AFI is one of those bands I can't help but love. I was a little disappointed when they went mainstream, because that meant having to deal with little kiddies who walk around asking if you heard that "new band, AFI" and its like. Dude, they've been a band for some 11 years now STFU.
Anyways, I do like their older albums a lot, but I also like STS. I like the fact that they did something new with their sound for their mainstream debut, but it didn't involve sounding like everything else mainstream.
I think the only thing I DON'T LIKE is AFI's cover of Head Like a Hole by NIN. OH MY GOD DAVEY. I love you but I'M SORRY YOU WILL NEVER BE TRENT REZNOR PLEASE DON'T TRY.

I can't wait for their new album. I hope it's gonna sound like the Black Sails in the Sunset era. And I hope they're gonna tour. I really want to see them live.

I think A.F.I. has to be one of my all time favorite bands. They seem to change their sound a lot, but that doesn't really bother me at all, it just means that they like variety in their music. As far as albums go, I'd have to say that The Art of Drowning and Black Sails in the Sunset are the ones I like most.

They're halfway done with the new album. They said it's probably gonna be released this fall.

Although I've only recently heard of them, I must say their stuff is awesome. I particularly love The Leaving Song, Part II. Great vocals and awesome guitar work. Makes think up a sad tale of betrayal every time I hear it. And I think they're constantly changing sounds because they're always looking to sound their sound, their flavor, to find what makes them, them. And we the fans will be there to listen to every wonderful moment of it.

I don't think the threadstater posts here anymore, so maybe one of the mods can edit the front page?

ive been listening to afi for maybe seven years now. i love all there albums except for there newest(or i think its still there newest. i dont pay attention to there new stuff) album, sing the sorrow. when they went to dreamworks and off of nitro there music changed drastically. it just isnt the same. esspecially since there older albums. no where near it. not to mention it seems as if they are selling out to the mtv crowd. which is a bit of a shame seeing them at local clubs and venues to entire concerts... but still, i have faith that some day they will go back to there greater sounds. my favorite song at the moment by them is probably single second. "never ever felt so lost"
