the Spleen-Eater

PostPosted: Wed Sep 29, 2004 7:54 pm

Fenrir Giraud
Though the loss of the precious volume was costly, MacBeth had never been a favorite of Fenrir's. His eyebrow raised slowly and he stood, bowing lightly to the woman sitting on his chair. "Excuse me, m'lady."

He jumped onto the second floor and landed as lightly as if he were stepping. He rounded the corner slowly and came face to face with the Spleen-Eater, about seven feet away from him.

"Good evening."
The Spleen-Eater regarded the master of the house coldly, with that dark grin still present on it's lips, it's teeth covered in a fine sheen of slick green acid. It looked rather ridiculous, clad in only heart-print boxers and a set of overly large boots. It's body was humanoid, strangely enough, a stark contrast to the elongated noggin of the creature. It was clearly something of which it's like had never been seen before. It's eyes narrowed, yet it stilll retained that slightly unnerving grin. In it's mind, a perplexing and twisting thing of bizzare Ideas and thought patters, it resolved to not reveal the ability it could speak human, and the fact that it ate the book was more than enough to stand by this fact.

Fenrir simply cocked an eyebrow at him again. He crossed his arms and stared back at the rediculously clothed figure, but then shrugged and walked to his library door, still not turning his back on him. He waved a hand at it and the door slowly knit itself back togeather, the antique wood regrowing and aging beneath his palm.

"It wasn't locked you know."

The Spleen-Eater watched the door regenerate, then, with a look of mischieviousness and disgust, It pulled a rather cartoon-esque move and ripped the door out of it's frame, and then, it's eyes gleaming, it swallowed the door whole. A moment after it imbibed the door, it's face contorted uncomfortably, and it spat out the three hinges that had been holding the door in place. it then grinned once more at Fenrir, a bit of acidy drool hanging from the corner of it's mouth.

Fenrir gave a sort of dissapointed frown.

"And the rest of it..." he said coaxingly, urging him to spit the door back out.

A small black cat slowly makes it's way up toward the house. It takes a look at the missing door and thinks it a shame judging by the other door that one should be missing. It notices two firgures standing nearby and backes away hiding behind the other door peeking in cautiously from time to time watching them curiously.

The Spleen-Eater looked at Fenrir sheepishly before spitting out the ancient door, now swathed with alien drool. The S-E set the door back into place before resuming his dauntless grin.

The cat blinks and runs in just before the door is replaced. Then hides in a dark corner.

Soul Emotion

Fenrir patted S-E on the head, smiling lightly, then waved his hand at the door, which dried and reset itself upon its hinges.

He bowed to his new guests, giving them his charming smile and his usual greeting. "If you are of kind soul, then you are welcome in my home."

He then turned to Niccea. "It is not surprising few have found my castle and myself, though I have been here as long as the other immortal, which some of you know now as Blessed Blade. He is a good friend of mine..." he motioned around him. "But consider the location. Most beings avoid this weather, the terrain of mountains and trees, my home itself is rather forboding. But I urge people to not judge simply by appearances."

He removed his pipe from inside the numerous folds of his great cape, and lit it with a snap of his fingers. The dark scents of pine and cedar were instantly, though gently, wafting through the air.

*looks at the bounceing soul apprehensivly* Blade and I are distantly related but a couple of generations removed...I barely touch the age of 50.

Fenrir gave a soft smile. "Yes, he and I are far older than you, I could tell." He puffed his pipe thoughtfully, the smoke shaping runes similar to Blade's. He gave another grin at the smoke, and then spoke again. "It's good to see another immortal, though."
