Quote:
The day was a rather cloudy one, with barely any sky showing. However, this did not dampen Elazu's mood, he actually liked when it was dark and cloudy out.

For now he seemed content playing on the swings, throwing his feet forward and backward in order to fling him higher into the sky. He had refused any help that his Gaurdian had offered, wanting to do it all by himself without any help.

Quote:
The day seemed like a crudy one, but Kimi-Ryu had insisted in going into the city. She had somehow heard of the parks and wanted to see one. Rei had tried her best to persuade her against it, but the child could not be convinced.

The two girls walked hand in hand, Kimi having trouble once and awhile would grip tightly when almost falling. The young one was quite amazed at all the nature. "It's not that different from home," said Rei with a sigh.

"It is," Kimi mumbled quietly. She noticed a boy up ahead, he was on some kind of contraption by a play structure. She pulled her guardian forward with her, curious to see what it was.

Quote:
Elazu flew backwards upon the swing, a grin crossing his lips as he threw his legs forward. With his weight forward he flew forward upon the swing reaching out as far as the chains would let him. As he was lifted slightly out of the swing another grin crossed his face. He was at the perfect height.

Another kick backwards and he knew he was ready. He pushed himself forward again, counting as he flew forward.

" One.Two. Three!!" He launched himself forward, his arms up above his head as he flew from the swing. Maybe a few feet from the ground he fell to the snd, instantly rolling with a excited giggle. Sand exploded from where he landed, covering him up a bit.

Quote:
Kimi screamed as the sand exploded in front of her. Rei didn't know if it was from her being scared, or her being so worried about the boy. To say the least, Rei was shocked. Whos kid was this anyway?

Kimi-Ryu stepped foreward slowly and crouched down. "A-are you ok?" She could never do something like that, she would be too scared.

Quote:
Elazu tossed his hair out of his face, grinning up at girl before him. He snickered at her worry upon her face.
" I'm fine! Y'know, you look like my mama right now with that look of yours." He snickered again, pushing himself up off of the ground, dusting his pant legs off.

As if on cue Risika came running up, calling out to her child.
" Elazu!!! What did I tell you about jumping off those swings!?" She crouched infront of Elazu, turning him around to get a good look at him. " I told you I hat eit when you do that," she muttered as she dusted the child's clothes off. " Especially when you are wearing your good clothes..."

"Mamaaaa," Elazu whined, glancing back at the girl and her mother. " Stop it, I'm fine!" He was becoming increasingly embarassed by his Gaurdian's behavior.

Quote:
Rei knew exactly where the other guardian was coming from. Had Kimi done something like that she would have made her do extra chores for the rest of her life. "Is he alright?"

Kimi noticed that as he was turned, a tail appeared. Not like hers but long, narrow and pointy. Could he be 'special' like her? She sat on her knees and stared at the guardian and child.

Quote:
Risika sighed, satisfied that he was alright and that his clothes weren't too ruined. A good wash should fix everything up.

" Yes he's fine. He's a thrill seeker it seems, but has a pretty hard head." She smirked, ruffling his hair as she stood up. As she stood she caught sight of the other child kneeling in the sand. To say the least she was adorable, and her hooved feet especially called out to her. She had another son at home with the same attribute. " My name's Risika, and this lil' guy is Elazu." She offered her hand to Rei with a smile, pushing her glasses up higher upon her nose.

Elazu turned, crossing his arms over his chest as his gaurdian ruffled his hair. He hissed playfully then knelt back in the sand infront of the girl he had spoke to before. He instantly put out his hand, much like his gaurdian did.
" Hi! I'm Elazu, pleased to meet you!" He grinned widely, looking a bit doppy in all of his excitement.

Quote:
Rei took Risika's hand with enthusiasm. "My name is Getsurei, but please call me Rei. The little one is Kimi-Ryu."

She smiled and motioned to the bench. It would be easier to talk and watch the kids while sitting. She walked over, sat and crossed her legs.

Kimi gave her hand lightly to Elazu. As soon as she touched his hand she blushed. She placed her other hand in a fist by her face, just over her mouth. "It's nice to m-meet you."

Quote:
Following closely behind Rei, Risika called back toward Elazu.
" You behave now, y'hear?" She then sat down next to Rei on the bench, crossing her legs at her ankles.

" Okay Mama!" he called back, waving his free hand before turning back toward the girl before him. He blinked a few times as he noticed her blush. "Are you feeling ok? Your face is all red."

Quote:
Kimi made a squeaking type noise and pulled her hand back. She clenched her fist and placed it on her lap. "I'm fine."

She then stood and walked over to the swings. "What are these?"

Rei sighed. "So how did you get yours? I mean, Elazu seems to be a lot like Kimi. Different, yet the same."

The wind started to blow and Rei shivered. She should just stayed home.

Quote:
Elazu blinked a few times, confused by her attitude. He shrugged then and stood, following Kimi-ryu closely as she approached the swings.

" These are swings! You...well swing on them!" Rather than explain with words he figured to explain with visuals. He grinned playfully and jumped onto one, his hands instantly grabbhing hold of the chains.

" You sit in them like this! Then you kick your feet forward, and it moves you." He kicked forward, thusly moving the swing forward slightly. " Then you kick back, and it moves you backward!" He did so, making the swing move slowly backwards.

He grinned widely then jumped off of the swing, offering it to her. " You try! I'll push you."

Risika smiled, remembering just how she had happened to have Elazu in her care. " A shadow gave him to me," she said fondly. " How about you and Kimi-ryu? Shes so adorable I might add."

Quote:
Kimi stopped and thought about this. It didn't seem dangerous, unless she attempted to try what Elazu did earlier. She sighed and hopped on the swing. "Ok, but be gentle."

Rei looked at Risika. A shadow eh? "Well, I found her in the forest behind my dojo-thingy. It was storming pretty hard and I heard her crying. And thank-you, Elazu is quite a cutie too."

Quote:
Elazu grinned widely as he watched Kimi get on the swing. He clapped his hands together then hopped behind her and the swing.
" I'll be gentle. Just hold on though." With that said he gave her a nice push forward, moving to the side for when she came back.

Risika nodded, glancing at Rei with a smile then looking back at Elazu. SHe didn't quite trust him to be gentle if he got too into pushing. " Found her in a forest? Whatever they are, its amazing." She smiled at the compliment towards Elazu, " Thanks, I fear I may have problems once he gets older though. He's already getting plently of attention as it is."

Quote:
Kimi grabbed the chains tighter as she moved forward. This wasn't too bad she thought. She tried kicking her legs like he told her to. It was working. "This is great! I should get my mom to get one of these at home."

"I don't know if I'll have to worry about Kimi-Ryu yet. I guess I have to wait and see how she gets along with others. I mean we don't get out much, so she can be really shy sometimes." Rei looked over at the little ones to make sure everything was alright. So far, everything seemed to be.

Quote:
Elazu snickered, moving out of the way, seeing that he didn't need to push her anymore. " See I told you! I have been trying to get my mama to buy one for me, but she thinks I'll hurt myself if she's not around to watch me."

Risika laughed softly," Elazu is a social butterfly. Mainly because i have about four other boys at home for him to constantly play with." She smiled sheepishly for everytime she mentioned how many boys she had in her house people would just gawk at her.

Quote:
If Rei had been drinking something she would have spit it out. "Four!? I can barely take care of one. Kudos to you. If I had more I would lose my mind. Though I do admit, Kimi is pretty good and doesn't get into much trouble."

Kimi giggled as she slowly went higher. "Well, I guess she would be worried. After what you did earlier." Atleast he had guts. Maybe too much.

Quote:
Risika blushed slightly, running a nervous hand through her hair as she nodded. " Well one is an older teen, he pretty much takes care of himself and helps me with the others. I guess I just can't say no to a child needing a home?" She laughed softly.

Elazu shrugged, hopping up into the swing beside her, slowly kicking his feet as he spoke. " I know, and I hate it when I make her worry, but I can't help it. Its just too much fun!" His emerald eyes shown with excitement.

Quote:
"I don't think i worry my mommy. Atleast I hope i don't." Kimi continued to kick back and forth. She wanted to ask him more, but didn't really want to pry. She was surprised she was talking so much. Even at home she was fairly quiet.

Rei smiled. She had never been in any situation like that. If people really wanted to live with her she would have no problem, after all she had plenty of room. She just lived in a forest with no technology really where all there was to do was train or do chores.

Quote:
Elazu watched her swing beside him. " I guess my mama just worries that I'll break. But I'm much stronger than she thinks." He smiled with pride, kicking his legs a bit more to get some air.

Risika frowned a bit, seeing that Elazu was starting to swing hard again.
" Elazu..." She warned.

" Sorry Mama!"

Quote:
Kimi giggled at him. Out of the few people she had met Elazu seemed to be the most care free. She continued to kick her legs back and forth. As the swing went higher she felt a drop on her face. Please don't rain...please don't rain... she thought. Kimi didn't want this little play time to end.

Rei looked and saw Kimi was slowly climbing in height. "Be careful Kimi, if you go to high you might get jerked off."
She was starting to worry that kimi might not know when enough was enough.

Quote:
Elazu blinked curiously as Kimi giggled. Had he done something funny? He took a deep breath in, his chest puffing out with pride. After taking a quick glance back towards his gaurdian, making sure she wasn't watching, he gave a good kick forward. With an excited grin he launched himself off of the swing again, yet not so far or high, landing on his feet. He automatically put his arms out infront of him for balance, his tail swinging behind him with pride.

Risika glanced up at the sky, a small frown crossing her face.
" Is it going to rain after all," she muttered.

Quote:
Kimi kept kicking back and forth, going higher and higher. She wanted to touch the clouds, feel them in between her fingers. Before she knew it the chains jerked and she fell off the swing. It felt like time slowed, she was afraid. She didn't want to hit the ground. Tears began to well up in her eyes as they grew wide.

Rei heard the chain and turned her head. She got up and began to run, hoping to reach Kimi on time.

Quote:
Elazu, still beside himself that he stuck his own landing, glanced behind him, smiling widely back at Kimi-ryu. But his grin soon disappeared and his eyes grew wide in fear. He had made her get on the swing! If she got hurt he would never forgive himself.

Without really thinking he jumped forward his arms out infront of him to catch her. He wasn't strong and he wasn't too sure he would even catch her but he had to try. He grinned happily as he felt Kimi-ryu fall into his arms, but the grin soon disappeared yet again as the weight on his weak arms made him fall down onto his bottom. He squeaked as he contacted with the sandy ground, his eyes wide as he made sure Kimi was still safe. She was, and he girnned.

" Are you ok kimi?"He said between a wince when he tried to move.

Risika cursed, jumping up and following Rei closely, her eyes darted toward the sky momentarily as she smelled rain on the wind.
" Elazu!" she called out as she saw him dive for Kimi.

Quote:
Kimi opened her eyes. It all happened so fast. She sat up slightly and placed her hands on the ground. But what she touched wasn't ground. It was warm, and there was a heart beat. Her eyes grew wide and her face grew a bright red. "Boy..touched...wha...eep!"

Rei ran up and snatched kimi up in her arms. "Are you ok?! Are you hurt?" She held kimi close.

"I-I'm fine mommy. I'm not hurt." She nuzzled her head into her mothers chest and then turned her head to Elazu. "Thank you," she whispered.

Quote:
Elazu scratched the back of his head, smiling sheepishly. " No problem." He had actually kept her safe. Too good to be true. And then he felt himself being lifted off of the ground, his own mother's worried voice meeting his ears.

"Elazu! Are you alright? " Risika sat him down upon his feet, fussing with his clothes and dusting him off while she double checked for any injuries. " No broken bones? Or butts?" She smirked, finally pleased that he was ok.

Elazu snickered, shaking his head. " Nope! It hurts but my butt isn't broken, mama." He smiled sheepishly, remembering that Kimi and her mother were still around. He jumped suddenly, as he felt rain drop on his face. " Mama? Is it raining?"

Risika looked up at the sky, wincing in surprise as a droplet fell upon her nose. Then another fell upon her forehead, followed by not one, but a sudden shower of rain. She sighed in response, pulling Elazu close to her in a sad attempt to shield him.

" Well ain't this peachy?"

Quote:
Rei looked at kimi and smiled. "Well, isn't this a coinky-dink? Seems like bad weather always brings us good things. How about we go find someplace to hide from the rain? Maybe the cafe down the street?"

Kimi smiled and nodded.

Quote:
Risika nodded, agreeing about the weather and the cafe.

" That sounds like a perfect idea." She smiled, bending down to wrap her coat around Elazu before picking him up.

Elazu clung to Risika, cuddling deep inside her coat to keep dry. " I want a coffee!"

" No coffee for you Elazu. You get too hyper."

" Awwww man! No fair..."

Quote:
Rei tried to give her coat to Kimi, but she pushed it away. "It's ok mommy, I like the rain."

"Ok, if your absolutely sure." She picked her up and began to walk in the direction of the cafe.

"Can I go higher mommy?" Kimi looked up at her mom.

