Faerra looks up as Tao pops above her head from between, chittering to her with an image of a dragon. Confused she stops, but he urges her forward. Realization dawns on her and she grabs some bandages as well as a jar of numbweed. Following the small bronze, her brows knit as she sees the condition of the dragon in front of her. The other working on it looks up relieved. "Good, help. Your flit was just flying around, so I told him I needed help. I guess he brought you." Faerra nodded. "Yes, you need numbweed?" She had already started anyways. The woman just sounds a yes, as she spreads more numbweed into the dragons injury. Faerra held the bandages. The blue had threadscore marks going along his wing, it had barely missed the main tendon. Good thing, or else this dragon would never have flown again. As it was, he would still need treatment, but he would make it with rest, and as long as the wound didn't get infected. Faerra began with the bandages, crooning comfortingly to the blue as his eyes whirled yellow in agitation and pain. "It'll be alright, she said softly, it'll be alright." "Apparently the rider didn't come off good either, got scored all along the left side of his arm." The woman informed her. Faerra winced in sympathy. "Poor guy." She glanced up momentarily, hoiping Tao wasn't making himself a bother, but to her pleasant surprise, he was trying to comfort the blue. Sitting on his head and crooning to him. She smiled, mentally thanking him.

Nae finishes salving the dragon's leg and smiles. "Go on... you should rest, that's a deep score." Then she turns and takes her pot of numbweed. Walking over to another dragon with a scored-off tail tip, she begins to poultice the tip, cauterized by the searing effect of the Thread.

Riordan was busy being sent back and forth constantly for more bandages and numbweed for the Weyrhealers. He also helped bandage the riders who came in with injuries, some almost as bad as those of their dragons. At the moment, he was wrapping a brownrider's upper arm with a bandage, having already spread numbweed on the injury. Finishing up, Riordan refilled the rider's wineglass. "There, now drink that." What he didn't mention, was that the wine had fellis premixed into it for the riders.
Sighing, the boy grabbed the bandages and numbweed he hadn't used and took them to the brown dragon who was bonded to the rider he had just treated. He winced at the sight of the injury, a long gash along the hindleg, but was glad it wasn't another wing injury. Those were the worst.

During her race to run errands for the Weyrhealers who were frantically trying to heal the rider and dragons that came in from the fight with thread Nevaeh looked around the bowl at all the wounded she had never seen so much carnage. Her eyes began to fill with tears as she ran faster to get more numbweed for the Weyrhealer she had been working with. This was to be what her life from now on if she impressed all this carnage would be here everytime thread came and someday it could be her. Oh what a horrible thought but it was true and she took it when she decided to become a candidate.
Now was not the time to cry when someone needed her help. Reaching the store room Nevaeh quickly grabbed a bottle of numbweed and some more bandages knowing she would just have to come back for them anyway. After grabbing what she needed Nevaeh ran back to the Weyrhealer weaving in and out of other people rushing about trying to help the best they could.

After finishing with the blue, Faerra moved around to other dragons, helping where she was needed and bringing numbweed and bandages. Some of the dragons, she saw, had not fared well. She winced as she looked at some of the scores they had. She shook her head, clearing her thoughts. She would have to get used to this. It was after all, part of what happened to dragons and rider. And it really wasn't different than helping hurt runnerbeast, except that dragons were bigger, and required more attention, and were more intelligant...okay, so maybe it was different. But they were still creatures that needed her aid, she wasn't going to sit here thinking to herself all day. She continued on.

Relek Relek gave a small nod and watched the wyrewomen walk off staring for a moment. then his queen flit Fereth and his green Prether came gliding over with sacks of bandages and squacked at him. there destination wasn't his shoulders but a few of the other helping wyrelings and candidates around the wyre, his flits had been delivering bandages and suture cords to healers. he turned his head to them as they flew off and noticed a girl waving, quickly he picked up his pace and ran over to her. "numbweed..." he shifted a few things in his hands and placed three jars before her. "if you need anything else just whistle for one of them" he looked up to his flits "tell them what you need and they'll find me" he'd been telling everyone he was delivering supplies to that. "anything else ya need?" he asked with a beaming smile, sweat was beading his forhead as he was running all over the wyre, his chest heaving with deep breaths, but he smiled because he knew he was doing much to help. he stood waiting for the girl to reply. Grateful, Feather opened one of the new jars. "Nope, that's all for now," she said, grinning back. "You, however, look like you're about to collapse from running all over the place. I'll tell you what: how about I run supplies for a while, and you help out here? If you need anything, just whistle for her." She pointed to her green flit. Recognizing that her mistress was making comments about her, Ivy wheeled down to land on a padded shoulder. "If I get too tired, we can trade again. That way, we're both helping, and can have a chance to catch our breath now and then."

