Mystrunner *Strolls in.* Personally, I favour anything with Rincewind. 3nodding I prefer tales with Death myself... And Susan. And the witches. But those three usually coincide a bit, I've noticed. ...Mostly because DEATH is freaking everywhere...

Charmcat Forgive my lateness, I was busy reading Going Postal. . . . Actually that's a lie. I was only busy reading Going Postal for four hours last night and one hour this morning. I was actually being lazy/adjusting to week 3 of the return for college. . . . I'll go restart the thread now. By the way, thanks for sending me a copy of the original first post, Shishio! I also saved a copy to be on the safe side, but it was wonderfully considerate of you. That's me! Considerate! Certainly not a jerk like my MSN name would have you believe... ninja

Gah, you people are FANS. I just joind because I read some books (like 5 or something...) and they were fun... You've read almost all of the discworld books? Aren't there like 30 or something?
well, my favourite so far is Witches Abroad, that was my first pratchett too... I don't get how you cannot love Granny! xp Well, I just finished The Fifth Elephant yesterday, second time I've read that...
Since I'm not very good at english it's hard to read new books, so I just read the ones I already read one more time smile

I believe Going Postal is the 29th book or something. Next to of course the books which have something to do with Discworld but aren't really in the series. I am currently busy with Night Watch and still have to find Monstrous Regiments, but all the ones before I have read indeed. I'm actually hooked on the mans' way of writing. My fav. person is Death *grins*, I just like the way he looks upon everything. But I like a lot of characters and my favorite couple is Susan and Lobsang grins*.
Okay that was my intro to this guild, any more questions, just shoot!
Oh and person above me, what is your original language then? Mine is Flemish, but I prefer reading all books in the language they were originally written in. A lot of the humour and such can get lost in translations. At times there are a couple of words I can't get, but then I just skip them and read on without having a problem to understand it all.
Oh and for the group reading: don't take recent books as it appears I can't even find Monstrous Regiments anywhere as yet here *sobs*. But I would like to discuss certain persons, stories, ... .

Monstrous Regiment doesn't center on the Watch, so I wouldn't consider it Watch.
I do know that the American publisher has been billing Going Postal as the 30th book, and it matched up with my count.
. . . There are only two main series Discworld books I don't own. You heard me, OWN. And that's because I lost my copy of one of 'em . . .

I am swedish... I can read them, but it's really hard to get into new books. I kind of have to concentrate when reading, and that takes the feeling away... I also prefer reading in english, alot of the jokes get really strange in swedish... sad in withces abroad (i think) there was a joke about bear/bare montain. I got so starnge the translator had to add a little thing explaining why it was so bad in the bottom of the page... gonk

I'd just love to have a bookshelf full of his books... I bet it looks really impressive... and I love looking at the covers after reading them. and you see things that are in the story, and you can go 'oh, that's him? i didn't get that before...'
Love the covers heart

the original cover art is really awsome, but they do sort of make it hard to tell dwarfs from trolls. I have a bookshelf that's almost filled with books, and it's only his books.

meanwhile [What do you mean by "group reading"? Sort of sounds like a whole group of people sitting around a campfire reading out loud religious propaganda stare If it doesn't involve religious propaganda (Constable Visits being my least-fav Watchperson), count me in.

What? eek Constable Visits-the-Infidels-With-Explanatory-Pamphlets may be a religious fanatic, but I take that character in the context of poking fun at religious fundamentalism... I think he's hilarious (in that context).