"Umm, ok...I guess." She lifted Kimi onto her shoulders. "This is as high as you get. Be careful and hold on ok?"

"I will mommy." She turned her face towards the sky. She liked the feeling of the rain drops running down her face. "Why does the sky cry?" She directed this question to both the adults.

Quote:
Elazu watched Kimi from the shelter of his mother's coat. He liked it whenever he was able to hide like this for two reasons; it was dark and he could hear his mother's heart much better.

As Kimi asked about the sky, Elazu frowned. Why did the sky cry.

Blinking curiously at Kimi, she smiled at her question. She never expected for a child to ask that kind of question. " They sky isn't crying my dear."

Quote:
"Of course its crying. If it wasn't, then why are drops of water falling from it?" Kimi seemed to be quite confident in her theory. "And if its not the sky, then its the clouds."

"Kimi, it's hard to explain. You'll just get confused." Rei sighed as she waited for the light to change at the cross walk. "One day when you are older I'll explain it to you."

Quote:
Elazu snickered from his coat cave, for he intirely agreed with Kimi, and found it funny that his mom was wrong. The clouds were crying! They had to be!

She smiled at Kimi-ryu fondly. " You are a very smart girl Kimi. I used to think the sky cried too. My mother told me it was the angels crying though, not the clouds."

Quote:
Kimi looked at the woman dumbfounded. She reached over and patted Risika on the head. "Silly lady, angels don't exist," she said this with such an innocent smile that you'd have to think about what she said.

"Kimi! Be quiet and don't say things like that. It is not nice." Rei lifted her hand to her head in frustration. The light changed and she began to cross. "I'm sorry Risika. I don't know what has gotten into her lately."

Quote:
Risika blinked curiously, seeing the child in an even brighter light. She smiled, waving her hand toward Rei, " Don't worry about it." She followed Rei across the street, still meaning to speak with Kimi.

" I know they don't exist. But my mother believes they do." She smiled, showing to Kimi that she wasn't mad at all.

Elazu blinked, peeking his head out from his coat cave. " Mommy what are angels?"

"They are winged beings that do God's work," she responded, trying to keep it simple.

" Oh. Is Kisten an angel?" He was worried that his brother, who had wings, and actually looked very similar to Kimi, now that he thought about it. " Wait Kimi, are you an angel? You look like Kisten, 'cept no wings" Having totaly missed the part that they don't exist.

Risika laughed, patting Elazu's head, loving how innocent he was. " Hunny, Kisten isn't an angel."

Quote:
Kimi's eyes grew wide and she blushed at the question. "I-I don't think so." She reached up and touched her horn. "No, not an angel."

Rei giggled. They were so innocent, at least they seemed to be. There was something about these children. Something special; different. They spoke almost perfectly, and sometimes seemed more knowledgeable than the average human. She pushed open the door to the small cafe. "Kimi, what would you like.

The small girl thought a moment then replied. "Um, Shirley temple?"

"Sounds fine to me. She'll have a Shirley temple and I'll have a raspberry hot chocolate." Rei turned to Risika and Elazu. "What do you guys want, my treat."

Quote:
Elazu blinked then nodded. " Oh ok then."

As they walked inside of the cafe Risika opened her coat, letting Elazu jump down onto the floor.
" What would you like Elazu, thats not coffee?" She smirked after seeing the face Elazu made since he wasn't able to have coffee. She still cursed her eldest son for starting him on this addiction.

Elazu huffed, pulling himself up on the counter so he would say his own order. " I want a Coke."

"Elazu..."

"Please, and thank you."

" Good boy, I'll have a coke aswell please." She smiled at Rei, thanking her for treating them.

Quote:
Rei paid for the drinks and took them to an empty booth. The small cafe was dimly lit, but it felt cozy. She set kimi beside her close to the window.

Kimi looked outside at the rain falling. She began to kick her feet back and forth lightly and hum quietly. Her mother placed her drink in front of her, but she didn't acknowledge it.

"You want to hurt them...don't you?"

Kimi looked around to see where the voice came from. However, there was only her little group in the shop and the worker behind the counter.

"You can save them...they are in pain...save them from their pain..."

"Did you guys hear that?" She looked at the group, hoping they heard it too.

Quote:
Elazu ran forward and jumped up onto the booth seats, scooting over so he would sit opposite Kimi. As Risika sat his drink infront of him with a straw in it he smiled his thanks, instantly using the straw to drink. ELazu took a few gulps of the drink before stopping at Kimi's question.

" Hear what Kimi?" he hadn't heard anything.

Risika shrugged, drinking her straight from the cup, her straw still on the table in its wrapper. " Maybe you hear the other people in the cafe?"

Quote:
"Only you can hear me..."

"Its nothing." Kimi said to the group. Who are you?

"I'm you, i'm them...i'm the darkness in everyone."

Why are you talking to me? Leave me alone...

"You need me...I need you...This world isn't made for me..."

Good. Then go away.

"You can make this world for me...change it."

I could do that?

"with me, you can do anything..."

Rei touched Kimi's shoulder and she jumped."Sweety, are you ok?" She was worried. She had never seen kimi like this before. What was happneing to her?

"I'm ok mommy, just thinking." She grabbed her drink and began to suck on the straw. She looked at Elazu, then to Risika, back to Elazu and finally to her mother. She started humming and kicking again. Are you still here?

"Always."

And then there was silence.

Quote:
Elazu watched Kimi closely, a small frown crossing his face. She did seem a little distracted to him. He looked up at him mother, a question written upon his face, maybe she could help.

Seeing Elazu looking at her out of the corner of her eye, Risika turned toward him. She smiled at his lost look, ruffling his hair. " Don't worry about it Elazu."

Elazu smiled contently and went back to his soda, sipping at it while he watched Kimi.

" So where do you guys live?" She figured finding out about their new friends would be the best thing to do. " I don't go out a lot, but I don't think I've seen you guys around before.

Quote:
"South of town. You know where the forests are? well, we are in there. I own a dojo-temple-thingy, so we stay there. Its a pretty nice place." She took a sip of her hot chocolate and smiled. "What about you guys?"

"Mommy, can i have another drink and maybe some sweets?" Kimi said sweetly.

"Sure dear." Rei waved to the lady and whispered something in her ear. She nodded and walked back to the counter.

Quote:
" Oh really? That area is gorgeous. A dojo? Thats so cool," she sipped her coke, smirking at Rei's question. " Well its not as glamorous as a Dojo in the forest, but Elazu and I live a few blocks from the park in the residencial area. That old victorian house? So glad I got that house, it seemed too much when I first got it, but now..."

Elazu smiled, " I painted my room!"

Laughing softly she nodded, " All black, but yes he did."

Sika-chan
Risika sat upon a rock, her knees pulled up to her chest as she watched Elazu playing in the creek. She sighed sadly, for even after rolling his pant legs up in an attempt to keep them dry, he was already soaked from the chest down. Boys will be boys.

Elazu stood in the creek, his emerald eyes locked on the surface of the moving creek. Then he saw it, the sneaky frog that he had been chasing ever since they had gotten to the creek.

" Gotcha!" He called out, diving after the frog, hands extended in order to snatch the sly frog. He opened his eyes hopefully, but his hands were empty, still. " Darn it.." he huffed, standing up as he shook his head, his hair being thrown into a spiked mess.

Ballentine
The frog was seen not to far ahead, croaking as it slipped under a sheet of ice. But wait, wasn't it too warm for ice? A good chunk of the creek Elazu stood in had frozen over, and in the center of the chunk stood a child.

Shayla was staring down at the ice she stood on, amuzed by the fact she was able to create the ice. "Leeseee..."

Sika-chan
Elazu tilted his head to the side, curiousity and wonderment swimming in his eyes. Had that girl just froze the creek?

Elazu moved toward the chuck of ice, noticing that as he did so, the water was becoming much colder around his feet. " Did you freeze the water?"
Obvious? Maybe, but Elazu didn't quite understand the laws of freezing.

Ballentine
Shayla turned her head to look over at Elazu, cocking her head to the side. "Mm? Did I?" She asked, raising an eyebrow as she smiled a bit at the other boy. "I did. Yes... I think I did." Well now she was just playing with words.

"Can you freeze da water? Or anything? Others can do fun things..." Perhaps this boy could too.

Sika-chan
Elazu frowned, tapping his chin as he thought about his 'powers.' What COULD he do beside fall flat on his face whenever his feet decided not to work. Wait there was one thing, and the knew thing he was working on.

" I can't freeze water, but I can do other fun stuff!" Elazu took a hesitant step onto the chunk of ice, his eyes on the frog that was safely hidden beneith it. He grinned as he rose his transparent hand over the frog, concentration crossing his face as he watched. He suddenly thrust his hand forward, watching as it went trhough the ice without breaking it, grabbing hold of the frog.

" Thing is," he muttered, trying to pull his hand back up while still holding the frog, " the frog isn't as special."

Ballentine
Eyes widened as she watched Elazu take the frog form below the ice. It was, amazing! "WOW! Howdya do that?!" She asked, rushing over to reach over and tug at his hand, wanting to see more of that frog herself. "I can't reach through 'less I push da ice away..."

Sika-chan
He winced as the ice girl tugged on his hand, which refused to come back through the ice as long as he held the frog. He smiled sheepishly, walking toward the end of the ice chuck where the frog had dived under in the first place. He pushed the frog and his hand through the opening and held the frog up triumphantly, beaming with pride.

" I dunno how I do it. I've been able to do it forever. My feet do it too, but its not as fun when they do it." He smiled, holding the frog out to the girl to let her see.

Ballentine
Shayla released the other's hand when she realized it wasn't coming out. She didn't want to hurt him after all! But when the frog was finally aquired a large smile spread across her lips as she picked it up into her own hands. "It's a froggie! I neba seen one dis close."

Giggling a bit she brought it close to her face, staring at the little froggie intently. "Daddy says princes come from froggies if you kiss them. I wonda if dis one is a prince. You kiss it and we find out." Shayla turned her eyes to look at Elazu, most of the frog covering her line of site.

Sika-chan
Elazu jumped back in surprise, his hands held up as if to fend off the frog.
" Me kiss the froggy? But then would a princess show up? Pretty confused froggy if I kiss it." He frowned, placing his hands upon his hips in a very Peter Panish pose. " You kiss 'im."

Ballentine
"Nu-uh! You kiss em! You caught it!" Shayla stated, shoving the frog more into Elazu's face. "Go on. Kiss it! If you kiss it and it will be a princess. Then I can play dress up with the princess. But a prince would just have cooties!" That said, the poor frog was wiggled in Elazu's face, ribbiting a bit in distress. Children were so rough!

Sika-chan
Elazu frowned. " Do I have to?" He groaned as he saw Shayla's look, figuring her to either let him do it on his own or force him. He closed his eyes tightly and leaned forward, kissing the frog.

He instantly jumped back spitting on the ground, trying to wipe his mouth off. " Eewwww!!!"

Ballentine
The frog in response to the kiss, did nothing. No changing into a prince or princess, just remained a slimy little frog. Shayla's look of wonder and curiosity soon turned into disbelief. "You didn't do it wite! Look!" Again the frog was waved around. "It still a froggie!"

Sika-chan
" I did what you told me to do! The froggy must be broken or something." He folded his arms over his chest, an angry expression crossing his face. " Froggies fault, not mine."

Ballentine
A small huff came from the girl as she finally released the frog from it's horrifying day. "Stupid froggie... Broken." Turning her eyes from the frog that hopped away, she looked up at Elazu curiously then burst into giggles. "But... now you got froggie cooties! Ha ha!"

Sika-chan
Elazu watched the frog hop away, a sour look upon his face. If he had just left the frog alone he wouldn't have had to kiss him and get frog cooties. Wait, frog cooties?

" EEWWW!" Elazu instantly started to try and wipe of his mouth with his hands, then tried wiping it off on his sleeve. He then grinned wickedly, jumping at Shayla with his lips puckered up.

" If I have to have them, so do you! Cooooooties!"

Ballentine
"EW! No!" Shyala yelped as the other jumped towards her. Boy cooties and frog cooties! That was just too much! But the sudden movement caused the small girl to lose her footing on the ice. Reaching out she grabbed onto the one and only thing close to her. Which was Elazu.

Sika-chan
Elazu snickered evily, following Shayla with his lips puckered, he didn't really mean to kiss her, just ment to bug her. That was until she slipped suddenly, grabbing him for balance.

Elazu gasped, the sudden weight upon his already unsteady footing made him slip forward, straight into Shayla. The kiss that two seconds ago, was only a threat, was now reality as the two fell to the ground.

Stunned into paralys, all Elazu could do was sit on his now sore knees, staring at Shayla. He's got to have some disease by now.

Ballentine
Her lips were cold much like the ice they had just slipped on. She not so gracefully fell down upon her bottom and mirrored Elazu as she stared back at him. Had they just?

Reaching up slowly she touched her lips before making a disgusted look. "EW! Boy cotties and frog cooties! GROSS!" With each wipe of her mouth a "Blech" followed. It was icky!

