I think it's great to find female Magic players. At tournaments in bigger cities, you see a lot more of them.
The thing that probably keeps a lot of women away from Magic (or Warhammer, but that's a different story) is the large number of teenage males who play... and can't stop staring/flirting/annoying them... although not so much of a problem in our area.

I don't personally know that many female Magic players, however I did have lunch with the winner of the Atlanta Dragon*Con MtG tourney. Sadly I was unable to attend, I'm sure, going by a few peoples discriptions of the games, I very well could have taken the top spot.

People don't seem to think women players will like black, but I like it for the control... biggrin

yes we have one in our area. No she plays all of hr own reasons, infact she's one of the ones who taught me how to play magic! She kicks major arse, she runs an all angel deck, with proteus staff. ON TURN FOUR SHE CAN HAVE AN AKROMA out

The only time iv'e seen a female player was once in a small store thats the only instance i have. Besides that I believe that female players can be and possibly are as good or better then male player me being a male blue, red, or black player. Nothing ment by me being a male player siding with female players.

I've recently discovered the two women I have been teaching how to play(my fiancee and her sister) have been learning their lessons very well. I'm starting to have to struggle to win against them.
I'm rather proud of how well they have been learning all the intricacies, and they have even been reading the comprehensive rules to learn them even better.

My girlfriend plays Magic intially it was only because I played, but now she plays because she likes the tournament scene. She has only been to a few FNM's so she isn't terribly experienced but we are getting there and she is beginning to see things better and not misplay so much. I bet with practice she could be better than a lot of players at our FNM she sure has a better deck than most.

the two people that taught me were awesome, one was a guy and the other was a girl. They both kicked my a** hard when they taught me to play. I learned everything the hard way, didn't untap before I drew I player that turn with no mana, and I got brain dusted.
thirdgame, I had mastered untap, upkeep, draw, premain, combat, postmain, end.
