Since I'm the only live mod now, it seems, I'm going to take advantage of this thread and post some of the recent news posted by The Captain on The Victims site. If you don't know who The Captain is, he goes around with the band and... well... I'm not exactly sure what he does besides journal and video updates. But he played Santa in "Don't Shoot Me Santa."

Well, after spending the better part of June in the studio recording their follow up to Sam’s Town with Stuart Price, the boys took a week off to relax and have returned to the studio to start rehearsing for the string of live shows they got coming up here at the end of July and into August.

Everyone is really excited about the new tunes and now it’s time to put it all together for your viewing and listening pleasure. It’s been quite awhile since they’ve been out, aside from a two song set at a Las Vegas nightclub a couple weeks back where they performed ‘Mr. Brightside’ and a cover version of ‘Girl’s Just Want To Have Fun’ acoustic with a little programming assistance from Stuart to spice things up a bit, so it goes without saying there is a lot of excitement. It’s been a hot summer here in Las Vegas, but we were blessed with a few showers last week that temporarily relieved us. Now, it’s time for the rest of you to get a taste of that sweet Mojave rain when the boys roll your way. I’ll get back at you real soon as things start to fire up and keep you in touch with all the latest news as it comes to light.

Best,

Ryan ‘The Captain’ Pardey

Howdy. Well, the boys kicked it all off last night in New York City at the Highline Ballroom for a packed crowd of Victims. Many of you were there in attendance, it was lovely seeing you all and it was good to get the chance to say hello again after the long break.

There’s something special about just being in New York, so it was especially poignant to be able to introduce you all to my band Halloween Town in such an environment. You were all very generous with your kindness and it was an honor for me to have the opportunity to play for you all at such a prestigious event. We should have an EP ready for you all before the year is out and I’ll try to get you a few preliminary acoustic tracks before we go into the studio with our friends Jason and Brian from Louis XIV to do a proper recording.

Anyways, the boys played a couple of new tracks (Neon Tiger was one) and a couple of old tracks, including Under the Gun, which hadn’t been played in over two years I believe. The first time I saw the boys play that tune was way back in 2003 or 2004 at a club in Vegas called the Junkyard. I remember thinking they had a real winner with that one and I was always surprised it wasn’t a smash hit when success began to arrive. So… I suppose what I’m trying to say is that a good time was had by all and it’s always nice to go down memory lane with an old tune or two.

After the show I took off ahead of the boys to get started on putting together the big show, which kicks off at Foxwoods in Connecticut. We’re just tightening the bolts and putting it all together here so that the boys can put on a real sweet show here for you tomorrow. Red Romance will open that show (Old friends again) and the theatre here is beautiful. Come say hello and we’ll be in touch again real soon.

I'll try to post more later, since I don't know how many of our members are also members of The Victims site. Hopefully the journals will start to say things about the new album itself. ^_^
