Semara backed away and clucked her tongue against her fangs again. "Touchy touchy, you know that is the reason you never got very far in emotions or mind manipulation, besides you know I am only joking." In her overly friendly manner, she hung her arms around his shoulders, not meaning anything bad by the gesture, just trying to calm. "What about the master getting shot? That-" She stopped talking when she heard the knock on the door, and stepped back away from Xearus becoming more reserved.

"I'm lucky they let me learn cloaking and the like." And she was hanging on him again. It wasn't that he didn't like her. He liked her just fine. It was nice having a friend in a place where all you made was enemies. It was also nice to have someone else bear his secret with him.
Knock at the door drew his attention and Semara pulled away from him. "Who the hell...intrude upon my space! Be quick about it!" Who was here to bother him now. Hopefully not Adrik that would just mess up his day more.

Marx cleared his throat loudly.
"It is I, Master Xearus. Marx. I wanted to aplogize for losing my temper with you earlier this evening and have brought you a gift. Hopefully you will accept it." He leaned the body up against door and spoke again, "You did look quite hungry. And I was also hoping to talk to you."
He stepped back away from the door just in case. Trust was the basis of secrets and if he were to find some of them out tonight then he'd best earn his trust quickly. The night's event will make it difficult however but then again he's faced worse people.

Semara raised an eyebrow at her friend "Don't be so pissy." Then looked to the door. With a shrug and that reserved look she walked forward and swung the door open quickly and roughly, leaning against the door frame thought slightly to the side so Marx could see inside. She kept the look and watched him quite simply, not saying anything else.

He gave a quite odd look to Semara. Was Marx doing something that was againt Adrik? That would be a miracle in itself. Last time Xearus checked, he wasn't allowed to fully feed. Buckling his belt he grabbed his dark green turtleneck and pulled it on. "The lap dog..." He grumbled out under his breath.
Standing with some effort he ran a hand through his hair, throwing it into evne more organized chaos then it had already been in. He moved to look past Semara. "Sure...we can talk. Though...did Darvien say I could have that?" A point to said body.

Marx was surprised to see another person with Xearus. He looked at the unconscious body and said, "No he did not. But I will take the punishment for you since I am the one brought it to you. Think of this as repentance for my actions tonight." Marx waited out in the hallway to be invited in but time was being wasted so he immediately got to the point.
"Master Xearus, I wish to know what you saw tonight when you entered Blackrose territory. Lord Adrik's fledgling is very important to him. And to know exactly what happened to her is my responsiblity and to exact revenge is his."

"Good enough for me." Grabbing said unconscious dinner he dragged it into the room and gestured for Marx to be allowed to come in. He gave a gesture to Semara. "Marx, this would be Mistress Semara. Friend of mine." Sitting on the bed with a wince again he tipped back the guys neck and sunk his fangs into his jugular vein.
Oh for the love of his fangs, sweet blood. Eyes even closed it was so good to actually feed instead of taking little 'sneak sips' as he liked to call him. If Darvien found out it would be Marx to pay the price. But Xearus did have manners and sobered his gorging. "Want some Semara?"
Now his look turned to Marx. Was he information digging? "You heard when I told Darvien. Pile of ashes, Bloodroses. Besides she wasn't even Darvien's fledgling, just one of his underling's fledges that got lost and wandered to far." He took another time out for another mouthful of blood. "How does that make it your business, young blood?"

"Anything that makes Lord Adrik angry or unpleasant is always my business." There was an uneasy feeling in him, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. His past experiences however taught him to always follow the gut instinct whatever it may be.
Marx stepped into the room and tried to find a chair, instead he leaned up against the wall next to the door. I shouldn't get too comfortable... just in case...
"I am only wondering. However, it is quite hard to trust the word of anyone nowadays. Why did you not bring proof, there must've been something you could've brought back."

How true. "Yeah, we're all a bunch of backstabbers and the like." So very true. But he took to draining his unaware victim. He was being slow about it on purpose, who knew when he would get another meal.
Why didn't he bring proof? Easy to lie about. "She was in Blackrose territory. I may look like a child, but I don't think like one. One foot on Blackrose and I'd find myself mobbed by their little fledglings. I don't have time to be mobbed and bitten at." He scoffed and picked a piece of flesh from his fangs. "That would be suicide on my part to do that."
Of course, know one knew that him stepping onto that territory was perfectly okay. He had Lynx's protection. Except for Semara that is, she knew. But he trusted her and she thought along his motive lines as well.

Semara kept a skeptical gaze on Marx and continued to say nothing. Though she did feed a little on the body at Xearus' offering, then she nodded to him to continue. "Thanks, but you need it, a little is enough for me." If she was not more into tha habit of listening, she would have made the remark about the master being punished for letting the fledgling wander. Instead she just sat and watched, listening. For her teasings she could actually be quite protective of Xearus, whether he needed it or not.

"Yes, it would be suicide." A few questions perked up inside Marx's head. He'd have to ask the questions carefully and in a percise order to get the best effect. He thought for a moment before speaking.
"Where did you search for her Master Xearus? How did you know that she was in Blackrose territory? Even if it was a fledgling, she must've known that "one foot on Blackrase" would be sucide. How did you figure to got there?"
Marx looked slightly up to the lights to hide his eyes. Through his shades he looked strait into Xearus' eyes and awaited his answer.

Again he looked up from feeding. It was either the interruption from eating or Marx's questions, but something was really bothering him. It was probably lap dogs questions. "What's wrong Marx, don't trust me?" There was a slight hiss in his voice.
For a moment he looked to Semara, gave her a nod at her taking then declining of any more. A cautious look there in his iridescent gray eyes before he looked back to Marx. "You know, kind of seems like you're questioning my authority and also my loyalty to Darvien." Oh he could play this game.
"Searched west side, all of it. Last place to look was Blackrose and we've lost fledglings before in the same manner. We tell them of the boundary line, but some forget how far it extends. You should know that. So I went and walked the borders, low and behold, she didn't make it that one step in."

Semara licked at the blood on her. She tended to be a little messy even with so little feeding. "With fledglings lost so much, it's a wonder we have any masters left either." Her one little comment and she continued listening, she wanted to know what happened as well. They did not get that far in their conversation earlier with her making so many comments about Xearus and his a**. She gave a laughing smile in her eyes back to his cautious look.

Hmmm... He's caught on...
"Forgive my suspicions, however there have been traitors within this faction. There are two types: one's who are loyal and those who treat the Lord Adrik like trash. You know what type you are, but once again forgive my suspicions. I am only doing this for the well being of Lord Adrik."
Marx used his index finger to replace his glasses back onto the top of his nose. "How long were you gone for Master Xearus? West Bronson is quite a large place to search for and she could've been anywhere. And what luck to find her at the spot you decided to enter East Bronson at, don't you think?"

"He treats me like trash, I treat him like trash. It's a mutual thing." But another glare. Lucky Xearus was sore or else he would of taken on the larger vampire by now." He scoffed once more then sighed in exasperated fashion.
"Hello...vampire. It doesn't take me long to check things out, I'm quite speedy. And I said I walked the borders, not that I found her the first place I looked. You shouldn't assume things, you know what assuming makes for."
A look at his meal from the questions. What this had been a thing to get on his good side? Wasn't' working, but nice gesture. "I think it's me who needs to be suspicious of you and your questions, young blood."