After repeating the action for a few moments she'd wipe her hands down upon her shirt. "Icky..."

Sika-chan
Elazu mirrored her actions, trying his hardest to wipe off the cooties before the infected him too much.

" What you go and do that for? Now I got girl germs AND frog germs. I need some anti-biodics." He frowned, spitting onto the ground yet again. " I prolly got some disease now, eewwww."

Ballentine
"You da one dat kiss me! I said no and you kiss me. So you gave me your cooties! You boys are gross!" She stated, huffing and crossing her arms over her little chest. "Aways so icky. Boys are. You and my broder and cozins." Snorting a bit, she slowly and carefully got to her feet and wiped herself off.

Only then did she realize something was missing. Her locket. Looking at the snapped chain that dangled from her wrist in shock, she soon started to search the ground for it. "Whered it go!? My pwetty heart..."

Sika-chan
" You're the one who made me fall into you!" He too followed his arms over his chest, letting out a frustrated sigh. This argument was getting nowhere, and it deffiantly wasn't helping the blush upon the tips of his ears go awy neither.

" Your locket?" He blinked curiously, trying to remember what locket she may have been talking about. Then he remembered it, a golden heart that had been hanging from her wrist. He looked at the water, thinking hard before finally standing up on his feet.

He extended a hand to Shayla, offering to help her up. " You see down the creek? Go freeze the water so it don't go any where, 'kay?" He then jumped off of the chuck of ice, landing with a large splash, his keen eyes searching the water. " I think it bounced off into the water." He needed to find it, especially after seeing how much it hurt his new friend to lose it.

Ballentine
She took the extended hand, giving a faint nod and a worried look down stream. Frowning a bit more, she cast a glance back at Elazu as he jumped into the stream before heading in the opposite direction.

Instead of walking in the water, it seemed to freeze around her feet and create a patch to stand on. Step by step she headed down the stream, stopping a few yards away and huffing. "I no see it anybear!" She shouted to the boy, looking back for him.

Sika-chan
A frustrated frown crossed his face. Where could it have gone?

" Keep lookin'!" He moved through the water, eyes searching the rocky bottom. Thats when he saw a flash of gold, moving swifty down stream.
" There it is!" He exclaimed, pointing at it as he ran. He was about to grab hold of it when it stopped infront of a fish.

Elazu instantly stopped moving, trying to keep as calm as possible. " Don't you do it..." He muttered as he watched the fish eyeing the golden heart.

Ballentine
Instantly she perked up. "You found it?!" Quickly she spun around in the boy's direction, rushing over towards him. It was amazing that she didn't slip at all upon the ice she ran across.

Skidding to a stop at the edge of the ice, she too jumped into the water and took the few steps needed to be at Elazu's side. "Where is it? Where is it?" She asked, looking up at him happily.

Only then did she follow his gaze down into the water, her eyes narrowing down at the fish. "What should we do?"

Sika-chan
Elazu frowned, glancing at the locket and then at the fish. He nodded, finally coming up with a plan.

" I'll go after mr.fishy. You get the locket." He nodded, looking at Shayla to see if she liked the idea and if she would go along with it.

Ballentine
She thought for a moment, watching the fish there in the water. "No..." She said, looking over at Elazu as she frowned. "You get da locket I get da fishy." With the you, she pointed at Elazu, and then at herself for the I. Giving an incline of her head, she watched the boy before looking back down at the fish.

"On dree... One.... cho...." She paused, tensing her body before shouting, "dree!" Instead of reaching for the fish, she touched her hand to the water, enclosing the fish in a sheet of ice. Too bad she didn't realize it would kill the little fishy.

Sika-chan
Watching Shayla quietly, Elazu nodded to her response. For all he knew, she had some elaborate plan, a plan that would work.

He tensed, crouching slightly as he waited for Shayla to reach three. On "dree" he jumped forward, his hand stretched out in front of him in order to grab hold of the locket. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Shayla's plan, and instantly knew it was an awesome idea. Why hadn't he thought of it?

With a small splash, Elazu landed crouching in the water, both of his hand were clasped tightly around Shayla's gold treasure, and as he felt the reasuring cool touch of the locket, he grinned triumphantly. He raised his hands into the air, grinning widely as he exclaimed, " I got it!"

Ballentine
Yes! It had worked. Though as she froze the fish in it's place, she felt her body heat rise. It was an odd feeling to her and it caused her to shiver. Why was the cold gone?

Upon hearing the other shout, she turned and smiled brightly. "Yay! Dank you!" She shouted, instantly jumping at Elazu. She put arms around his neck, hanging against him more for support than anything until her footing was found.

Reaching out, she went and took the golden locket to once more place it around her wrist. Looking at Elazu, she smiled and giggled a bit. "Froggy not my prince, you are." Giggling again, she leaned up to press a small kiss to his cheek.

Sika-chan
Elazu quickly stood up from his crouch, turning toward Shayla as she came toward him. As she wrapped her arms around his neck all he could do was stand perfectly still, his eyes wide in surprise. Another hug, how do you respond to these again? A blush crossed his face, and with his right hand still closed tightly around her locket, he wrapped his arms around her in an attempt at a quick hug. He was still new at this thing. Her sudden weight did make his legs wobble a bit, mainly because he hadn't expected it.

After a moment, he remembered his manners and smiled, " You welcome, Shayla." He watched Shayla carefully as she replaced her locket around her wrist, noticing that her skin had felt a bit warmer than it had before when they....collided. Wait, did she call him a prince? And did she just just kiss cheek? If his blush from before hadn't been red enough, he was sure he was red as a beet this time.

He placed a transparent hand upon his cheek, smiling sheepishly.

Ballentine
She didn't connect the reddening of his cheeks as a bush, she saw it as something wrong. That smile faded as Elazu reached up to touch his cheek. "You ok? You all red.... Even you ear.." As if to make a point, she reached up to poke at one. Hmm.. his ears were tipped like hers. What else did he have like her? It kinda raised her curiosity...

Sika-chan
It seemed impossible that Elazu could become any redder, but it sure felt like his blush as become worse. He quickly placed both hands upon his cheeks, rubbing up and down as if to work the blush away.

" I'm okie," he muttered, watching her hand poke at his ears, were they red too? He placed a hand on his ears, feeling the heat radiating from his blush. How come they were red too? He sighed deeply, hoping that he could get this blush under control before his head exploded, for it sure felt like it would.

Ballentine
She stared at him for a moment before giving a nod. "Mmm..." If he said he was ok then he had to be ok right? Stepping away she rose her arm to look at the locket and smiled happily. He really was like a prince! Or at least like the ones in the stories her daddy tells her.

"SAY!" She exclaimed suddenly when an idea popped into her head. Well her stomach caused the idea. "Wanna go find my daddy? He can get us cookies n milk! Da cookies with chalkomut chips!" She giggled excitedly, reaching down to grab his hand. She wasn't going to let him say no.

Sika-chan
After a few more rub downs, Elazu was satisfied that his cheeks had returned to their semi-normal colour. He let out another deep sigh, relieved that she had believed him when he said he was okay.

" Cookies?" He had had cookies before, but it was a really rare occurance due to what happened to Kisten whenever he got sugar in him, and they deffiantely sounded good right about now.

With a vigorous nod, he took her hand, waiting for her to lead the way. " I need to tell my mama though."

Ballentine
"Mm..." She smiled as she began to lead the way for the boy. "N I gotsta find my daddy... I unno where he went..." As she mumbled the words, she took a look around. Yep, she didn't see him. But she headed in the direction she last saw him.

It was a few minutes walk, going around a bend in the creek before she caught sight of her daddy talking to a woman. Grinning, she released Elazu's hand to run over to Jason. "Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!"

Jason looked over just in time to catch the small toddler that jumped up at his arms. He smiled softly, bringing her up to sit upon his hip. She was quickly growing and soon it was a position he wouldn't be able to do with her. "What is it my little ice pop?"

Giggling, Shayla clung to Jason's jacket. "Daaaaaddy. Can dat boy come eat cookies? Pweeeease. He my prince." She said, turning her head to look at Elazu. "You wanna come right? Uh.... What your name?" Yeah... sadly enough that was the first time she had thought to ask the boy his name.

Sika-chan
Elazu nodded, he hadn't really thought about whether or not she had a parent. He had thought that maybe she was one of those wood nymphs that Kisten talked about sometimes.

He finally saw who he figured to be Shayla's Daddy, especially after she ran to him calling him that, and he was surprised to see his mother sitting beside him. As she turned and smiled at him, he couldn't help but grin back at her. A few skips and he was beside her, attached to her leg as he watched Shayla and her father quietly.

Risika smiled fondly as she ruffled Elazu's hair. She noted his wet clothes and clicked her tongue against her teeth. " Hello sweetheart. You are soaking wet."

" We were playing in the water, and then she lost her locket, so we had to search for it, and then," He stopped suddenly, because he knew by the smile on his mother's face, he didn't have to explain himself. "Mama, can I go to...um." He paused, suddenly realizing that he didn't know Shayla's name either. He was falling behind in his manners for certain!

As Risika pulled him up into her lap, he extended his hand toward Shayla, smiling brightly. " I'm Elazu."

Ballentine
"I'm Shayla!" Giggling, she reached out to take Elazu's hand as she shook it happily. She had leaned quite awkwardly in Jason's hands and didn't notice the discomfort of her father. She was more interested in Elazu for the moment.

Jason just chuckled a bit, sitting her up and shifting to put her on his hip. "Well... If you don't mind you two are welcome to come over. The kids can have their cookies and milk and we can have some tea. Sadly I don't drink coffee so ... Your S-O-L on that one."

Shalya frowned as she looked up at her dad. "Daddy, what is S-O-L?"

Smiling, Jason looked down at Shayla and said, "I'll tell you when you're older kiddo... So, why don't you walk your little friend to the house? Hmm? His mom and I will follow behind.."

Giggling again, Shayla nodded as she was put down onto the ground. Looking at Elazu she offered her hand to him and smiled happily. "Wets go Elazuuuuu!"

Sika-chan
Elazu grinned widely as he shook hands with Shayla. What a interesting name! He wondered if it meant anything.

Risika snickered softly, " Tea will be fine. I actually don't like coffee at all." She really hated the stuff, and didn't understand anyone who could drink it.

" Kisten likes coffee!" Elazu tugged on her pant leg to get her attention.

" Yes hunny, but thats because Kisten likes anything with caffeine in it. And we know what happens after that." She shook her head, regretting to have ever given the boy sugar. She stood up then, ruffling Elazu's hair before dusting off her pants.

With another wid grin plastered to his face, Elazu took hold of Shayla's hand, getting ready to skip along with Shayla.

Ballentine
Holding Elazu's hand contently, Shayla lead him off down the path. It was one she and her daddy walked often, and one she was beginning to know like the back of his hand. It was a short hop, skip and a jump to the De Marselle back yard. Ok maybe not that short but the two eventually made it.

Shayla smiled happily at Elazu. "My Gamma lives dare!" She pointed to the house, giggling a bit. "Soooo many kids to pway with there. I love it! Daddy lets me go play every day if I wanna." She explained, taking Elazu over to a house on the side.

Unfortunately she couldn't reach the door handle, and so she just stood there waiting.

Jason eventually came up around with Risika, getting the door for the group. "Please come inside." He smiled at Risika, gesturing for her to go in first. Surely one man still knew how to be chivalrous.

Sika-chan
Elazu looked at the house with interest. Lots of kids? It sounded like his house! " My Gamma lives far away. We gotta go on a plane to sees her." He nodded, sure of his answer. He paused at the door then, peering up at the door knob as Shayla's dad grabbed hold of it and opened it. He clapped his hands together happily and skipped inside.

With a smile, Risika soon followed Elazu inside, keeping a hand on his shoulder to make sure he didn't get too wild.
" Thank you."

Ballentine
The moment the door was open, Shayla was tugging Elazu inside. "Hurry hurry!" She exclaimed, all but kicking her shoes off in a fit of joy. But, soon enough she was leading the way through the little house, babbling over her shoulder at Elazu.

"We gotta be good friends K? Cause I wants lotsa friends!" She had yet to release the boy's hand, too excited to care. As they entered the kitchen, she took him over to the table and then paused beside it. "You can sit dar 'cause I sit here and daddy over dar." She pointed to chairs with each name.

Jason just watched his daughter run into the house and chuckled a bit. "My... She sure is excited about this. It's one of the first times where she's old enough to recognize others like her." He started, looking at Risika as they strolled along as parents do. "I hope it's not to forward of me, but would you like to exchange numbers? This way our kids can continue to be friends." He explained, not wanting the woman to think he was hitting on her. Oh the horror!

Sika-chan
Elazu followed Shayla, his eyes taking in everything in the house. He noticed that Shayla had taken her shoes off, so he did the same as best he could with his hand being tugged on. He stayed quiet while following Shayla around the house, listening to her rather than interupting.

