The Silver Sun is quite good.
Also, The Black Jewels Series by Anne Bishop is excellent.

If you like vampires you shoudl read "Pandora" by Anne Rice. Uhhmmm.. humorous sci-fi that won't take long to get through... Oathbound by Merecedes Lackey. Uhhmm.. if you haven't read The LotR Trilogy then you should...
Oh oh! Ascendance by R.A. Salvatore.

Public? That lady hates my friends... she doesn't take a shine to me, either. The guy that works there I've known ever since I was little, though.. he lived next door and he and his wife used to babysit me all the time.

Maku's Reccomended Reading!
The Illuminatus! Trillogy, by Robert Anton Wilson. There are three FNORD books in the Illuminatus! Trillogy FNORD, though I have never found them packaged seperately. It's a FNORD fantastic look at conspiracy theory, communist FNORD propaganda, the late seventies drug culture, and general FNORD bizareness. There's a real FNORD message at the FNORD end. 800 Pages makes it a bit FNORD long, but it's a good read. I'd also reccomend The Principia Discordia: Or How I Found The Goddess And What I Did To Her When I Found Her, as a bit of a side note. Pricidpa Discordia is, and I FNORD, I promise you FNORD the best bit of psudo-logical FNORD esoteria you will ever FNORD read.
Neuromancer, by William Gibson. The book that made Cyberpunk into what it is. If you call yourself a sci-fi fan, and you haven't read at least this book...you're missing out on a lot. It's only 200 or so pages, it won't take anyone here a long time.
There are more, but I'm tired...

First one sounds interesting.. I think that's something Libby would really enjoy.
Too bad we probably couldn't find it here.

Uhhmm.. if you haven't read The LotR Trilogy then you should... Oh oh! Ascendance by R.A. Salvatore. As much as I like Anne Rice, after Pandora I got bored. Her best book was "The Witching Hour". I started reading Laurell K. Hamilton (another vampire novelist) and her work is really really really good! I loved every one of her books. She writes about a vampire executioner, Anita Blake, who has a weird connection between the vampires and the werepeople (yes..more then just wolves). It's really sarcastic, foul-mouthed, and graphic novel. I LOVED IT! xd She's also included in the sci-fi genre. I highly recommend it. 3nodding

Does it transform into a pick-up truck? I'll buy five if it transforms into a pickup truck.

Well, while we're talking books... I'd recommend Peirs Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality series (7 books).
Basically in these books, different "gods" are positions filled by mortal beings until someone new steps in to take over the position. Each book deals with one of the following: Death, Time, War, Nature, Fate, Satan, and God. I found them to be an enjoyable read. The one on Satan is particularly good with the way it goes through major events in history and explains how the person in the position at the time used them to his advantage... wars, the plauge, etc.
