"Sticker tuning" is what you would call "ricing a car" in America. Japanese love to use that word, especially when you see morons in R34's with a million stickers get their asses handed to them by a Nissan March 3nodding

As for the stickers in Initial D, they were always there, but they just never made the transition over from the manga to the anime. Oh, and I remembered a third sponsor. Although Takumi's car doesn't have a sticker for it, his second engine was a Class A TRD 20-valve AE86 racing engine (or maybe it was class B; I forget already).

Bah those specs are posted WAAAAY back somewhere on the old guild page. So I don't think you would be able to find them. I think it was a class A. And if I also remember correctly it wasn't an AE86 it was an AE90.

No, I'm pretty sure it was an AE86. And besides that, there is no AE90. An AE92, on the other hand, does exist 3nodding

I'm not sure about the specs of the AE-101. But I could always look them up.

Hi Super Panda. Indeed the 4AG's are used in the AE101, but the head is a lot different as it comes in both 16 and 20 valve asseblies. A lot of the guys in the D1 use the 20 valve assembly for better airflow and higher power output. There's even one guy, Ken Maeda, who turbocharged his engine and uses like a 50 shot of nitro for his Hachi.

I found out somthing interesting. the Saloon RWD I was thinking of getting here is a KE70 or somthing. Anyway I think I will get my car in Japan.
But now here is another question. How would I go about super charging my first drift car. Lets say it was a AE86 Levin hatchback.

Are there sites that have suggested turbo set ups for different driving styles, Or would I have to muck about in the dark, experimenting with different turbine sizes and what not?

I see a lot of turbo setups for the hachi, but not too familiar with the supercharger setups. I'd say the best way is to start at about 180ps and use the boost guage to adjust to the setting that's most appropriate for you. Although most guys prefer to kep their hachis NA and just rebuild the bottom and top end to keep good response through the throttle.

How does one go about adjusting the Turbos boost. Is it as simple as tightning or loostening a bolt. Here I was thinking I would have to play with different sized turbines and what not.

Also after I slap in a turbo charger would I have to change the engine timine. If so would the turbo come with a chart of some sort.

When installing a turbo, a wastegate and boost guage are essential because not doing so will more than likely lead to turbo detonation if you're constantly mashing on the gas. The boost guage is a control console installed inside the driver cabin and with a simple button push or dial change, it tells the wastegate when pressure should be released from the turbo. That way, you can set it to about 5PSI and not worry about blowing your head gasket. Of course, recalibrating the engine timing and gearing will help to improve performance, but it is not necessary. However, if you choose that route, I highly recommend having it done by a professional. Turbos are definitely not something you wanna try to mess with when you know nothing about them. It may save money doing things yourself, but all will be for naught if you make a mistake and break something because of something you didn't know.

I see, but would the pro mind if I hung around and watched how he did it?

Moving on to my next question, what kind of octane do you guys get in the USA. The best I can get my dirty little paws on is 97 octane. Now If I was to bring in a S13 Silvia blaugh , would it be fuel injected and would I have to change the fuel mapping if it was modded in Japan where the octane is 100?