He nodded in agreement with her statement, smiling brightly. He had another friend, of course he would say yes. Elazu watched the table with interest before hoping into the seat he had been given. At his house seats were open season, first come first served more or less. He would usually wait until everybody sat down before taking his seat, but if a seat next to Aubrey was open, he would defiantly try to sit next to him, which wasn't usually to hard to do.

Risika smiled and nodded in agreement. Elazu looked so happy with his new friend, another girl friend it seemed, but a friend nonetheless. Exchange numbers? She had done that a few times with other parents, mainly because she never carried her cell phone on her or even paper to write down the other parent's info. After a few times or forgetting and having to memorize the number by heart, she finally started carrying her personal business cards to hand out. They were growing dust at home, and it had her number on it.

" Not at all!" Being too forward, how silly. She fished into her pocket, pulling out a black business card with golden writing on it, holding it out to him on the edges of her finger tips. "Here you go. The number is on there of course."

Ballentine
Shayla took the seat that was hers, which just happened to be next to Elazu. Happily she sat at the table, drumming her hands a bit in a wacky beat. Daddy was starting to take too long, a small sigh of frustration audible. If she were bigger she'd just get the cookies and milk herself, but there was no way for her to reach the cookies that had been put upon the highest shelf on purpose. Stupid daddy....

Jason took the card and smiled. "Sadly I don't have anything as hand like a business card. I'll write mine out for you after I give the kids their treat. Would you like some tea by chance? I don't drink coffee so you're out of luck on that one."

Leading the woman into the kitchen, he just smiled at Shayla. The little girl was giving him a rather impatient look. He couldn't help but chuckle over it though as he got down the box of oreo cookies and two glasses from a cabinet.

Soon enough the meal for the kidlets was placed upon the table. Each getting a tall glass of milk and 3 cookies. Shayla was quick to grab one, twisting it apart and licking off the cream first. "Dis is goooood!"

Sika-chan
Elazu hummed to himself, swinging his feet back and forth as he waited for their treat. He was a bit more patient, and his humming was just a way of keeping himself entertained. He looked over at Shayla, snickering as she sighed loudly.

Risika laughed softly, " Home business has its perks I guess. Business cards to get people to check you out." She smiled at the offering of tea, that sounded really good. " Tea would be lovely actually. I'm not a fan of coffee either." She actually hated the stuff, loved how it smelled, but hated the taste to no end.

Elazu eyed the Oreos cautiously. He had never had one before, and wasn't quite sure how to eat it. He watched Shayla twist hers apart, and did so as well, tentively licking at the creamed center. Shayla couldn't have said it better, it was good. He happily plopped the rest of the cookie into his mouth.

Ballentine
Giving a nod, Jason turned to go fill the tea pot with water. It would only take a few minutes to boil, and in the mean time he got out two ups and sugar if needed. Glancing over at Risika, he smiled as she explained the business cards. "Is that so? The only business cards I have laying around are for my mothers job. I doubt you want that. Make sure I write down the address for you before you leave. Or.. Why don't I do that now?" Laughing a bit, he moved to a junk drawer for paper and a pen to do just that.

Shayla glanced over at Elazu and giggled a bit, she was glad her new friend was enjoying the oreo delight. Setting the cookie part aside of her cookies, she picked up the next one to lick off the cream. When the cream was gone from all her cookies, the chocolate parts were just dropped into her milk.

Ice blue eyes watched as the circles of cookie fell to the bottom of the glass and she lifted it to her lips. Gulp by gulp the liquid disappeared leaving a soggy mess at the bottom. But she slurped it up quite contently.

Sika-chan
Risika smiled as she watched Jason fish around the drawer for paper and a pen. Thinking over the idea of his mother perhaps having a personal business of her own, made her think a moment. The half created thought was soon shooed away, for she realized that now was defiantly not the time to be doing sales pitches, which was usually hard for her to do in general. Tea and Elazu time, not business.

Elazu peered at his next cookie as he finished chewing his first one. He gripped it by the sides then craned it over his milk, letting go with a " Ploop," noise for effect. He watched the Oreo sink below the surface then quickly float to the top. A grin crossed his face at the 'magical' floating abilities the Oreo seemed to have, but this grin soon mutated into a look of disappointment as he watched it soon sink to the bottom. A cookie wasted. He huffed in frustration, grabbing hold of his third, and final cookie, dipping it into the milk for a moment then quickly pulling it out and plopping it into his mouth before it dissolved.

Ballentine
While he waited for the water to boil, he spyed a glance over at the kids. Smirking a bit, he couldn't help but remove a digital camera from his pocket. "I hope you don't find me perverse... But before I happened to stumble upon you I was hiding and taking pictures of our kids. Well it was more so for my kid than anything, but I'm sure there is something in here you'd like to see."

Eyes glancing at the little screen, he shifted through a few photos before the camera was offered to Risika. There she could see the first kiss from a rather decent angle. It looked more like Shayla was falling into him of course, but it was still a kiss either way. "I can print out a copy and mail them to you if you'd like. Could be used for black mail purposes if he becomes a heart breaker."

Chuckling a bit, he glanced back over at the two in question. He noted both had finished all their cookies. Well... That was fast.

Shayla grinned as she made sure to get every drop of milk and the cookie crumbs there at the bottom. A few pats to the glass loosened the cookie particles and those were slurped up like the rest. As she pulled the glass away, she glanced over at Elazu and grinned. Her lips were covered with milk and cookie crumbs, though she didn't seem to know. "Das goooooood. Right Elazuuu?"

Jason couldn't help but chuckle as he noted this. Asking for his camera back before snapping a few pictures. "Too cute to pass up." He stated, grinning over at Risika. "I love capturing the early years, so I can show her how she was when she's older. Times like these she will lose as she ages. I want to keep it all."

Sika-chan
Risika arched a brow at the camera offered to her, taking it and looking at the photo on the screen. A smile crossed her face as she saw their first "kiss," at the time she had cursed herself for not bringing a camera of her own.

" I'm glad someone was taking photos," she chuckled," because I never seem to be able to catch these moments. By the time I even get to a camera the moment is over. I would love some blackmail, I mean copies of this, its too cute to pass up."

Elazu watched how Shayla got the cookie particles from the bottom of her glass, nodding to himself as he turned to his own glass. He picked up the glass and downed the rest of the milk, making sure to gulp down the whole thing before tapping at the end of his own glass. The mushy cookie stayed at the bottom for a moment, as if to mock him and gravity. One last frustrated tap and it fell right on top of his nose. A surprised yip came from Elazu, but then he ate the cookie, pulling the cup away to look at Shayla, nodding in agreement, unknowingly letting a smudge of cookie stay on his nose.

Risika quickly handed the camera back to Jason, smiling brightly at the photo opp. " I know what you mean."

Ballentine
Jason smirked as he got the precious shots, taking quite a few of the two with cookie faces. It was priceless. Smiling, he glanced over at Risika. "I'll mail you a copy for sure." He stated, setting the camera down again as the water finally boiled. Two cups of tea were prepared before Jason gestured for Risika to follow him to the living room. They could at least leave the two alone for a bit and still hear what they were doing.

Shayla had jumped when the tea kettle sounded, then looked over at Elazu and giggled. "You gots cookie on your nosey!" And if to help, she leaned over and bopped his nose a bit. "Dar.. I gots it." Giggling she just licked the cookie from her fingers, though there was still some left behind on Elazu.

After she placed her head down on her arm as she watched him. "What toys do you like playing with Elazu?"

Sika-chan
Risika glanced over at the tea kettle as it sounded, her ears twitching slightly at the shrill noise. As she got up to follow Jason soon afterward, she patted the top of Elazu's head as she passed him, making her way toward the living room.

Elazu smiled as he felt his mother's hand upon his head then turned his attention back toward Shayla. His hand went to his nose as he wiped the rest of the cookie off, wiping in on his pant leg.

What toys did he like to play with? What a question!
" Well, Aubrey has this thing called an X-boxed, or somefin. Its real fun! But I can'ts play the shooting game he does. Mama says I'm too young."

Ballentine
Shayla frowned a bit, unsure of what an x-boxed was. She didn't have one that she knew of, nor did anyone in the family. So, she'd have to take Elazu's word on it, that it was fun. "I only gots dollies from my grandma." She started to explain, letting her eyes slip closed as she shifted to get a bit more comfortable. "They hand bee downs, cause no one over there played with 'em. I don't really like them but Daddy says I need to take them to make Grandma happy. But they so boooooooooring." The last word was given out in a rather long yawn. Yep, someone was tired.

Sika-chan
Elazu's head tilted to the side in confusion. Dolls? Being a boy raised in a house full of boys except for his mom, dolls weren't exactly something he really knew about. Maybe they were those scary things on TV with long hair and huge lips that were called ...Rats? Cats? He couldn't remember now.

Elazu's brow knitted in confusion as he felt his mouth open in a yawn, his eyes closing as he put a hand over his mouth. He wasn't tired, or at least he hadn't been a few moments ago. Yawns really were contagious.

Ballentine
Shalya listened for any sort of remark, but didn't get one. She heard the boy yawn, and in returned yawned once more herself. All in all... She was falling asleep. It wasn't long before her face was burried into her arms and her mind off to dream land. Yep... she wasn't waking up easily either.

Jason noted the quiet coming from the kitchen. "Hmm... I think their getting sleepy. That or they are already asleep." He muttered to Risika, sipping at his tea.

Sika-chan
Elazu rested his forehead on the kitchen table, ignoring the little voice telling him that it was bad manners. He was tired too, and seeing Shayla sleeping on the table all peaceful, only made it look that much more inviting and comfy looking. His soon pulled his arms up from his lap, wrapping them around his head to close out the light from his eyes so he could really rest. And just like that, he was out.

Risika's ears perked at the mention of the children possibly being asleep, Elazu asleep this early wasn't something new, she was just surprised that she had lost track of time, was it nap time already? She sat up a little, peering into the kitchen, a soft smile soon crossing her face. " Yup they're both out."

Ballentine
Jason smiled softly as he watched the two. "Well... I do believe we can call it a night then. Thank you for coming over, and no I'm not kicking you out yet. Just saying it now." He chuckled.

He was a good host, keeping up the small talk before the woman did realize it was time to leave. Only then did he lead the way into the kitchen so she could get her son and show her to the door. Of course he took pictures of the two before hand.

Again he thanked at the door before locking up. Shayla was put to bed and he laid on the couch for a moments rest. Yeah... at that time his mother brought his son back which meant Screaming baby in the house.. Joy.

There was absolutely nothing in the world more fascinating than a basket of kittens, except for maybe a basket of kittens you could have. Taji peered intently into the front display of the pet store, where a half-dozen kittens dozed, played, and washed themselves, her fingers splayed against the rapidly smudging glass.

Her mother was nowhere to be found -- they were in the area to pick up some ingredients to bake a cake from the grocery store, but another attack of short attention span left the star spirit wandering away while Madeleine had been inspecting barrels of sugar. And what fortune that she had, else Taji might never have discovered the Promised Land of Cute and Fuzzy Creatures!

Quote:

Elazu jumped happily in place as he watched his mother signing paper after paper. Why did getting a puppy have to take so darn long. He grinned happily as his mother looked at him, but then frowned at her frustrated look.

" Hunny I got a lot of things to fill out apparently. So go look around if you'd like. No touching though, you got it?"

Elazu stopped jumping and huffed loudly, turning on his heel in defiance. Sure he was doing what she asked, but he wanted to make sure she knew he was upset about the wait. With a quick look around the store, he instantly went toward the kitten display he had seen before. Since they were there to get a puppy, and that was it, he hadn't had much time to look at the feline babies.

He grabbed hold of the top of the glass wall that separated him from the kittens, then pulled himself up, resting his arms over the side so he could stay there. He grinned at the sleeping kittens, but was then distracted by the girl on the outside of the much larger glass wall. His head tilted to the side in curiosity as he watched her. She dressed funny, but it did remind him of a friend of his mother's.

Quote:
Taji's eyes widened in surprise as a huge, new cat appeared, crawling over the glass wall in the back. What an odd looking one though, no wonder they hadn't put it on display! He didn't seem to have any fur, and his ears were invisible, though he had large green eyes that seemed cat-like enough. Even more strange was the fact that the cat was wearing clothes (though, to be fair, he did look quite nice in them.)

"HAAAY," said Taji to the cat through the window, her breath fogging up the glass. She scuffed her bee boots against the sidewalk, pushing against the glass as if in hopes it would give and let her in. "You are a funny-looking cat," she finally decided to inform him when everything else failed. "Are you their brother?"

Quote:
Elazu blinked curiously then waved to the girl, this made him lose his grip on the glass, however, and he slid back down to the floor. With a frustrated huff, he heaved himself back up, tossing his hair out of his eyes with a simple flick of his head, and made sure to not wave at the girl this time.

Did the girl just call him a cat? " I'm not a cat! And I'm not their brother neither!" He pursed his lips as he continued to watch the girl, his eyes drawn especially to her boots, were those bees?

