I agree with Psiko on this, I wait til price is lowered, a lot, a whole lot.
Not to mention, if I were to get it this early, I woulda pre-ordered.

He didn't die. o_o and see in that situation, thats where you have your credit card or debit card. Don't lose your money, and there isn't a reason for the thieves to shoot you. Go home, cancel the card.

I don't see why anyone would even get the PS3. I'm getting the Wii because i know that I'm not going to have any problems getting it or once ive gotten it. From what i hear people have already had problems with PS3s like overheating.

You NEVER buy a Sony console at launch. You ALWAYS wait for a few hardware revisions for them to work out the kinks. Otherwise, you have a good chance of system failures. I learned my lesson back with the PS1, and even then I didn't get one at launch. Anyone remember the problem with the plastic tracks in the laser assembly that basically ate themselves within a year (leading to sideways/upside-down consoles to allow playing anything on them)?

I played it safe with the PS2, waited, and it paid off in the end, since (sure enough) there were reported hardware issues with the launch units.

So, given their track record, I predict more issues until they rework the hardware a few times. ...And there's already been issues reported before today's launch:

* Issues with 720P HD content downsampling to 480P instead up upsampling to 1080i if your HD set doesn't support 720 modes
* Issues with backwards compatibility where some PS2 and PS1 games do not play, or play with problems. (So, you have to buy a seperate memory card reader for PS1 or PS2 cards so you can transfer your saves, and then you have no guarantee that the game will work anyway).
* Overheating. Yes, this was reported as a potential problem sometime before lauch when demo units were failing at some of the trade shows and such. If they're getting reports of it on launch units, I guess it wasn't fixed.

So between their history of GRATE hardware quality and the ridiculous price alone (among other reasons), I think it's safe to say I'll be waiting... again.

That's because, sorry to say, Nintendo does it right. I haven't heard of any of their consoles having major defects, have any of you?

Nope, but aside from the gameboy and the original (though I did have to beat that thing into submission), I don't care for their s**t. Man, I was so sad when my dad threw out my Nintendo... No more Felix the Cat or Lion King for Somer. Or Duck Hunt. I don't think I had Tetris.

I don't know what is supposed to be so fabulous about the PS3, but I'm not interested. Nor am I interested in the Wii. A single, unified controller suits me. *nodnod* Besides that, I'm a penny pincher and they have to have some damn good games out before I want any system.
