Okay, so... guess what I got for Christmas? whee Dead Man's Chest!
I'm refraining it from watching it again; I don't want to overdo it and maybe get tired of it. (That would be horrible! Never, never get tired of Capn Jack!) But it was so good!
I'd already heard spoilers about the ending and that had me edgy, plus there's always the sequel fear. Everyone's always afraid of the sequel being bad.
But it was so good. Spoilers abound herein: Davy was just so cool. I mean, seriously. I dunno what it was: his accent, the way he interacted with others, his origins, that weird little popping thing he did with his mouth when he was perplexed... He was just fun to watch.
Hello, Jack/Elizabeth. I was wondering in the first movie if that was going to do anywhere. xd (I had always figured it wouldn't since she liked Will so damn much, but... Hm. Maybe the Powers will see fit to grace us with more in the third one.)
There needs to be more Jack's Crew love. The movie really wouldn't the same without Gibbs, Marty, Cotton, Pintel and Ragetti. I think my favorite scene with them was in Tia Dalma's place when they saw the black spot and went spit-n-spin-happy. Though the bone cage scene with everyone screaming was mighty hilarious.
And just out of curiosity: did anyone dislike Norrington in the first film but like him in this one? I didn't think much kindly of him in CotBP until the last scene when he let Jack get away; I always thought he seemed a bit too self-righteous. But seeing what that cost him in the second movie, and how dirty and skanky he got, and also how angsty... he was suddenly more fun to watch. And then he went all selfish at the end and delivered Davy's heart to Beckett, even at that point I was still liking him. Scruffy!Jack Davenport is more fun than Pristine!Jack Davenport, I think. Cause I also saw The Libertine this weekend, and I liked him in that too.
The last scene had me tensed and jumping almost like when I watched Saw for the first time. That "Hey!! That came out of bloody NOWHERE!" vibe that I love so much when I watch movies. I missed Barbossa, and seeing him again makes me all tingly.
*deep breath* I think I got it out of my system. I don't want to rewatch it like mad the way I did before I started this post. sweatdrop (That's good. I was bordering on driving my lil brother nutty. He hasn't seen it yet and I wouldn't shut up about it.)
Anyway, to comment on the latest topic: I also read that POTC3 would be the last Pirates for Keira; she just doesn't want to be Elizabeth anymore. Which I don't hold against her or anything, that's her choice. (Though I think her character is lovely.)
However, I should state now that if there is a fourth one and Keira isn't in it, I hope to deities that Elizabeth is not in it. I hate the discrepancies in continuity that results from cast shifts. It literally makes me cry. It would be regretful to lose Elizabeth, but I would rather she not be present if not played by Keira.

Do you have 1 or 2-disc edition? Here (in the Czech Republic) you can get ONLY the 1-disc edition. I'd like to know what special features are on the 2-disc edition.
