natawa razzledazzle Doesn't definitately=definitely? Or was that what the point was? What does it have to do with the topic? Crimson said 'definately'. The point of this topic is to b***h about funny/irritating abbreviations. Oh, and there is no such word as 'definitately'. 3nodding Amen to that.

I'd have to agree it hurts to read "alot". Just one "alot" in anything can make the entire work completly discredited in my opinion.
That, and leaving the apostrophes out of contractions. You know, "dont", "cant", "theyre" (though usually someone who leave apostrophes out will type "their" or "there" instead of the correct form), "wont", and the like. C'mon, people, it's not that hard...

Alot, aswell, ofcourse, allright, etc., too. The pronounciation really affects the spelling. sad

Quote: A word formed from the initial letters of a name, such as WAC for Women's Army Corps, or by combining initial letters or parts of a series of words, such as radar for radio detecting and ranging. I don't think Magnor used acronyms.

No, no, "c'mon" isn't an acronym; it's a contraction. Like "Don't" and "Won't".
If it were an acronym, it'd need to all stand for something. Like Canadians Moving Ostrich Nests, or something. That's an acronym.
Contractions = Haven't [Have Not], Shouldn't [Should Not], Can't [Can Not] Acronyms = NASA [National Aeronautics and Space Association], MADD [Mothers Against Drunk Driving], CAD [Computer-Aided Design]
"C'mon" is also a colloquialism, which I love to use to spice up my writings. They add more interest than normal words.

Personally, I believe that the most irritating thing is misuse of apostrophes.. I despise it when the newbs say things like "shirt's" and "pant's." They don't seem to realize how stupid they look. gonk

You mean they don't? *Laughs* Well, I don't know how to make it more convincing to you, Natty milady, but it's true. Each of the letters in "c'mon" would have to stand for a word in order for it to be an acronym; it's a contraction because it's two words smashed into one via the use of an apostrophe. But we can agree to disagree, right? In other news: KagamiChan889 I am new to gaia and i need some help, i have nothing to wear and i have like no gold Why in the heck do you actually write out the word "like" as she did here!? I can *sort of* understand it in speech...it's a placeholder. Something you say when you need to figure out what to say. But typing? Grr, that's annoying.
