kendra stopped where she was and regarded the young man who had just landed in front of her carefully. hakari shifted on her shoulder, feeling uncomfortable. he had had no knowledge that this man had been watching them. kendra folded her arms and said quietly "who are you, and why have you been watching me?" she glanced at the wolf cub on the ground next to the man and smiled briefly.

Kendra's amber eyes glowed a little brighter, and she smiled, showing her fangs breifly, and looked down at the ground. "my name is kendra," she said softly "and you'd be right, i'm not exactly human. in fact, i'm not human at all." hakari, still feeling uneasy, took off from kendra's shoulder and perched in a nearby tree branch.

kendra watched the water, slightly fearfully. "that's quite a talent you have there..." she said, trailing off. she hated water, but she could swim in it if necessary. kendra held an arm out, and a trail of fire snaked its way down her arm and rested in her palm as a ball of flames, then swirled and out of the flames flew a dragon made purely out of fire. kendra clenched her palm shut, extinguishing the fire and the fire dragon.
hakari meanwhile was staring down at the wolf cub curiously from his little tree branch.

kendra blinked "i didn't know this was your forest...." she said softly, then smiled ironically. "but then again, everyone belongs somewhere don't they?" a breif sadness passed over her face, like the expression a lost child might have. then she smiled again and said "well, if you don't want us here, me and hakari will go somewhere else." she held out an arm and hakari flew over to her and perched there.

kendra chuckled. "i guess i'll stay a while then." she glanced behind her once more with a searching look on her face and added "since there doesn't seem to be anyone following me anymore." she faced tokai once more and sighed inwardly, thinking to herself, it'll be nice to be able to relax for once in a while....to be safe somewhere, to not have to worry about hunters in the night. hakari crawled down kendra's side and sat in the dust at her feet.

kendra hesitated, unsure of what to tell tokai. "well.....i've ended up here because i managed to get myself into trouble with some humans, although they don't know that i was helping them out, they're hunting me anyway.....because of what i am." she paused and sighed quietly to herself, then continued. "some theives had managed to steal some dragon eggs from their mother's nest....." her amber eyes burned feircely "i couldn't allow them to get away with it. i found out where the theives were hiding in the village, and burned their hideout to the ground. i made sure none of them survived it. unfortunately, because of the theives stupidity, many of the dragon eggs had gone cold and the hatchlings died.....only one was left alive. so i kept the egg heated and returned the egg to where it belonged. and now the villagers hunt me because they didn't know the people i killed were theives." kendra scowled at the ground, refusing to look up at tokai. hakari kept an eye on streak and told the pup -most dragons like me would claw your nose for poking it in where it doesn't belong. behave yourself young one.-

kendra smiled and took his hand. "i'm perfectly able to protect myself tokai." she assured him "i'm just worried that i might set fire to your beautiful forest. luckily i have my daggers, which mean i won't have to use fire. but i suppose that i could always do with some extra security...." she smiled with pure mischeif in her eyes and squeezed his hand then released it. "i promise i'll behave myself." hakari poked streak gently with a claw. -it was me you heard.- his mind-voice was amused.
