Post in there and you'll see. They twist our words and b***h at us. I go in every week or so, sometimes just saying things against rampant teen sex (under 16) and I get yelled at.
Well, why were you talking about rampant teen sex in an abortion thread? Was it in an off-topic context, or on-topic?

Someone had posted that when they got pregnant at 15 and got their abortion that they had used all contraceptives then asked what they did wong. I told them it was having underage sex...and it escalated.
Well, for a start, their age is completely irrelevant. Sure, they may have been having "unaderage sex", however you define it, but that still doesn't affect the abortion issue.

She got an abortion at the age of fifteen. Why the hell should 15 year olds be getting abortions. See the relavance?
Yes, but if they had said they were 18, or whatever age you see fit to have sex, what would you have said instead?

He probably wouldn't say anything, considering that he's not spending time in the debate typically. And if it were an 18+ year old, there would be nothing special about the situation to draw attention. confused

So what place does age have in abortion, really? Does it actually matter?

Of course it does.

Age brings maturity and responsibility; granted there are plenty of people who do not obtain those traits perhaps as quickly as others, but that is one of the reasons the law places such importance on age. Certain ages bring about an importance placed on emotional/physical/mental maturity and the responsibility of ones actions.

So yes, Age has a huge place in debate or discussion of abortion.

But if we consider that you are assumably pro-life, does it matter what age the person is? Does that make them more or less deserving of an abortion? Or is pregnancy a punishment now?

You're missing the point completely. The law states a 15 year old should not be having sex, they aren't emotionally ready for it in most cases. We're pro-life here, we don't think ANYONE should have an abortion, regardless of age. It's just when a 15 year old girl breaks age of consent laws too have sex, it's wrong.

It's doubly wrong, I think he means. sweatdrop It's always wrong to have an abortion, but when the girl is not only having an abortion, but is also underage, that's doubly wrong.

yes, we think that pregnancy is a punishment. we do not care at all about the child at risk, we only look for ways to inconvenience and further enslave women.

we also wring our hands and cackle a lot, too.

Oh yes. I like to practice it right after classes have let out. 3nodding I figure it will be great for when I'm a teacher; There'll be a test, and I'll be sitting at the front of the class going, "Bwahahahahahaa..." and wringing my hands. ^_^

Oh, I will -so- do that. And none of them will get it, and I'll be like, "It's from a cartoon from when I was around your age." Either that, or I'll really act crazy for a while. ninja

But that would probably get me fired, unless I have tenure. Do middle school teachers get tenure?

@Seraph: We know. xd I know, at least. And that's just what I meant too. Although, without the weird cigarette-and-filter thing.

i don't know...but that guy Singeer i think his name is, who teaches in a university, the one who tells his students in philosophy class thats it okay to kill children before they can say "no," the mentaly handicapped because they can't say "no" and the age infirmed because they're old and senile...has tenure.
PostPosted: Fri Sep 01, 2006 11:36 pm

Yup, I know you can get tenure in University.

I wonder what'll happen when he gets old and senile. ninja

On one hand, I can understand the view that to end your life because you are old and senile is acceptable. But to allow someone else to force death upon old people? That's just wrong.

He'll most likely not care because he is personly convicted that what he thinks is right...even if it hurts society as a whole.