Quote:
"Oh," said Taji perplexedly. Well, if he was not a cat -- nor their brother -- then he had to be a boy, which meant someone to get into trouble with! Well, now she had a proper excuse to go inside. After all, his denials of both things were just as good as an invitation to enter the store, and it would be rude to deny it.

Her mind set, Taji stomped over to the shop door, set her shoulder to it, and fought a shoving-pushing game with it until it finally creaked open enough for her to slip through. "Hullo!" She greeted the store in general before quickly locating the boy draped over the glass wall to her left and skipping over to him, her boots squeaking against the floor.

"I am a Taji," she informed him even though he did not ask, grinning happily. "Are those your kitties?"

Quote:
Elazu peered over at the girl, letting go of the glass and landing solidly before her. His eyes instantly went to her boots. They were so bright!

" I'm Elazu, and no they're not my kitties, they're the big man behind the counter's." He squatted down then, poking at her boots. " Are they made from real bumbley bees?" He asked as he stood, but his attention span soon got the best of his as his eyes widened. He had a puppy to show off though! " HEY wanna see my puppy?"

He didn't wait for an answer as he skipped away from the girl, going over to a kenneled area in the middle of the store. Puppies rough housed with each other inside the kennels, and he pointed out a small black and white puppy. " That one's mine! She called a, uhm, borders dolly. Or something like that."

Quote:
Thankfully Taji's own attention span was able to keep up with his.

"Hello big man behind the counter!" She greeted the proper owner of the kitties politely, giving a big wave before turning her attention to the source of her poking. "They are big special bees, with holes in them, they carry my feet."

"Yes, puppy!" She loved puppies too, as much as kitties. She ran after him, singing an incomprehensible song that made prominent use of the word 'puppy', and skidded to a stop next to Elazu when they came to the kenneled area. "Awwwhhh!! She is so cute! Floppy ears!! Does she have a name?"

She was admittedly a little jealous -- she wanted a puppy too! She contented herself for the time being by making grabby fingers at the puppies, hoping one of them would notice and come over to be petted.

Quote:
Elazu huffed, folding his arms over his chest. " No I haven't named her. I have to wait until I get home so me and my brother's can name her together. I wanted to name her Rex. She responds to it enough." His lips scrunched together to make kissy noises at the puppies," Reeex, c'mere Rexy!"

'Rex' turned her head suddenly and removed herself from the dog pile that was her siblings, bounding over clumsily to the two children. Elazu and she had spent time in the back playing, to make sure that they liked her before adopting her, so she remembered him and his constant calling of the name Rex. She yipped happily at the two children, licking at Taji's hand.

" See! She likes the name."

Quote:
"Rex," Taji repeated, trying out the name between bouts of giggling and grinning at the adorable puppy. "Recks. Rocks. Ricks. Rax. Rex."

Yes, no matter how she looked at it, it was the best option available. "It is a good name," Taji decided at last, scratching Rex' ears. A sudden thought struck her -- as if something had finally clicked in place in the puzzle of 'What's wrong with this picture' -- and she straightened and made a small noise of puzzlement, nose wrinkling. "Why are the puppies in the.. the thing?" Taji was used to animals in boxes and baskets, but not so much in cages.

A quick look around the room revealed many other critters in similar states of confinement. "Why are they trapped like that? Wouldn't they be happier with lots more room to run around?"

Quote:
" You see! But mama won't let me name her until I talk to my brothers back home." He sighed softly, resting his arms and chin on top of the kennel. He looked over at Taji with an arched brow. Why were they all in cages? He had asked his mother the same question, but only because it kept him from petting and playing with them easily.

" My mama said it was because its for the animals safety." He shrugged, but he slightly knew where this was going, and he wasn't too sure he liked it or not.

Quote:
"Ohhhh," said Taji a little perplexedly still. Well, maybe that made sense -- the puppies were going to go home with people, right? So this was just a temporary thing, like -- like a playpen. And.. the kittens out in front, they had a basket to sleep in, so that was alright. And the fish had to be in the glass jars and boxes, because otherwise they would go floppy-flop all over the floor and get stepped on. And the mice.. Well, Elazu was right, it was for their protection, because otherwise people would step on them too.

But what about everything else, like the ginny-pigs (that looked nothing like real pigs!), and rabbits, and birds, and newts, and snakes? Surely there was no reason for their confinement too, unless, of course... "Maybe they're on time-out," Taji said with somewhat of an awed tone, looking around at a store with so many apparently misbehaving animals.

There was a cage of miniature rabbits, three with varying colors, a little ways from the kennel. Taji shuffled over to them and crouched down next to the cage, proceeding to poke her fingers through the wires at them. Though one particularly bold one stepped forward to briefly sniff her fingers, generally they couldn't care less about her presence and continued contentedly ripping hay out of a tiny bale set in a corner and munching on it, scattering the rest of it everywhere.

"You are so messy," Taji told them reproachfully, mimicking her mother's tone. "That is why you are in here, you make a mess. You should learn to eat nicely, and with your mouths closed!"

Quote:
As Elazu watched Taji walk over to the rabbits, he picked up Rex quickly, kissing her on the nose before putting her back down into the kennel. " I be back," he whispered then skipped off after Taji, peering around her at the messy rabbits. They sure were messy eaters, and the time out made sense as he watched them eat.

" Bunnies sure are messy," he noted, then looked over at the puppies again, noticing that they were doing similar things. Biting and tearing at their newspaper littered kennel. " Or maybe its just baby animals in general?"

Quote:
Taji followed Elazu's gaze back to the puppies while her fingers, unable to keep still, twisted knots in her skirt. "Will Rex be good if you bring her home?" She voiced a worry, "Or will she have to go into lots of time-outs too?"

Rex seemed like a very good puppy when Elazu had called her over, but perhaps the other puppies were bad infl...influ...influenzas. Taji wrinkled her nose at the thought. If there was anything she disliked the most, it was bad influenzas!

Meanwhile, bits of the hay the bunnies were tearing at were slowly picked up by her gravitational halo, spinning weightlessly around the tiny stars and dust bunnies Taji had made her friends.

Quote:
Elazu grinned proudly, for he knew that Rex was a good girl. " No Rex only does it when the other puppies are around her. She didn't do it when she was alone with me before."

Elazu's eyes were drawn toward the now floating bits of hay and other things that floated around Taji's head. Why hadn't he noticed those before? He reached out gingerly and picked out a few pieces of hay, tossing them back into bunny cage.

" Why do things float around your head?" He couldn't help but ask, and his nit picking at the little bundles of hay was a habit he had aquired from his mother.

Quote:
"Oh! Hmm..." This was not a question Taji recieved often -- generally because she wasn't allowed to 'wear' her halo out in public. Lately she had taken to shoving the contents of her solar system into her pockets and putting them back in place when her mother wasn't looking though (in this case, ten minutes before she arrived at the pet store.)

"It's cos I'm a star!" She said finally, striking an overly dramatic pose and nearly falling over in the process. "You know, like planets revolve around the sun, and the moon around Gaia. I don't have any planets yet though." Secretly she aspired to having some, perhaps with little monkies living on them. Monkies would be the best.

Taji reached up to help him groom her halo, but got bored after the first few pieces of discarded hay. "Thank you," she said politely instead, rocking on her feet, the tilt of her halo adjusting with her movements.

Quote:
Elazu picked the last few bits of hay and dusted his hands off, smiling at his work. His mother would be proud.

" Things can float around your head?" And she wanted planets...An idea struck him then and he grinned, lifting his finger up. " Hold on a sec," before running over to his mother, who was still filling out paper work. She looked down at him, then over at Taji, a knowing smile crossing her face as she waved at the little girl. She looked back at Elazu to listen to his question then nodded, telling him to be good, before turning back toward the counter.

" I will mama!" He exclaimed before skipping back to Taji, grabbing hold of her hand as he started on his way out of the store. " Come on I wanna show you something."

Quote:
Taji eagerly waved back to the nice-looking lady at the counter (Elazu's mother, maybe?) and had gone back to watching the puppies roughhouse when the other boy ran over and grabbed her hand.

She obligingly kicked up into a skip herself, to better keep up with him, waving to the lady again as they passed her. "Where're we going?" She finally thought to ask curiously, though she certainly did not mind the pseudo-kidnapping. Maybe they were off to see the Wizard. The thought made Taji brighten, and the young girl began to hum the appropriate song as the duo made their way out of the store.

Quote:
Risika waved back to the girl with a bright smile before heading toward the side of the store, looking at dog beds, bowls, toys, all the essentials a new puppy would need.

"Somewhere fun!" He grinned as he continued to skip toward the door, letting go of Taji's hand in order to push his weight against the door. With a good heave he was able to psuh it open enough for them to slip through. He waited, however, for Taji to go through first, smiling brightly at her.

Quote:
Taji halted long enough to take hold of her skirt in both hands and briefly yank it out, bending creakily at the knee in a curtesy that was not yet mastered, a bit of etiquette her family had (attempted to, at least) trained her in. Then she grinned back at him and slipped out the door, waiting for him to join her.

Though she had been determined not to pester him too much, nevertheless curiosity very quickly got the best of her. "Is it the zoo?" She thought aloud, looking up and down the block for any other helpful clues.

Quote:
Elazu snickered to himself at the curtsy, for he really hadn't seen anyone do it before. He understood what it was, but finally seeing it outside of the cartoons, it was kinda silly. He ignored it though, and jumped outside of the store before the door could snatch him back in.

He skipped a few steps down the street before stopping in front of a store that was next door. He grinned to himself before turning to Taji with a large grin upon his face.
" No not the zoo, I have never been there." He peered inside of the store display to make sure it was open before turning quickly to Taji. " Now you stay here, I'll be right back." With that said he quickly shoved his weight against the door, pushing his way inside.

Quote:
"Okee," Taji said for a lack of anything better. What was he planning? Maybe a parade? A parade of kittens? No, but that was inside this store and he went inside another one, one that she had not seen before. She stared at it for a while as if hoping it would spring to life and tell her what exactly it was (or, even better, what exactly Elazu was doing.)

Well, she couldn't follow him inside, because he told her to stay here. Here -- this little square of cement on the sidewalk. Taji tiptoed very carefully to the edge of the square, taking careful precautions not to step on the crack. Now she could go no further, so she sat down carefully on her square and scratched her nose, hoping he wouldn't be too long.

Quote:
After a few moments Elazu reappeared outside, smiling brightly with a small paper bag in his hand. He hopped until he was in front of her then stuffed his hand into the bag, fishing out something before setting the bag on the ground. He then extended his fist toward Taji, opening it slowly so as not to drop the present, as well as to tease her a little bit with suspense.

Within his palm was a small marble of the earth, seemingly shined to glossy perfection. Extending from this marble was a small chain, one that could easily clip on to a necklace or bracelet if need be.

Quote:

Taji slowly leaned in, staring wide-eyedly at the mystery thing hidden in Elazu's hand, nearly to the point of falling over; but finally it was revealed.

She squeaked and immediately leapt to her feet, accepting the marble and holding it up to the sunlight to better admire it. It was round and shiny with pretty patterns on it, and -- and it was hers.

"THANK YOUUU," Taji promptly burst out, continuing broadcasting her happiness in a soft but neverending "eeeeeeeeeeeee!!!" while throwing her arms around Elazu in a tight hug, the marble clutched in her fist. She would treasure it forever, and ever, and ever, and...

Quote:

All Elazu could do was stand still as Taji hugged him. The only person who hugged him was his mother, so it was awkward to get a hug from another girl. A small blush had crossed his face as he returned the hug quickly before pulling back a little bit, pointing at her halo.

" I-it can float in there. Just take of the lil' chain if you want." He paused before smiling sheepishly, still not over the whole hugging thing. " I'm glad you like it."

Quote:
Elazu could probably see the lightbulb going off above Taji's head as she finally realized the entire point to this venture. Pulling back from him, she busied herself with trying to detatch the chain from the marble. It took her a few minutes (and she had to resist the urge to throw it on the ground and stomp on it -- she might hurt the marble!) but finally she managed to work it free.

And so, with a little flourish, Taji tossed it up and allowed her halo to catch it. The marble spun happily in its new place in the universe, between two of her stars, where Taji beamed at it. "I will call it Planet Elazu!" She decreed royally, and after another moment's thought, reached up to pluck one of the stars bordering it.

It came loose much more easily now that she was stronger, and she clutched it tightly in one hand while loosening one of her arm-bracelets (little more than rainbow-colored strings) with her teeth and catching it with her other. She corralled the star with a simple knot and finally allowed it free, pulling the string down where the entire thing wouldn't be caught again by her halo; aimlessly the star floated up until the string wouldn't allow it anymore, like a tiny little star balloon.

"Here, you can have this," Taji said proudly, offering the star to Elazu.

Quote:

Elazu beamed proudly at the name of the new planet. He could now officially gloat that he had a planet named after him. Not too many people could do that. He watched his planet spin, smiling happily. He had chosen the right gift.

