Sai isn't part of team 7, aka Team Kakashi. Team Seven consists of Kakashi-sensei, Sakura, Sasuke, and Naruto. He's part of Team YAMATO consisting of himself, Yamato-sensei, Naruto and Sakura.

I agree.. he's only a temp. in team 7. His real team is team Yamato.. or.. nothing.

when sakura and naruto first met sai, they didn't trust him, so i guess he wasn't really a member of sai because he does betray team at first since no knew who's side he was on. after that, naruto and sakura began to trust sai after they find out that he isn't such a bad person after all and so i guess in the end sai is really a member of team 7 or team kakashi.
