I guess I had my settings to only allow people on my friends' list to leave comments. I changed it now, so I think it should work.

Err... A move you say? Well, I was only joking. You know how I like to kid around, right Adnachie? After all, I like to have female friends but a girlfriend? Hmm, I'm not sure if I'm up for one yet. I guess I should get one but, not online anyway and, at least not right now... mrgreen

So, anyone has something else to discuss?

They are great for families (Disney films I mean) but some (like Pocahontas and Hercules) totally skew history.

Wow, I havn't seen Herculies in a long time.

I love Disney films though. The songs are great.

Right, disney films have the most amazing songs most of the times. Who hasn't heard that "You'll be in my heart" song from Phil Collins? That one's from the movie Tarzan, you know... But yeah, I didn't really liked what they did to the Hercules story. It's true that Disney is mostly for kids so they had to butter up the story but still... What's Hercules without being hated by his stepmother, Hera?

Yeah, but people always miss out details when it comes to greek mytholigy. I read a book once where the Prince of Troy, Paris, was a Shepherd who was found and suspected of being stolen from Zeus.

People easily mess the stories up, it really pisses me off! I mean come on, why would the most beautiful woman in the world fall for a shepherd? Duuh!!

Hmm... Why indeed...

Say Adnachie, how's yer knowledge of Greek Mythology? Mine's pretty good but I don't think I've heard much about the prince of Troy.

Hmm, maybe you have...

What do you know about Medusa? My grandfather had the notion that if one cuts a snake on medusa's head, two grow right back. I say that's not it at all; I think he confuses the Medusa with the Hydra. Do you know about those?
PostPosted: Sat Oct 07, 2006 3:24 am

Well I'm not sure about Hydra, but you could not look at Medusa because is you did, you would turn to stone. That why her lands were filled with stone men, with a terrified look upon their faces. It was Perseus who killed Medusa, by showing her own relflection.

Some say Medusa usd to be a beautiful women that many men had hoped to be their wife, but she did very bad deeds. The most beautiful part of her was her hair. So Athena punished her by turning her hair into viscious snakes.

so your grand father may be right, but there loads of different versions when it comes to greek myths.

Well I knew about the snakes for hair and Perseus, he's quite famous as some games have Perseus stuff available on them. I think Castlevania: Lament of Innocence has an item called Perseus ring and it helps you avoid petrification 75% of the time.

Really? Many versions of the same myth? Weird!