His eyebrow arched in question as he watched Taji tinker around with one of her stars. What could she be up to? Especially after taking one of her stars out of her halo. But his eyes widened in surprised as she offered the leashed star to him, as a gift. He watched the floating star silently then took hold of the end of the rainbowed string, watching the star move around on its own. A bright grin crossed his face then

" Thanks Taji!" He tied the end of the string around his wrist, watching the star fondly as it hovered around his wrist. " It'll be 'Lil Taji." He laughed a little, realizing how lame he was being by following her lead on how to name his new star. He liked it anyways, and it would be attached to his wrist for a good while.
" Does it...eat anything?"

Quote:

"We are good friends now, cosmic friends!" Taji declared emphatically, balling her fists and placing them on her hips. She imagined she looked very dramatic and powerful, with the (non-existant) wind blowing her long hair out behind her and -- wait, she wasn't wearing a cape this time. Hmmm. Well, maybe her new planet was spinning extra-fast, to demonstrate the importance of such a friendship pact.

Elazu's next question promptly distracted her; Taji thought about it very carefully, bee boots a-tapping on the sidewalk. "LOVE." She said finally, beaming him another cheesy grin. "Otherwise, he is fine! Take him out sometimes to see his brothers and sisters at night, and... and don't let him loose in wide open spaces." She tapped a finger against her chin in thought, trying to determine whether she was missing anything else.

Well, if he was... She couldn't tell--wait! What time was it?! Ohh, her mother was probably all crying and huddled in a corner somewhere, missing her very much... "I should probably go find my mum now... But -- but let's go to the zoo sometime, ok? You can bring Rex!"

Quote:

Friends? Elazu played the idea within his head for a moment then smiled brightly. He liked that she was his friend, and he was hers. Now onto the star...

" Love? Okay I'll love it then." He nodded, continuing to watch the little star hover around his wrist. This would give him more of a reason to go outside at night time now too. " I'll make him a little house as soon as I get home."

He frowned slightly once she mentioned having to leave, but the hopes of a future zoo visit made him happy once more. " Okay! A trip to the zoo will be fun! And Rex will come too of course." He smiled brightly then turned to head back into the pet store. He paused, however, and turned back around to give Taji a quick hug. " Thank you for 'Lil Taji." He jumped back quickly, running back to the pet store. " Byyyeee Taji!" And with that he shoved his way back into the pet store, where Rex and his mother awaited him.

Ziya waited patiently for his father, sat with his back against Naheed the camel. Naheed was the matriarch of their camels though suprisingly one of the nicer ones. She sat, quietly chewing away and waiting for her master who had gone into the grocery store.

Ziya sighed, his dad had been gone aaaaaaaages and he hadn't left him with anything to do. His keen eyes searched the high street for some kind of amusement, they landed to the delight of the little one on a jewelry shop.

Ever the magpie Ziya hauled himself to his feet and toddled forwards to try and get a peek at the window display.
Naheed watched him and gave a maternal grunt that told him not to go too far.

Quote:
Elazu skipped down the street, humming a merry tune. He had been told to stay at Aubrey's side, but what was the fun in that when there was a candy store down the street from the boring book store. From time to time his short attention would be caught by a display or two, but he would soon be off on his way after he remembered that candy was involved.

His attention, however, was snatched hold of by the shinies that were displayed by the jewelry store. His eyes were large as he suddenly attached himself to the glass, fogging it up a little from the breath escaping his gaping mouth. He wondered if he could buy something like that for his mother. When Raziel got her a ring that one time, she had been so thrilled.

Elazu stepped back from the glass and fished his coin pouch from his pants pocket, and started to count the bills and assorted coins under his breath.

Quote:
Ziya watched the boy with facination and glanced back to the camel. A smirk spread across his lips,it wasn't like a camel could stop him from having fun. It was a pet.

Grinning to himself he looked away from the window display and leant backwards against the wall.
"Where d'you get that?" he asked in wonder, watching the money the boy was counting. Ususally Ziya just took the things he wanted, but this seemed to get him into more and more trouble lately. This stuff the boy had seemed to be the proper way to get things. he had seen his parents using it sometimes.

Quote:
Elazu's green eyes flicked toward the boy who spoke to him momentarily, they soon narrowed slightly as he realized he lost count. But it wasn't this boy's fault. With a snap, Elazu closed his coin pouch and stuffed it back into his pocket. He didn't have enough money it seemed anyways.

He stuffed his hands into his pockets as well and turned toward the boy, smiling brightly. " Aubrey gave it to me and told me, " Go find something else to do instead of bothering me.'So I am going to use it to buy candy!"

Quote:
Ziya wondered what an Aubrey was for a moment and sucked on his lower lip. Maybe he would ask his Dad, he knew -everything- or so the naieve little todler thought.

At the boy's nest words Ziya looked at him and grinned. Today was a day for learning it seemed.
"What's candy?" he asked, wondering if it were shiney and pretty like the things in the jewelry store.

Quote:
Elazu's jaw dropped. The boy didn't know what candy was?
" Do you live under a rock?" He had heard his mother say that before, and it made him happy that he could finally use it. He grabbed hold of the other boy's hand suddenly, and started walking down the street, pulling the other boy along.

" I'll show you what candy is then."

Quote:
Ziya did not have time to think about his father telling him to stay where he was, or where they might be going before he was dragged off down the street.

This candy stuff had better be interesting he thought to himself as he managed to keep up with Elazu.
"Is it shiney?" he asked with interest.

Quote:
Elazu nodded, skipping sown the street a few steps ahead of Ziya, having let go of the other boy's hand a few seconds before starting to skip.

" It can be shiney, and it can be dark and look like mud! Its all very interesting." He skipped along, looking at each store display so that he could keep an idea of where he was and not get lost with his new companion. And by the looks of the toy store they just passed, they weren't too far away.

Quote:
Ziya hurried along behind Elazu listening carefully.
Shiney was good, mud was good. So this Candy stuff must be good.
Ziya had no idea where they were, though they had gone in a straight line so it should be easy to get back.
"What d'you do with it?" He asked his new friend as they made their way to this shop of candy.

Quote:
" You eat it silly. Candy is for eating." A few hops and skips and then the crack in the sidewalk jumped out at him. They were here!

He clapped his hands together excitedly then attached himself to the window display where hundreds of different kinds of candy, chocolate, fudge, and well you name it, they had it. He soon saw his favorite kind of candy and pointed it out. A nice round, red, juicy looking strawberry dipped in milk chocolate.

" Those are real good," he murmured. Raziel had brought some home for his mother and she shared it with his brothers and himself. Good thing Raziel had brought two patches.

Quote:
"WOOOOW" Ziya cried as he pressed his little hands against the window and stared in. "They look yummy."

He had never seen anything like it. Ziya's parents were very traditional and didn't like him eating things that were not their natural diet. As a result the poor boy had never tasted the sweet pleasure of the goods in the candy store.

"That one is preeeeety." he grinned, pointing to a swirly round lollypop the colours matched the scarf he wore around him. Can we try some?"

Quote:
Elazu grinned, glad that he had amazed his new companion in such a way. Maybe he wasn't the only kid that didn't get to have candy on a regular basis. Although his reason was probably different, due to the fact that it was one of his brother's that really couldn't have sugar, thusly the whole house was put under that rule.

Elazu's eyes were drawn to the lollipop that Ziya pointed out, smiling brightly as he too recognized the resemblance. Could they try some? Elazu once again fished out his coin pouch, peering inside of it to see if he had enough money to treat himself and his new friend. A satisfied grin crossed his face as he realized that he did have enough, and that it was time for some candy.

" Come on," he said excitedly, launching himself at the door in order to push it open enough for them to walk inside.

midnight_medea
Ziya was further amazed when they stepped into the shop. The place was amazing, like ... well, he wasn't sure what it was like but it was very interesting. There were so many colours, they reminded him of the festivals at his camp. The colours of the dancers skirts and scarves.

"WOW" He said as he looked around at all the excited children screaming at their parents to buy them some of the sweet goodness. This candy stuff must be better than gold. he thought to himself.
"Do you eat candy every day?" he asked, looking back to Elazu.

Sika-chan
Elazu skipped in automatically gluing himself to the counter display. He peered through the glass at the chocolates, fudges, chocolate covered raisens and strawberries with amazement for they never had this much stuff out whenever he happened to visit, perhaps it was a special day or something.

The store manager kindly asked him to step back from the display glass that he was starting to fog up and dirty with his fingers prints. He smiled and stepped back, turning toward Ziya as he addressed him.

He shook his head, moving toward Ziya to see what he had been looking at. " I don't get candy very often. Only when I sneak away from my older brother or we happen to walk by dis place do I gets candy." And it was true! Due to one of his brothers, who did not mix well with candy, there was nothing sugar based in the house. It upset him sometimes, but then again it wouldn't be such a nice treat if he could have it all the time.

midnight_medea
Ziya smiled and watched another child whining for candy across the store.
"I don't gets candy." he said, continuing to gaze in wonder. "Maybe some cakes, but no candy." He smiled and shrugged, wishing he had been allowed some money like Elazu.
"My mum and dad only like booring foods."

Sika-chan
Elazu fished inside of his money pouch as he listened to Ziya, what could he and his new friend possibly buy? So he wasn't the only one who didn't get candy on a regular basis?

" I dun get to eat candy very much. My older brother, Kisten, acts funny after he eats it. He made such a mess once!" He nodded as if to confirm his own statement. " So my mommy said that we can't have candy in da house no more." He shrugged, hopping back to the glass display case.

" What candy you wants? I'll buys it, my treat." He snickered at his own attempt at a joke.

midnight_medea
Ziya now eyed the candy with suspicion. What if it made him act funny too. he did not want that to happen.
"Is it dangerous?" he asked Elazu as he eyed the lolly he wanted. "I wants that one, but not if I is going to act funny." He grinned a little at Elazu's joke and went back to watching all the children around him. They didn't seem to be going crazy.

Sika-chan
Elazu snickered at Ziya question, but then paused as he thought about it. Did the candy make him act funny too? Not really, just gave him a burst of energy then made him tired later. He shook his head, eyeing the candy in the glass display again, maybe he wouldn't get chocolate maybe something that would last him longer.

" My brother only acts weird I guess, 'cause candy doesn't make me act funny. Doesn't make my other brothers act funny eithers." He made his way toward a shelf with packaged red licorice, now that looked good.

~ Raziel Gets Hold of Elazu~
PostPosted: Mon Feb 05, 2007 2:25 pm

Golden and Grey
It was a regular day of errands for Logan and Ryder, the only reason for them being in the grocery store is the fact that there was absolutely no food left in the house.

"Hey Ry, let's just grab a cart and head over to the meat section. You can look around if you want.."

Ryder just nodded. He was mentally preparing for a day of absokute boringness..

Sika-chan
" Eggs?"
" Check!"
"Milk?"
" Check, mama!"
" Broccoli?"
" Eeewwwwww," a long pause. " They gots losted."

Risika peered up from her list, an eyebrow arched in question as her eyes met Elazu's. They soon darted toward the shelf behind him, where the baggy of broccoli had apparently gotten 'lost.' She sighed and reached out for them, grabbing hold of the plastic bag and tossing them back into the cart. She grinned widely at a disappointed Elazu. " Found them." She swore she was going to break this hatred of veggies sooner or later.

Placing her hands on the cart handle, she pushed the unruly thing into motion, holding out the list to Elazu. " So whats next on the list?"

Elazu grabbed the list, peering at the next uncrossed word. He squinted his eyes, as if barely seeing it would make it easier for him to read.
" Sound it out hunny," Risika smiled down at him, her tail flicking around to pat his head.
"Sssssst....rrraaaaw.....bbbbbeeerrrrr......eees. St-strawberries?" Elazu peered up at his mother hopefully, grinning widely at her proud smile and reasuring nod.

Golden and Grey
Hmmm, responsible parents had their kids eat fruits and vegetables right? Well, try as he might, Logan could not be classified as a "responsible parent" but he tried his best and it showed. As they were walking past the produce, a small parent-child couple caught his eye. Not because they were loud or anything, but becasue the child had a tail!

"Hey Ryder, is it just me or does that kid over there have a tail?"

Unfortunately, no one heard him say anything. Ryder was already at the child ready to do, well, whatever he wanted to.

"Please please please don't hurt him!"

WOW! THE KID HAD A TAIL! Ryder wondered if something happened if he pulled it..

Well, no other way than tofind out yourself! Ryder approached the odd child.

"HI! I RYDER! YOU HAVE A TAIL! CAN I PULL?"

Sika-chan
Risika hummed as she took over the small plastic containers of strawberries, tapping her chin in thought. Which one looked the best, or rather which one looked like it was filled with the most ripe and unbruised ones? Her question was soon interrupted as she heard a voice beside her that wasn't Elazu's. She peered down at the newcomer, a brow arching in question yet again. The child was bright! And not in the smart sense, but in the blink a few times before you can get used to it, bright. She had a feeling that her eyebrow was going to get some exercise today.

Elazu peered at the smaller child who approached him, his hand instinctively going toward Risika's pant leg for protection. He wanted to pull his tail? Was he mad?
As if to answer the newcomer's question, Elazu's tail slithered around his waist for protection, he did not like his tail being touched, especially not pulled. But scared or not for his tail's life, he never forgot his manners.

