I have PHYSICAL proof:
In the Guide book for FFIX this is the first two sentances.:
Vivi is a young Black Mage who is asked by Zidane to join the party.
Although his past is a mystery even to himself, Vivi struggles to learn about the nature of the world and his destiny.

Karn1254 Dix_Infernal I've stuck with the fact that he is a male. No particular reason, it's just I've been lead to believe that for some time now. But I think you should play KH2 to find out. Apparently he has a voice but I wouldn't know because it doesn't get released in Oz until November or so. Vivi could be a male or a female but after reading that no one actually said "he" or "she" (or whatever) I might have to start it up again and find out. Great, thanks alot, now I won't sleep for days because of this. THANKS!!! xd lol And sorry for the Double post but Yes Vivi has a voice in KH2. It is infact played by a girl I beleive (if not its quite feminine) But that doesn't really determine his gender...after all look at all the other feminine square lackys out there. *looks at Clouds hips* Many guys have been played by girls in series. I believe that a woman played Yugi in Yu-Gi-Oh...but I don't watch that show so I wouldn't know that much.

Schmoe407145 Okay, throughout the game when I was playing, I always assumed that Vivi was, in fact, male...but after I heard a few things, I've started to quetion myself...okay guys, what do you think based upon his/her character, NOT upon how others in the game refer to him/her..."Vivi? HE went.." no, none of those pronouns...Okay, GO! hes a guy cause in 1 of the parts in ff9 zidane and vivi r pissing....so by watching the scene u no hes a guy

Vivi could go either way. He is niether male nor female
so he/she is like a reptile. The only diffrence between vivi and
a reptile is that hes not a reptile and he cant reproduce and its
the reproduction ablility that determines if hes male or female.
THough Zidane was also created he was created after the image of a human man and his sister was modeled after a human girl and I think
that they are capable of reproducing they just have a short life
hypotheticly so Vivi can like guys or girls and it wouldnt be wrong. so
to speak. And i use to think vivi was a guy when i saw that seen but ya
cant forget that there are no female black mages. Its Just mages.

Final King Vivi could go either way. He is niether male nor female so he/she is like a reptile. The only diffrence between vivi and a reptile is that hes not a reptile and he cant reproduce and its the reproduction ablility that determines if hes male or female. THough Zidane was also created he was created after the image of a human man and his sister was modeled after a human girl and I think that they are capable of reproducing they just have a short life hypotheticly so Vivi can like guys or girls and it wouldnt be wrong. so to speak. Now, a few days ago the PAL version of KH2 as released and I got to hear Vivis voice.
Well, at least in our German version he's got a pretty female voiceover (I was thinking WTF? )

Schmoe407145 what do you think based upon his/her character, NOT upon how others in the game refer to him/her This is true... in light of that I stick to my points... since they are what actually happened and not what people's reactions to Vivi... since those can be quite false, no matter how certain the person may be. And just to reinterate... those points would be: Maluc Fieri Gemelli Maluc Fieri I prefer to stick to the facts..... no matter what gender Vivi was made to look like... Vivi was still made and is therefore an it. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. To sum up..... for those of you with shorter attention spans than even I; Vivi was an it, the third gender. Then Zidane, Kuja, Mikoto and all the other genomes would be an it as well, since they are created too. At least in your logic. indeed however, Vivi was not created by a genome process he was made in a factory underneath that one village... I forget the name of it... so I'd disagree with your points since they are in fact properly created life forms and Vivi was not.

Well, at least in our German version he's got a pretty female voiceover (I was thinking WTF? ) xD Vivi's a kid, and sometimes male kids have female-like voices (I heard a few) . The voices get heavier as they grow older. I don't think Vivi's shy-like behaviour determines wether Vivi's a guy or a girl. There are plenty of shy boys, none of them are female!
