Well... Sephiroth is pretty much as strong in KH as he was in the beginning of the game, before he gets killed by Cloud and has to regenerate his new body or use Kadaj's. I mean, think about it:
Sephiroth is much stronger than Cloud. The only reason he died to begin with was the adrenalin rush Cloud had over anger and what-not. It doesn't surprise me, in KH, that Sephiroth beats Cloud. In fact, it brings more trivial matters at hand, not to mention drama. It also keeps Cloud going after Sephiroth until he can actually kill him.
((Cloud also has a good excuse for being emo. Ya freaks. stare ))

No one lost the fight. Cloud and Sephiroth for instance in KH2, simply leap up and go itno another world to continue their endless battle.

good point, about the battle only to be endless
but, if it were so easy for Cloud to beat Sephiroth, then Sephiroth wouldn't be the allpowerful opponent, and simply just another wuss. The story needs for Cloud to have competition...............

actually Cloud never faced Sephiroth in number 1 only in 2. Cloud lost to Sora and then in the Hades Cup Sephiroth appears in the platinum match which you have to face him with Sora and Sora beats him.

rainstorm_cloud i really don't mind that cloud lost in KH 2. besides, cloud kicked sephiroth's a** in FFVII and FFVII:AC. did they ever fight in KH 1? nope only in KH2
