Every year I dress my avatar up for Halloween. This year I'm dressing up as one of the characters from that book (it's an outfit from a particular scene though specificly.) 3nodding Since the book isn't like Harry Potter or Lord Of the Rings or anything (meaning, not among the few massively well known books among teens currently), it's not likely many people will recognize the costume.

Ahhh well that is cool... me I am bored with halloween.... it is like the evil valentines day... only instead of exchanging love and sweetness... people try to indulge their darkest fantasies... really I am suprised that people even come to school on that day....

I looooove Halloween though while having always hated Valentine's day. Halloween is like once a year where it's perfectly socially acceptable to run around in just about whatever you feel like, eat lots of candy, sneak up on people and try to scare them (and they'll actually find it funny as intended instead of getting mad), watch a whole bunch of scary movies and all kinds of stuff like that not only without getting stared at condescendingly, but encouraged to go along your merry way and keep dong what you're doing and . It's kind of like once a year when a huge chunk of the population will drop many of it's often pointless inhibitions, and just go out and enjoy life. Valentine's day always struck me as too contrived. It's like "forget the rest of the year, on THIS day caring counts now and if you don't get some superficial typical social symbol from your romantic interests, they don't really care about you, and are a jerk and a louse and a cad."
I'd like Halloween made a national holiday that merits getting out of classes and stuff. emo

I love Halloween. I love dressing up and scaring small children, and eating candy candy candy. Yum. Valentines Day is stupid, I always thought it was a pretty pointless holiday. Yeah, thanks for the dead flowers. Next time save your money and buy me a good dvd and some popcorn. Or clean the house. Housecleaning is so romantic. lol

I mean we have Giftmas why not a different religious hoilday like Halloween? OliviaOblivia I love Halloween. I love dressing up and scaring small children, and eating candy candy candy. Yum. In general I have always hated valentines day. Mainly because on some occasions it was, on top of extra affection, be an a*****e to the loser ~Points to self~. I always find the commercials funny because there is always the side message, in certain ones, that it is the males job to give the female something so that she will practice breeding with them. Or is it just me?

No, that cheap message IS in those comercials. And Halloween isn't a religious holiday. O_o; Maybe it had a long back root in some old customs involving such, but these days it has no association with any religion at all.

True it is not 100% religious it is the religion is still there though.
Yeah I guess you are right really. I like the diamond commercial in the show Family Guy. It is one of those weird shadow ones... where the guy gives the girl a ring they smile and the girl goes down and it then cuts to the text "Diamonds: She will pretty much have too" xd it is sad but true.... I know lots of girls who will have sex in the prescence of very expensive stuff.

Ok, let me rephrase:" Anybody who's not like that crazy rambling drunken hobo on the street corner doesn't actually treat Halloween like it's a religious holiday any more." xp Only ridiculous extreme stupid people still go around "It's an evil day! Ye shall all be smited if you dress up to go get candy!"
Hehehe, I did think that comercial was funny. I myself have come to hate diamonds in most circumstances due to what they've come to represent and be treated as by society. Really, people took a pretty sparkly thing which could also have many practical uses and turned it into an obligaton and something that's a very expensive way to cheap out emotionally. It could be put to use in machinery to build the hospital that could save your life one day, instead you're nagging that guy to put it on your finger to show off to your friends and family or "he doesn't love you." And then from that point on, being seen as what was neccesary to placate once, it's now used as the easiest way to manipulate later on. Want her to do something? Make her mad and want to get forgiven as easily as possible? or as one comedian pointed out, just want to make her shut up? DIAMONDS! The answer to your problems! Not only that, but the SIZE and NUMBER of the diamonds counts too. If it's not big enough, it's not good enough........ gonk
