"That is unfortunate," Spoon was the only one that could have answered so many of his questions. Believing that Spoon had died a long time ago, Atsu had given up hope, now learning that Spoon had only recently died filled him with depression. He could have found him a long time ago, maybe he could have found out what had happened to... No, that was in the past, he must move forward.
Looking back at Spork he asked, "So why did Spoon only make contact now, and what is it you want with me?"

Drying what she could of her tears Spork answered in a wavering and hesistant voice, "A few years ago, he confessed to me that he was not my real father. Although he raised me in the safety in the woods he had never married. When I asked him to tell me who my parents were and why they did not raise me he refused to answer." Looking at Atsu very cautiously she added, "Then not so long ago he told me that his old friend Atsu could answer my questions he would not if he still lived."

Atsu stood and stared at the girl again... "couldn't be..." he whispered. She definately had some of Thylia in her, it wasn't his mind playing tricks on him. It looks like Spoon did make good on the promise he made before he left. Atsu took a few steps closer to Spork, "Ianthe?"

Spork hastily backpeddled with great speed and ease to keep her distance from Atsu demanding as she strung her bow, "Who is that? What are you trying to do?"

She didn't know... or he had gotten his hopes up for nothing. He took a step back, hoping she would relax again. No, it was her, it had to be...
He gestured to a nearby bench, "Have a seat, I think I need to tell you a little story. It may just have those answers you were seeking." Looking at his guildmate, "Feel free to join us Kura, if you wish."

Slowly cautiously Spork lowers her bow and replaces the arrow in her quiver. Warily she sits in the grass across from the bench looking at Atsu with suspicion. "Very well I shall listen to your tale."

Atsu took a seat on the bench at looked over the girl again for a moment, not being able to belive it. All these years...
"It all started when I went as a emissary between the kingdoms of Dunassi and Merko. They had been fighting for quite some time, and frankly had gotten tired of it. My clan used to deal with situations like this all the time. Sadly I had to leave my wife and year old child behind, we kept in contact through letters and such for the year I was there." He smiled as he reflected on the 'good old days'.
Then his expression darkened. "That's when things started going downhill. The leader of Merko was assassinated, the countries were about to go to war again, I tried to intervene. A rumor started that I had done it, it was all a plot of our clan to take over. On the plus side, I got the two contries to stop fighting against each other." He stopped and sighed. "I was thrown into a prison for two years while they fought against my clan. My only news came from an archer, Spoon, who I had made a friendship with during my stay. Soon though he was sent to the front lines, before going he promised me that he would find my wife and child and do what he could. I never heard from him again." Again he paused just to let everything sink in so far.
"Eventually my chance came and I was able to escape. I ran across the lands, never stopping to rest. But when I reached the village it was to late, everything had been destroyed. I picked through the ruins of what had been my life, looking for any sign that someone survived. After a few days of searching, I found my wife, Thylia." A pained expression took over his face and he choked back a tear, "It looked like she had be riddled with arrows attempting to flee the village. There was no sign of my daughter," He looked up at the girl, "until today."

Stunned, Spork reeled over the tale in her mind trying to unravel any potential falsehood. After all of this time alone in the woods, comfortable in her protected life she wanted to doubt the man's tale just as she wanted to doubt Spoon when he told her that he was not her father. However, she could find no reason for him to fabricate such a tale. Also his solemn countenance betrayed the impact of these events upon the man. He was telling the truth.
As her thoughts raced Spork was thankful that her mask hid the shock on her face and she carefully analyzed the man before her. This was her biological father? Looking at the man again she started to see some signs of resemblence. Slowly, carefully she asked, "That name you whispered earlier, was that what you named your daughter?"

He smiled at her, "Ianthe, my violet colored flower." As her violet hair blew gently in the sea breeze. "You mother insisted on the name, and now I can see she was right."

Spork struggled with the knowledge this meeting was imparting to her. Ianthe, was that her real name? It certainly sounded prettier than her master's choice of Spork. Trying to hold back the tears welling in her eyes she looked up at Atsu. "What was she like? My mother?"

*Vane walked down a corridor. He had no idea what time it was but that was of no importance to him. He had just recently been recruited into the warrior monks and for once in his life felt as though he belonged. He stopped and seemed to look about then turned and walked through a gate that led outside. Vane could smell flowers nearby and knew he was in some sort of garden. Vane did not know if the others knew if he was blind yet but did not care much if they knew. He thought of perhaps training but he needed space for this. He returned inside and continued walking doiwn the corridor. Vane slumped aginst a nearby pillar and brushed his hair back from his face and pulled down his blindfold. He slwoly opened his eyes. They were pale blue and had blank expression in them. He sighed and put his blindfold back on and shook his head a bit and his hair fell forward to conceal the band. He stood up and continued walking, seeming to know where he was going, yet not...*

"Your mother was an angel. Everyone in the village loved her, but none more than I. She was a kind and generous person, she gave freely of her time and talents." Atsu's mind drifted back, remembering Thylia as if he had just been with her yesterday.

((I am sorry too Kura, I got carried away while bored at work. xp Normally I don't have this kind of time though so I am enjoying it while it lasts.))
The girl thought deeply on the unexpected details revealed about her past in this meeting. While she hoped to find some information about her birth parents she never expected this. Looking at Atsu she asked, "So what led you here?"
