I'm a vampire freak!
(Thank you Van Helsing...) And I love RPG's, so when my cousin asked if I wanted to borrow Castlevania, I accepted and was blown away. I played it for three weeks straight and was amazed by the difficulty, and how much fun I was having. When Portrait of Ruin was released, I had to by it. 3nodding

Mostly the fantasy history of Vlad Tapes Dracul. I love it and like the graphics of the 3D games.

I admit it was Lament of Innocence's cover art which drew me to buy it and then the beautiful music. Then I decided to go on a Castlevania shopping spree and got into the series more with Aria of Sorrow. (It was kinda hard to find Symphony of the Night though because it was out for a while.)

I picked up LoI secondhand at a Game Stop and loved it. I bought CoD as soon as it came out, and now I'm waiting for the HoD/AoS doublepack from Amazon. I've always enjoyed vampire stories and such, and the fact CV has been around so long is impressive.

Suprisingly, I've been playing CV games longer than I knew what the games were really about other than a SNES retro graphics game.. I know I played the much older titles when I was barley getting into VGs but the very first CV that I remember playing and enjoying was Castlevania Legends... Ahh, Sonia Belmont. The first and only female belmont to kick ol' Drac's a** AND even Alucard's! ... I'm pissed at IGA though, he doesn't consider CVL to be a part of the timeline... and he's sexist for thinking that girl characters aren't as interesting to play talk2hand scream

For me, it was all about the vampire hunting, but the use of the whip as the main weapon caught me. It was very unique, and I had to learn more.

First it was the box art. Then the idea of vampires. Then skulking around a castle...

Vampires, Awsome weapons, great monster design, interesting storyline.
And Joachim...Ah...First Castlevania Fan-girl moment....how sad.
LoI was also my first M rated game...It was my 2nd game for the PS2. (kingdom hearts being the first. Can't beat Good ol' Kingdom Hearts!)

maleduck What is it that drew you to Castlevania? I guess the dark storylines drew to me Castlevania, what with vampires and such, and the music is a great bonus. 3nodding incidently my very first castlevania game was Curse of Darkness but that was back when my dad rented it and i was 4, i didnt remember it. The next time i played it was like 6 years later and that was Symphony of the Night! And i loved that game!!! then after that i found out about all the other games.