" No silly, that would be not nice."

Golden and Grey
Logan followed, out of breath, and huffed and puffed as he reached the unusual pair.

"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry if he's caused any trouble or anything, really he's a good kid but he's just so distractable that I think he's ADD or something..."

"Oh"

He asked nicely didn't he? So why shouldn't he be able to play with the funny tail? After all, even Logan said if you ask nicely, you can have whatever you want..

Sika-chan
Risika's gaze was slowly turned toward the man who had approached them. She figured he was this child's caretaker, especially as a slew of apologies flew from him about the bright child. Defiantly his caretaker.

She smiled softly, waving her hand dismissively in the air. " Not a problem. And he's a baby," her eyes trailed over the younger child, "of course he's going to easily lose focus. My kids were all the same as babies."

Elazu kept a hand secured to Risika's pant leg, watching the other child carefully. It had seemed that the younger boy had accepted his answer of no, but he still didn't quite trust the boy to not at least try to grab it, he certainly looked like he wanted to. Nevertheless Elazu extended his free hand toward the boy.

" I'm Elazu."

~ A Trip To The Zoo!~

The Great Zoo Adventure
PostPosted: Wed Feb 14, 2007 9:33 pm

~First Snow~

Four boys, along with a small fox, stared outside of a large window. The window was usually a fairly clean and clear one, but now it was fogged from their breaths. They were mesmerized by the white blanket of snow that seemed to have covered everything outside, even the car was buried! This was nothign compared to the frost they had experienced a few months earlier.

" What do you think it is?" Kisten had apparently been able to come out of his daze, and his brothers soon followed as his question shook them form their dazes as well.

" I dunno," replied Elazu. He put his hand on the window, wiping away the fogginess so they could see again. He pulled his hand back and looked at it oddly. " But its cold," he excalimed, placing his hand upon Fawkes' cheek. Fawkes squeaked in surprise, scooting away from Elazu with a small glare.

" Don't do that Elazu," he muttered. Rouge, the small fox, sat up on his shoulder, placing her body against his cheek in order to warm it back up. Fawkes smiled and patted her head.

Only Trent stayed silent during their small conversation. The snow was new, cold, and a bit frightening, but it didn't scare him too much. To the contrary, he actually liked it, mainly because it was natural, or perhaps because there wasn't anything mystical about it. He looked over at his brothers, frowning as they bickered between themselves about what the snow could be. Perhaps they should just go outside and see?

With that he slipped away from his brothers, ignoring their calls of question and heading straight for Risika's bed room. He peeked through the cracked door, seeing if she was still asleep, and she was with Rex curled around her feet. He pushed open the door and slowly slipped inside, tip toeing toward the bed. He wasn't too sure why he was trying to be quiet, he was going to wake her up anyways right? As he reached the sid eof the bed, he paused, watching Risika sleep. His heart beat fast in his chest, he wasn't afraid to wake her up, but apparently his body was. So he decided to whisper.

" Mommy?" Nothing.
" Moooommmy?" She stirred, but still nothing. Trent huffed in frustration, his fear of waking her up quickly disappearing. He raised his voice a bit, tapping her shoulder. "Mommy?" Her eyes finally peeled open, glazed over from sleep, and then she sat up suddenly, her eyes wide.

" Whats wrong Trent?" Had he been screaming again and she didn't hear him? The lack of sleep has been getting to her, so when and if she did sleep it was a very deep sleep. She rubbed her eyes and patted Rex's head, who had been woken by her jump and crawled up into her lap. " Are you ok, hun?"

" Nothing's wrong mommy. Theres white stuff outside though." He explained his reasoning of waking her up, watching her reaction to the news. If it was bad, she would react as such. However, a smile crossed her face as she gently sat Rex on the floor before getting out of bed herself. She then picked Trent up, hefting him up on her hip as she made her way out of the room. Her movements were slow and tired, but she still smiled, and was that a glint of excitement in her eyes?

Once the pair reached the other boys, they had been mobed by the other boys. A flurry of questions and pant tugs as she looked outside the window herself, smiling even brighter. " Thats snow boys."

" Snow?" They all asked at once. Risika couldn't help but chuckle at their questioning looks. It was hard to explain with words, so she would explain it the best way she could, by taking them outside.

" Coats?"
"Check!"
"Gloves?"
"Check!"
"Ears Muffs?"
"Check!"
" What else?" Risika tapped her chin as she looked over the four boys. All of them had their coats, gloves, ear muffs, and boots on ( except Kisten, he has hooves and didn't need boots) so what else woudl they need to wear out in the snow?
" Mommy, mommy, mommy! Can we go now?" Kisten was hoping up and down with Elazu by the door, both trying their hardest to not just run outside until Risika gave them the ok. Trent and Fawkes were being patient, both watching the other pair with frustrated gazes. Everyone was bundled up as much as possible without makign them immobilized, so she supposed it was time to go outside. After zipping up her own coat and putting on her gloves, she made her way to the door, opening it up for the kids to go outside.

Kisten and Elazu instantly ran outside, jumping as far as they could into the snow. As they both landed they tumbled, giggling with glee. Risika held the door open for Trent and Fawkes, who were soon followed by Rouge and Rex, who scurried into the snow. Trent frowned out at the snow, hunkering down into the safety of his coat and scarf from the cold. Fawkes was intrigued by the snow, and seeing that Trent wasn't about to do anythign but stand there, he soon giggled and chased after Elazu, tackling him to the ground.

Risika smiled, standing in the snow next to Trent, watching the other boys play and also keeping an eye on their mischievous puppy, Rex, who also seemed to find herself in a pickle or two by just walking. Rex was safe for now though, having taken notice of Kisten being alone and going after him, yipping happily as she tried to make her way through the knee high snow.

A few hours of tackling, snow ball fights, snowmen creations, and snow angels, and the boys seemed to have lost the energy to even walk in the snow. Risika called them all back inside, promising hot chocolate and story time infront of the fireplace. This seemed to give them a boost of energy as they all made their way back to the house, throwing a few last minute snow balls before they got there. Once inside all winter items were removed, along with any clothes that may have gotten soaked from their games in the snow. Warm clothes place of the cold ones, and four sets of warm blankets infront of the fire, and it was story time.

Risika loved winter, and she was glad to see that her love had been passed on to her boys. They would defiantly be making another snow trip tomorrow, perhaps even take them to the sled hill. Time would tell.

Without light, shadows cannot exist. Shadows are born from something blocking the light, however, if there is nothing but darkness a shadow simply isn't there. As Elazu gets older, he learns more about himself, and ultimately what makes him real and different from what he used to be. With his growth, he is also getting special talents. What new ability is Elazu gaining, and how does this effect him? How does it effect you and those around you?

(Please be aware that these abilities are very limited and not easily controlled. As a child they will be noticable, but not as extreme as they will be as he ages. Please also choose only one ability to focus on. He will have one main ability and up to three sub-abilities as he gets to teen and youth.)

Elazu stood with his hands stuffed into his pockets, staring at his puppy as if to urge her to use the bathroom with his eyes. He had been standing in that one spot, unable to move and play in the park until Rex used the bathroom. Of course Rex seemed more interested in staring at the other dogs around her and wagging her tail, she didn't need to go! She wanted to go play with the other dogs, then perhaps play fetch or something with the boy.

" Reeeexxxx," Elazu groaned, tugging on the leash in his hand gently to show his frustration. Rex only looked back at him and smiled, as much as a puppy can smile, then jumped at her feet, gnawing at his shoes. This was going to be interesting.

Cerena
"Sit," repeated Taji as patiently as she could to the tiny colorful creature at the end of her leash that was most decidedly not a dog. ("Is too!" Taji half-protested and half-whined to anyone who had thought to helpfully inform her of this fact. She clamped her hands down over Cosmos' ears as they would say this, as if the very fact of his non-canineness would scar him for life.)

Cosmos did not sit. Each of his three tails curled lazily in opposing directions in the air, and he paced impatiently in front of the Food-Bringer's legs, constantly distracted by the perpetual motions of other dogs running about the park.

Taji squatted down next to him, briefly letting go of his leash to push firmly down on his rump, "SI--" but immediately seeing his chance to flee and romp about the park, Cosmos took it and immediately streaked across the length of the park, leaving behind a very confused star spirit.

It took her a moment to regain her senses. "WAAAAIT! COME BACK!" She yelled to her kitsu, setting off after him.

Sika-chan
Elazu had just about given up, finally deciding that perhaps he should just let Rex play and hope for her to need to go after playing. The idea would certainly be less boring then standing there doing nothing. He tugged on Rex's leash gently, making his way toward the gated part of the dog park, it was much easier to play with Rex if she was given her freedom. As they approached the gates, Elazu's ears perked, swiveling slightly toward the sound of a familiar voice.

All he saw was a fleeing creature he had never seen before, and of course the familiar figure who was chasing after it. " Taji?" Rex barked happily at the creature Taji was chasing, launching herself forward in order to tug Elazu toward them faster. Apparently its "oddness" made it that much more appealing.

Cerena
It was nice to be able to stretch his legs and not have to be yanked along on that long cord of string the Food-Bringer constantly insisted on putting on him before he was allowed Out. The chasing game was nice too; he circled around trees and darted beneath picnic tables in a playful, teasing attempt to elude Taji, which he did so very easily.

She was not very fast but she did have great reserves of stamina; she chased him into bushes, across the field at least three times, and nearly managed to pounce on the ends of his leash twice. She was just about to try and circle around the water fountain and cut him off before he could pass through a line of growing saplings before her concentration was broken by the familiar call of her name. Skidding to a stop, she confusedly revolved in a circle in an attempt to locate the source of the noise and finally saw Elazu standing some short distance away.

"Elazu!" She called back, temporarily forgetting Cosmos and skipping over to greet her friend and his furry companion. "I remember you!" She beamed at the young puppy, "You are rocks-y."

Apparently her memory was not as infallible as she liked to think it was.

Her kitsusagi peered out from behind a tree some distance away, tails twitching as he confusedly tried to determine the cause of Taji suddenly not paying any attention to him and instead to the other creature with only one tail. Feeling quite mischevious, he pressed his belly to the ground and began slowly crawling up behind Taji as she distracted herself with petting Rex, fully intent on pouncing the first thing that moved.

Sika-chan
Elazu beamed as Taji finally saw and recognized him, he was happy to see her again. Rex was just as excited, especially as the girl started to pet her, whoever gave her attention was defiantly a good human in her book. But who was this Rocks-y that this girl was talking about? She obviously had her confused with another pet, and she barked softly as if to state as such.

Elazu snickered at Taji, " No silly! Its Rex! Mommy let me name her after my brothers said they liked the name too. I was so happy!" But the young shadow boy's attention was soon drawn to the creature that Taji had been chasing earlier, and what exactly was it doing? He remembered seeing the kitties on TV doing the same thing before they--
" Uh Taji, waz dat?" He pointed at Cosmos then, a bit worried and yet curious all the same.

Cerena
"Oh. OH. Rex! I'm sorry, Rex!" Taji shyly scuffed one foot against the ground as she gave Rex (not Rocks-y!) a scratch beneath her chin to make up for her mistake. She scratched her own chin with her other hand, secretly wondering -- she could've sworn... Well, she was technically not that far off. Maybe she had misheard.

Finally straightening and pulling away, Taji obligingly turned and followed Elazu's line of sight to a prowling Cosmos, who, upon being spotted, immediately flattened himself against the ground in a long patch of grass and stayed very still. If it weren't for his ears, still twitching and swivelling to catch every pertinent sound, Taji probably would have overlooked him completely.

"Silly!" She laughed to her own pet before turning back to Elazu and Rex. "That's Cosmos! He is a.. a thingy. An.. um..." She tilted her head at an angle and thought hard. "Kizusssssag..y. He was a present from my aunt, 'n mama says he is a special cross between a fox and a bunny but I know that he is really the puppy I asked for for Christmas." She beamed proudly at her own wisdom before clapping her hands to her knees and making kissy noises like she'd seen Elazu do at the pet store to call Rex. "C'mere Cosmyyyyyy!"

Cosmos did not see why he should, except perhaps to bite her ankles like the shark he really was. Slowly wading through the grass -- the very tips of it rustling and betraying his path -- he cautiously approached the group. When there was no more grass to slink through, he finally pulled himself to his proper height and, casually sauntering up, poked his nose down and closed his blunt baby teeth around one of the ends of Elazu's shoe laces in greeting.

Sika-chan
Rex thumped her tail happily, pleased that the girl had gotten her name right this time, and especially happy that the girl had found her spot under her chin. The young pup's back leg suddenly started to move on its own accord, much to her own surprise, even though this always happened whenever someone scratched under her chin. So when the girl stopped scratching her chin, it was a mixed blessing to the pup.

