his hand out streched and he strained. there was a BIG bright green one that looked ever so tasty. his fingers almost brushed it and he leaned out more. the branch his hand was holding snaped. he cursed mentally again as he tumbled when all of a sudden something wrapped about his ankle and he hung about a foot above the groun stareing at a set of feet. he looked up and up and saw the long tail of SK wrapped securly about his ankle. he semi unserimoniously set him on the the ground and winked once dissapearing into the bushes. he blinked watchign sk seemignly dissapear before his very eyes. the way he moved was almost mysical. he sat and stared in wonder... then it hit him.. zahar must be some where near... perhaps shed seen him already!

Artimis thought to himself. where he could hide... there weretn many places.. maybe he could jsut go back in the tree, besides... that apple was still tempting... no, he thought, that eould be stupid he muttered to himself. perhaps in the river itself... but what if the fish got free... he huffed and decided the apple tree was stll the best choice as it was dense cover that he felt was far enough removed from the ground to be seen. with the coice made he went to the side farthest from the river and began climbing carefully so that he could survey the area. but NO apples.

he sate and stared out toward the river. he thought he was so clever being back from the river a bit. sk had said to fallow the river. zahar probably would fallow the river sohe should spot her sooner or later... of course if that were to happen... he didnt know what to do then..

there was rustling among a few other noises that dis not make sense. he shivered, maybe something was after him. it had seen him in the tree? maybe it had. he glanced around nervously. should he move? shold he run. SK had to be around somewhere. SK, i have to get out of my tree, sometihng is out there. im scared.. please help me. im sure i will lure it into the open, he waited another few seconds then with a commotion he lept form the branch to the ground landing hard and tumbing and rolling over. He sprinted to the rivers edge, ad spun on a heel, eyes wide with fear... to see.... nothing. not a thing move. no beast was comming to eat him. no monster was there to swallow his whole. he wondered where sk was as well...

there is nothing around little man. im the scarriest thing in this section of woods. relax... and by the way, your brash actions may have just lots you this little competition. spooked like a dear you ran away from hiding intead of to a hiding spot. look where you stand out in the open, defenceless and in a defenceless position. i can see you both right now and i know she will see you so long as she turns he head. you however will not see her. should this game continue, all the more fun, but i think zahar has won. he let his voice trail off thinking to himself, how comedic it was to se the two hunters scared of each other. from his purch he looked to zahar and how frieghtened she was, and smiled, "we will work that fear out of you yet lass," he thought to himself.

Artimis jumpped back, slightly startled by the noise of a voice, then burst out mentally laughing and ran over and lay on top of the fallen zahar, you may have found me first, but i got you, he joked before rolling off of her and helping her to her feet.

"good job you two," said a voice from behind the two of them, "so... whats this surprise you have for me artimis? and byt he way zahar, congratualations, there will be sometinhg special for you soon."

art ran to the watters edge pointing. look look!!

SK's jaw dropped, "oh my... you have scuds here... artimis.. you.. you trapped it here did you not? and," he looked over, "and you look like you split your head open a bit in the process, " he walked over and knelt to examine the wound.

SK looked to the others, noting zahars look of fear, " they are mean mean things... usually only in deep sections of a river or in the ocean... the feed on thinks our size for the most part.. larger in many casces..im impressed art. you are lucky to be alive if you were swimming with it..mind you, they shoukldnt be up this high... they are very intelegent as well... jsut ugly he seems pretty upset... and yes its a he.. it has two horns instead of one," he paused turning back to art, "hmm.. that might scar on you , good little knock."

arts eye twitched in pain as SK fairly roughly handled his head to examine the cut. he refused to cry out in pain though, thinking
SK might not like it.

he laughed, "they shouldn't be in this shallow water and are so big that the hump on its back sticks far out. the watter here is barely able to cover its gills. you would ahve seen and heard it coming. they are a prize when taken alive or dead by hunters though... never thoguht i'd see on on this plane," he said and raised his hand to scratch his head ni slight bewilderment.
