make it quick. I will get bored soon enough."
"If this place is to be held we will need to set defenses up to bar the enemy's path. The path to the lake is narrow, if we can hold them there it will not take many to hold off our attackers, no matter how great a force." Andrea commented as she knelt down to use an arrow to sketch the path that was the entrance to Lake Hylia. Going in subtle detail as to mark the fencing and gate work at the entrance, and marking the place where the path was narrowest, no more than five stretches wide.
"Even so we should make preparations incase there is a breech, as well as make it as difficult as possible for any attacking force to advance. That aside we have very little time." She said as she came to her feet.
"Agreed" Malkaia responded.
He kneeled and took a close look at the strategy that Andrea had. The corridor that led to the lake, would have proven to be a great strategic movement, however there was one possible flaw in the strategy. The Hylia river that flowed from Gerudo Valley, would have been the perfect place for the enemy to make their way into the Lake's shores. He took note of this.
"We will hold them at the gates, just as you suggested, however, the river will need to be defended as well." He suggested. "We will place a unit of Gorons at the edge of the river, with enough of them there, they will form something of a wall between here and the canyon. With the water so deep in that area, the Zoras will have the advantage if and when they decided to use this route for infiltration."
"I see." Malon said. "We cut off their first choice of movement, and force them into the corridor."
"Exactly. In that confined space, their numbers count for nothing. Only in the open field do they have the advantage." Malkaia informed her. "We will still need fortifications here, however." He explained. "Just in case we are dirven back, set whatver traps you are able. i'm sure you will think ahead of the enemy."
"Don't I always." Malon stated proudly.
"Now...what is your name, Hylian?" Malkaia asked. "If we are working together, we will not address each other in such tones."
Andrea stood and replaced the arrow in the quiver at her back before addressing them. "Andrea Ilorea." she said with a brief nod. ."Considering that there is only one other man of gerudo decent, I presume you are Lord Ryomoku." She said with a slight gesture of respect.
Malkaia bowed humbly as she introduced herself. It was not as dramatic as he would a king, but enough that it showed that he was not as savage as the rumors suggested.
"Malkaia Ryomoku." He said. "You may call me Malkaia."
(A Short While later.)
"Do you simply intend to just sit here while we engage the enemy, we could use some cover even if it involves only a few other bows at our command. “Protested Andrea as Edward continued to ignore her, while they worked to drive sharpened rows of stakes into the ground to bar enemy troop movement once they reached the corridor. Arion could be seen in the distance, sitting calmly on a hill overlooking the Field like an unmoving stone sentinel, watching for any sign of attack.
"You would drive your own people into war, having only just escaped it...I can not do this. I will not risk open war when we are so sorely outnumbered" Edward replied.
"War is upon us, whether you would risk it or not."
As she said this there was a piercing howl that tore through the unnerving silence, and Arion's lithe form could be seen darting back towards the lake entrance. They had arrived.
When the howl was heard, Malkaia had been meditating atop of the Laboratory. Malon at his side, he slowly stood from his position. He looked around the shores of the lake. Everyone was in place. The gorons had begun to pile up near the river. The Zoras moved to their front and took cover in the waters of the river, whre they would have the advantage over the enemy. He could see Andrea in conversation with her kin, but he knew that the chances of them joining their cause was slim to none. As they made their way to the corridor Malkaia made one last equipment check. Once they reached the corridor, Malkaia made one last look at the camp, Linka and Nagi dove into the water, apparently heading for the underwater passage to Zora's Domain. Once he got to his position, he and Malon waited as the horns of war could be heard in the distance.
In the distance along the ridge that slowly descended towards the narrow passage that let to the lake a line of the hideous orc riders could be seen. At first only a couple were sighted at the hill's summit but quickly more could be seen, appearing in tens and twenties until hundreds were now visible.
Andrea stood with her bow nocked and ready from where she now stood on the top of a stone pillar that supported the iron work that made up the small gated entrance to Lake Hylia.
The enemy hoard seemed hesitant upon seeing no more than three standing in their path. But immediately laughter could be heard coming from the largest beast that seemed to be their captain. Quickly many others followed suit.
"Perhaps they need an invitation..." Andrea muttered as she leveled her bow at the creatures, the arrow immediately being covered with frost as it made contact with the weapon. There was a slight hiss upon releasing the projectile; the arrow being caught high in the wind before dropping down to suddenly silence the orc leader's lieutenant. Catching the smaller beast in the throat, from where lines of ice turned its body a dark hue as its very blood froze in its veins. As it collapsed to the ground the entire beastly force became silent for a moment before their bone chilling roars filled the air.
Malon had climbed atop the opposite pillar across from Andrea as she drew her bow. She made one final equipment check as she watched Malkaia leap over the second gate with ease. He was now at the edge of the corridor with his arms crossed. In order to reach the Lake, these creature would have to fight through Malkaia, malon and Andrea, and in the process they would have to destroy the gates int he process. Although they were clearly outnumbered, in the narrow corridor where they had set up their defense, their numbers counted for nohting. A sinister smirk came to Malkaia's face as the roars of the orcs echoed in the air. He calmly walked out in front of the pillars, and drew his blade. The loss of their liutenant had undoubtedly upset them, and he was looking to take advantage of their rage. He slid his blade across the ground in front of him, and looked back up at the massive army with his eyes only. As he spoke, his voice had become darker than what had usually been heard. The third eye on his forehead had once again opened to gaze out at the world. His voice was calm, and deep, however, this time as he spoke, although he was not loud, his voice traveled with the wind, almost as if the earth itself was speaking to the army.
"The stage has been set. You come with the darkness...spreading fear among those you encounted." He said eerily.
"Malkaia?" Malon said.
"I do not fear the darkness....I embrace it." He continued. "This gate belongs to me...and the toll for passage is death."
As he finished his statement, the roars of the orcs grew more fierce. Their warhorns sounded loudly, as their lines began to repeatedly slam the shafts of their spears against the earth all in sinc. They were preparing their march upon the lake, and it seemed that Malkaia's taunts were enough to end the battle of their wits. Andrea had drawn first blood, and Malkaia had provided the necessary bacteria to infect their wounds. He placed his blade back in its sheath and watched as they began their march upon the gate. His dark chuckle growing louder as he waited for their arrival. this battle would truly test his metal and the more he waited the more anxious he grew to spill their blood.