Both Elazu and Rex's heads seemed to tilt the side in unison as they caught sight of Cosmos. He was a puppy? He certainly didn't look like one! But if Taji said he was, then he was. Elazu squatted down to get a closer look at Cosmos as the 'dog' decided to chew on his shoelace. " Hi Cosmos! Yur a colourful puppy, yes you are." His voice was the tone one would have when talking to a baby, it was the tone he often used when he first met animals, for it always seemed to make them happy whenever he did.

Cerena
Cosmos gave him a Look as if to say do you really expect me to understand the noises coming from your mouth, you silly thing? He nevertheless dropped the shoelace and casually rubbed himself against Elazu's legs -- perhaps as much a display of affection as it was an excuse to promptly mark the boy as his property.

"Good boy," Taji said, immensely relieved that he was not weeing on her friend's leg like that other time with the mean lady who smelt like fish but nevertheless did not deserve to be wee'd upon. Picking up the end of the kitsu's leash while he was distracted, Taji explained to Elazu, "I am trying to teach him to sit, but he does not want to sit. He runs instead! Silly boy. Does Rex know any tricks yet?"

Sika-chan
Elazu beamed, running a hand over the kitsu's back, scratching right at the base of his tails. He had learned that kitties really liked that, and even though Taji called Cosmos a puppy, Elazu was pretty sure she was mistaken.

He stood back up, tapping his chin in thought. Did Rex do tricks? He remembered his mommy trying to teach her tricks, maybe he should just try. He turned on Rex, who merely looked up at him with a smile, her tail wagging gently.

" Sit!" Rex's head cocked to the side, a confused look on her face. Why was he telling her to sit? She was already sitting! She whined slightly, trying to verbalize her confusion. Elazu snickered at himself, realizing that she was indeed already sitting, so what could she do while sitting? He reached his hand out, palm up. " Shake." Rex reached up, placing her paw in his hand. There she did it!

Cerena
Cosmos errupted into a very loud purr at the skritches, his spine arching to bring his tush up higher for more easily-distributed scratchings. Taji watched obliviously and without comment, perhaps thinking that all dogs purred and ate fish. Like bears did! All animals were pretty much to same to her, even after their zoo adventure -- big and furry (except for, you know, fish. And bugs. And birds. But they weren't animals.)

She giggled at Elazu's mistake, and wow'd in awe when Rex lifted her paw to shake. "Good girl, Rex!" She cheered, and to Elazu said brightly, "That's so cool! I wonder if Cosmos can do it. C'mere Cossy!"

Clearly this was the signal for, instead of Cosmos approaching Taji, the latter to approach the former, so the Kitsu sat and waited for Taji to do so. She crouched down next to him and held up her hand like Elazu did. "Shake!"

Cosmos stared at her blankly, then reached forward and nuzzled her proffered hand with a wet nose. Finding no treats concealed within, he lost interest and skulked off a little ways, keeping a careful eye on Rex.

Sika-chan
Defiantly a kitty. Silly Taji. Elazu patted Rex on the head, glad that she knew what he was asking for and was able to show off a bit. Rex was just a little smug, having watched Cosmos not only ignore the command, but then walk away from Taji. Cosmos was a cat, or at least an odd one, and it took all of her will power not to bark and chase after him. She would not get in trouble, and her good behavior usually meant treats, which she knew were stored away in Elazu's pocket. It didn't bother her that he hadn't given her one for the shake, for she knew he'd remember sooner or later.

Elazu watched Cosmos, a thought crossing his head. He fished out the treats from his pocket, holding one out to Rex, see he didn't forget, then placed another in his closed fist. He saw his mother do this when she was first training Rex, so maybe it worked on Cosmos too. He squatted down, holding out his closed fist, making sure that Cosmos knew he would have to work for the treat to be revealed.. " Sit."

Cerena
Ooh. The Not!Food-Bringer had something in his hand. Cosmos at first feigned indifference, munching thoughtfully on some blades of grass that turned out to be less than tasty. He returned to Taji's side in a very roundabout way, butting his head against her legs and rubbing up against her, before finally meandering over to Elazu in a way that suggested that he didn't really mean to be there, the other boy was just in his way.

He sniffed very carefully at Elazu's hand to make sure that there was no decieving here like the Food-Bringer had done. He definitely smelled something -- not at all his usual fare, but food was food and he wanted it. He made a barking noise, surprisingly enough -- perhaps this was where Taji's confusion primarily lay -- and pawed at Elazu's hand, clearly telling him to open it and give the treat up.

"I don't think Cossy is as smart as Rex," Taji said doubtfully in the background, earning a very ire flick of his tails from Cosmos. "He's always makin' the other dogs mad, too. But Rex is a very good girl and will be nice, won't she?" She grinned and busied herself petting Rex again, paying her the attention that Cosmos currently took from Elazu.

Sika-chan
Elazu was a very stubborn boy, and didn't exactly give up that easily. With his brow knitted in concentration he took his hand away from Cosmos, holding the treat up to his chest as he made eye contact with him. He would get the treat as long as he would just...
" Sit."

Rex watched Elazu, her tail wagging slightly behind her, but her attention was grabbed by Taji as she felt the pet, turning her puppy face toward her and panting happily, nudging her hand and moving closer to the girl. She liked this human, she petted her nicely!

~ Little Bunny fufu...: Quest Part 1~

Elazu and Aubrey sat in a mostly dark room, save for the lamp with a missing shade placed in between them. Aubrey stared at the wall, watching the shadows cast upon the wall by Elazu. A game of shadow puppets was in play and the young boy was sitting on his knees, a finger tapping his chin in thought, Aubrey had just finished his turn, having made a flying bat with both of his hands put together, how would he beat that?! Then a devilish grin popped on his face. He put his left hand in front of the lamp his hand in the " V for victory!" gesture as he moved it up and down, twitching his two fingers from time to time.

" Look Aubrey! Its Lil' Bunny Fufu!" And of course the song was called for after this announcement, and so the young boy did as such. " Little bunny Fufu, was hopping through the foooorest, pickin' up the field mice and--"

Aubrey scoffed, reaching forward with his right hand, putting his fingers straight, yet pulling his index finger back and his thumb straight up. The dog face loomed upon the bunny mid song and with a mere twitch of the pinky and a good hand slapp, " And the vicious dog eats Little Bunny Fufu!" he cawed, chuckling as he put his hands back into his lap. " Come on Laz, you can do better than a bunny rabbit."

Elazu frowned, his bottom lip pushed out in a pout. He had thought that the bunny was good, but after obviously being defeated by the dog shadow, it apparently wasn't. He tapped his chin again in thought, what would scare a dog away? Not too much, as he had learned from their own dog, Rex. Oh but what about that dinosaur in those movies that their mother had them watch? The one that could spew lightning and made people run around screaming and was really, really tall! Surely he would scare a dog! But how would he do it? How could he create that shadow?

Elazu frowned in concentration as he put his hands together, wiggling his fingers from side to side as he tried to recreate the monster that he knew would win. But after a few moments of trying and failing, he figured that he couldn't do it. Aubrey chuckled at his side. " Come on Laz, I got this game in the bag."

Elazu frowned deeper, turning toward Aubrey with his hands still held up in front of the lamp light. " Shut up Aubrey! If I could do it Godzilla would defeat yur doggy face so good. He's so tall and spikey and green and-" As the young boy began describing the ancient dinosaur, the shadow that was cast from his hands began to flicker against the wall, and Aubrey noticed this, but how could this be possible? They were using a lamp, not a candle, so the shadow should be solid.

" And BIG, and loud and vicious! And-" Aubrey's eyes began to grow wide as he watched Elazu's shadow puppet form into exactly what Elazu was describing, and was slowly making its way toward Aubrey's dog shadow, tossing its head back with its mouth wide open as if it were screeching. Aubrey had half expected it to, and flinched, waiting for the loud scream, but nothing came.

" And he would shoot lightning! And yur doggy would be defeated!" Aubrey watched, dumbfounded as the Godzilla shadow puppet began to spark, then a flurry of lightning bolts flew toward the dog shadow. Aubrey gasped, pulling his hand back as if he had been burned, and after looking at his hand, saw that he had a small burn mark on his palm. What the hell just happened?

" Okay Laz, you win."

" Alright!" Oblivious and innocent, knowing nothing of what had just happened as he threw his arms into the air, his shadow puppet slowly disappearing from the wall.

Elazu stood, staring wide eyed at the goat in front of him. Not a few moments earlier he could have sworn the goat bleated at him funny, so of course a staring contest was in order, and so far the goat was winning. Elazu's eyes began to ache as he continued to stare at the goat, while the goat seemed to think this was funny and merely stared right back as he chewed tiredly on some hay. Elazu would not lose to this goat.

Glass Crow
"I can't believe I got lassoed into this."

"Your fault for losin' th' coin-toss."

"Yes, Uziri. Thank you for the reminder."

Oliver was not a sociable person at the best of times. And now that he was trapped babysitting the larva for the day while Iz went to do..whatever the hell he did when he was off on his own...he was not happy about it.

Uziri, on the contrary, was very happy. She was holding Irizu's hand, smiling and acting as though the world was in fact made of candy and bunnies. The petting zoo had been a most excellent discovery that she took credit for taking, and now that Oliver was busy complaining to Irizu's Fuzzy Man and paying for entry, she tugged at her sister's sleeve and pointed.

"We are sneakin' in," she said importantly, leading Irizu to the open gate and making a beeline towards a baby pig.

Rabid Ice Weasel
"It won't be so bad," Opec shrugged, standing beside Oliver as he paid with his hands shoved in his pockets. Truth be told, he was actually kind of frightened to view these...Gaia-creatures.

"Anyway, you have meee~"

Irizu giggled as she was pulled into the petting zoo, squeezing her sister's hand tightly. Had she known what bunnies were, she probably would have agreed with Uziri's view on life.

"Ooh!" she cried out upon seeing the small pink creature, "Whassat?!"

Sika-chan
Elazu's ears perked and swivled slightly as he heard a girl's cry of glee. There were other kids here? The moment of thought made him weak apparently, for his eyes chose that to be the time to blink, making the goat bleat mockingly.

" Aawww shoot!" He frowned, waggling a finger at the goat. " I get chu next time." The goat merely bleated again, and moved right along to a small patch of hay, the child was no longer interesting nor did he have any food pellets. Elazu huffed then turned his attention toward the noise that had made him blink. He saw to girls clustered around a pink blob, what the heck was that thing?!

Elazu quickly made his way over to the two girls, peering over their shoulders in order to get a good look at the pink creature, his tail flciking excitedly behind him.

" Waz dat?"

Glass Crow
"Hnf," Oliver replied, shaking his head and shelling out the last of his cash. Ten dollars to get in to see animals that would one day serve as breakfast? What a rip.

"It's a man-a-tee," Zee said sagely, nodding. "I saw one on the TV. They breathe the fire and hotness."

Clearly Zee hadn't been paying very close attention when she'd been watching the television. She glanced over her shoulder, at first uninterested, then did a bit of a double-take.

"Why do I know you," she said to the new kid, brow furrowed. She could've sworn she recognized him from somewhere...

Rabid Ice Weasel
Opec had learned to not take Oliver's noises of distaste to heart any more.

"The larvae have disappeared," he stated simply, whirling about in an attempt to find them. Spotting the children with a little boy, he relaxed.

"Oh," Irizu nodded and then looked to the boy. She certainly didn't know this child, and the fact that Uziri had been meeting people without her made the toddler extremely jealous. Her brow furrowed in anger and the skulls on her necklace began to glow faintly.

Sika-chan
" A manatee? Nono! Manamatees are grey blobs that live in rivers silly." He nodded to confirm his statement. He had seen some while he was visiting his grandmother. They went down to a river where the manamatees hung out in the water, along with crocodiles too.

Elazu eyed the girl who had asked why she knew him, and was struck with the same question. Had they met before? His eyes trailed on the skull necklaces and purple auras that seemed to hang around both girls. Wait, purple auras? He knew this girl!

" Yur Zeezee!" He pointed at Uziri then looked at Irizu, pausing as confusion took him. " Wait no, yur Zeezee. Wait, theres two Zeezees?"

Glass Crow
"What? Oh, god-dammit..."

Studying Elazu's face, Uziri gave a sudden shriek of victory as memory kicked in.

"Zu!" she said, pointing him in the chest. "I 'member now! You made your han's diss-pear. Rizu, Rizu, this's my friend Zu."

After a beat, she realized poor Zu was helplessly confused. It was sad and quite amusing at the same time.

"We's twins," she said. "I am Uziri. She's Irizu. Easy peasy."

Rabid Ice Weasel
"Hmph," Irizu groused, crossing her arms angrily. She only made one friend, and only because Drippy Girl was melting.

"Zu stupit."

Sika-chan
Elazu grinned happily at the real Uziri, very happy to see her and yet mildly surprised since she had grown so much, plus had a clone! Or as she seemed to call it, a twin, but Elazu was pretty sure it was a clone. His head did tilt in confusion as the clone called him stupid. Had he said something silly? He was pretty sure he had kept his manners...

" Why I stupid? What I do?"