Unsure of what to do , especially since most of the other candidates were already helping the healers, Gabriel decided to help in the kitchens. As he filled mugs and rushed them out to the wounded and those patching 'em up, he hoped that the incoming storm wouldn't cause too many problems for those fighting today.

Mel flies in and lands on Nae's shoulder, chirping anxiously. Leaning towards the open bowl and the Thread falling on the fighting wings, she chirps again. "Mel? What's up?"
I can fight! Let me fight!
Won't that make you infertile?
Not us, not us...
Nae gives a quick nod and turns back to the dragon as Mel launches herself off her shoulder and zips into the sky.

Tao nipped Faerra sharply, drawing her for the moment, away from her work. "Ouch! What did you do that for?" He just chirped and sent and looked up. She followed his gaze just in time to see a tiny golden form zip upwards. She furrowed her brows, was that...? Tao chirped again, confirming her thoughts, but his mind was quizzical. She wondered, where was Mel going? No sooner had she thought this than Tao gave her another image. Mel, fighting thread, trying to help the dragons. "Mel's fighting thread!?"She said aloud, maybe louder than she ment to as a few people turned to stare at her. She shook her head. "But won't that make her infertile...?" She was really just talking aloud, not really to anyone in particular. Maybe she should ask Nae.

Nae finishes wrapping a blue's leg, smiling and scratching his neck before sending him off. "You'll be fine, that should heal up nicely, and you'll be ready to fight again before you know it!"
Turning, she sees Faerra's consternated look. She walks over, one eyebrow raised, and follow's Faerra's gaze with her own. "What's up?"

Faerra turned at Naeryn's voice. "Wasn't that just Mel? She asked. I thought she was rising soon. Doesn't fighting thread make golds infertile?" Tao cheeped at Faerra, but his thoughts were too cluttered for her to tell what he meant. She wondered about this. She knew queen dragons couldn't fight thread because of the infertality issue, but was it the same with firelizards? She wasn't sure.

"It was. Apparently it's not the same with firelizards though. They can flame away and still have clutches, even though dragons can't." She sighs. "I hope she doesn't get scored... but she wanted to go, and it's hardly fair to stop her."

Naeryn "It was. Apparently it's not the same with firelizards though. They can flame away and still have clutches, even though dragons can't." She sighs. "I hope she doesn't get scored... but she wanted to go, and it's hardly fair to stop her." Faerra nodded. It was interesting how it worked, but the nagain, dragons were kind of the descendants of flits. Maybe whoever had created the first dragon had changed them from the firelizards a bit. "I'm sure she'll be fine, Faerra told Naeryn. Mel is able. She'll be able to dodge it no problem. She can beat Tao at acrobatics anyways." Tao just glared at Faerra, and then indignantly began to preen himself as if it didn't matter at all to him.

Nae chuckles at Tao's indignance. "Don't worry Tao, you're a very agile flit." She looks out at where Mel disappeared to with a worried sigh. "I hope so..." She drops her head and turns around, seeing a dragon with a scored back waiting for treatment. "Oh! Faerra, come help me with this one." She picks up her pot of numbweed and the rolls of bandage, setting to work.

Faerra nodded, studying the dragon as he came in. Going up beside Naeryn, she began to administer the numbweed in a thick coat over the dragon. Poor thing. Tao soon forgot his troubles as the dragon's keening got to him. Perching on the dragon's head, he crroned softly to it, sending comforting images. Faerra sighed in relief. Tao was being a big help. A calm dragon wouldn't thrash and upset themselves even more.
