i read in a pamphlet handed out to me a while ago that due to the nonstop sin of humankind God has left the church and that when we worship we are actually worshipping the devil. opinions?

"No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to seperate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:37-39).

I'd add sin to that list-- there's nothing that we can do to take God out of our lives, much less out of the church. Like in the story of the Prodigal Son, all we have to do is come running back to Him-- He's waiting with open arms.

Hmm... well I'll join you in that question, then. Has anyone found that verse? (Sounds like something Paul would write... sweatdrop * But if anyone can pinpoint it I think we'll both be glad of it.

Well....if you do have faith you will get to heaven. Jesus loves you and he just wants you to be as sinful as possible (which is the hardest thing ever).

You mean, He wants you to sin as little as possible.... right?

no human knows when they're gonna die. what if i die this year? what if i die tomorrow? what if i die today? i'm not sure if i can get into heaven the way i'm living now. i go to a cathilic school and i was baptized and confirmed into a methodist church. methodism says that all we need to do is believe in Jesus (and other stuff but you know what i mean) and we'll get to heaven. catholicism says we have to confess our sins to a priest, take communion, and all that other stuff to get to heaven. i'm confused, and scared. what if they're both wrong? what if there is no truly correct religion? somebody help me please!

I don't know if anyone has answered your question or not, but I'm going to go ahead and say how you go to heaven.(My understanding anyway)

All you do is repent from your sins, and put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ, that's how simple it was for me, and alot of others I know.

Read your Bible also.

Just from doing that, there has been a huge difference in my life, and I know there will be a difference for you and anyone else who does it.

Well, I'm here for a little while-- there's stuff going on at home and it's... well, frankly, unhealthy, and I want to be as far away from it all as possible. It'll be alright; once the school year starts back, I'll have the university computers to use to stay in touch with you guys.

I Don't know much about Methodist and Catholics, but I'm a Baptist, i believe that if you believe in God and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, you'll get to Heaven...

Just remember this. We are all guilty of sin and deserve to die because of this, but if we ask for forgiveness and accept the Holy Spirit into our heart while following Christ's teachings, our sins will be washed away, forever. God will no longer judge us for the sins that we are forgiven for. There is no need for you to clean yourself because Jesus washed away your sins with His blood. As long as you try to live a holy(set apart) life for God you will end up on Gods right side the day of judgement. That will be a great day for us, you don't need to fear.
