When you do /sea all inv "your level range" and the perfect party set-up is right there for you to make.
You invite the healer, a few DD's then you ask the tank................NO REPLY! Then you ask the second tank looking! NO REPLY!!!!
Seriously, once I was looking for a replacement for myself, and 4/5 people were afk, I ended up getting a DRG to replace my SAM.

Shouting for Shiva fight, getting a group together, running all the way to Cloister of Frost only to hit the zone and get a fatal error. I couldn't log back on my character. So I logged in with another account to talk to a GM about removing me from the zone where my game crashed out. Not only did I not get any assistance, but he told me the only option was to reinstall FFXI.
That was a really shitty night.

Xzeno OMFG it freakin sucked for me last night. I was thinking of making arrows so I went to buy logs to make arrows. I was right in front of the door (in the San D'oria place)when someone tells me if I wanted to join his party. I said yes since finding parties is hard so I walk all the way back to West Ronfaure to go to Silbana. I finally get there after waiting like 15 minutes to be invited to the party then another 10 minutes or so running there, just to get killed by a goblin so I had to walk all the way back there. Now I'm finally there thinking I'm finally gonna get to Lv 13 but I had to wait for another guy that was gonna join so I sit down for another 30 minutes or so and the same thing happens to him. then we wait another 10 minutes and he finally comes back. Just when we were all together 2 of them die and we wait like 20 minutes for someone to bring them to live. Now we're all together again and walk to where we need to but I die and so do 2 others and one of them leaves. I'm on my way back there but got lost and the other one is still just lying there dead and just decided to break the party. I was like WTF YOU MEAN TO TELL ME I JUST WASTED ALL THIS TIME AND WENT BACK TO LV 11 FOR THE FIFTH FREAKIN TIME!!!!!!! I know it's months after the rant, but was that at the secret beach in Valkurm Dunes? Because that's my pet peeve: Party leaders who decide the secret beach in Valkurm Dunes is a fine place to level. It is, I guess, but only if you have a PL to get everyone through to it safely. stressed

But I've never been in a party that's gotten through that area without someone dying. Oddly enough, I've never been one of the dead. *shrugs*

valkrum is probably the hardest place to pt in the whole game ._.; you have bad armour, bad weapons, virtually no skills or spells, very little hp and mp (when things go wrong, they go wrong big time), AND its supposed to be the first party experience for new players so you have peple who aren't sure how parties are supposed to work.
The trouble with the secret beach is that you can never ever get anyone to come and raise you out there -.-; At least there's a handy zone line though.

I have a new one: People who try to force you out of your camp. I was in the area next to the zone for Yhoatar Jungle and there were no less than 4 parties camped in the area. 2 of them moved in after my group got there, and one of them was consistently bringing in 2 mobs for their party kill. In an area where competition was already fierce. This is a downright dirty tactic. Everyone wants to level!
I've even had groups say "We'll only be here for 10 more minutes. What's your problem?" when they've moved in on our very obviously one party only camp.
Then there's the people who start whining about the XP you're getting not being good enough, because you've stopped getting 200 xp per mob. They want to move on to the next level up area right now, even though it would be suicide with a party of that level with no PL. For what it's worth: Try chaining Tough mobs. You'll get pretty good xp as long as you keep the chains going!
And finally: You're helping someone with a quest/mission. You tell them exactly what to do. You say "When the door opens, go on through. I'll attack the mobs and keep them busy while you run through to safety." The door opens. You attack the mobs. So do the people you're trying to help. They ask "Are we supposed to go through the door?" Everyone dies. Not a happy time. If only they weren't relatives...

Ok so my friend gets on and i decide i need to level my whm, which was 16 at the time. So we head down to the dunes get a party of War, War, Mnk, Whm, Thf(him), Whm(me). Everything is going ok i managed to hit 17, then one of then my stupid friend decides to start saying stuff that shouldn't be said the one of the Wars(not incredibly offensive just stupid things) so the War becomes annoyed and logs out(I don't blame him for that). I notice there is a Pld lfp in Jueno and since my friend is the leader i tell him, so he /tells the Pld who procedes to take an airship and choco to the dunes which took a long time... so now, we are back to six people and everything is going ok, but what happens next you ask? The Mnk and the War procede to start voking the mobs off of the Pld. My friend tells them to stop, but they don't seem to understand and keep voking so hate is bouncing slot which is making my job harder and he is having a hard time landing a SA. Then we end up fighting a Goblin Butcher at some point in time, and his buddy the Goblin Leecher decides to help him so we run to the zone and the Pld dies in the process, who we have to wait for a raise for, because she forgot to set HP. After she was raised the Mnk had left who we replaced with a Blm, and out of no where people start complaining about the Exp (we were getting about 100-150 per kill) so they make the decision we need to move camp. So we start heading down to Whitebone, while for some reason the Pld, and other Whm decide they want to go the Siren half way through, anyways we eventualy got together at Whitebone, and I finnaly start hoping we can get back to exping, so my friend goes out to pull, while some thief asshat decides to bring a bogy over to kill us all me and the War got out alive, the Pld and Blm disbanded, because they were little crybabies so after that I decided to log out. On the plus side I didn't die once, but I could have gotten so much more exp going whm/bst and soloing good i hate the dunes. icon_stare.gif

Hokay, so i'm by the Kraken spawn in Qufim, waiting for the nightflowers to pop for the BST quest. And i get /telled for a Raise in the tunnel, which is fine by me, but I ask for 2k for the walk. And he agreed. Soooo, I get there, and it's a team of four /anon engrish-speakers. I raise them all, trying to make their gilselling jobs easier. But when I asked for meh 2k, the leader just... declined. And then tried ignoring me. >____________< This is the last time I assume gilsellers are just trying to put bread on the table. THIS TIME, IT'S WAR. D<

THE DUNES!!!!
I made a new char a while back, (hume) and got WAR to 40, MNK to 20 and un,ocked NIN. Ive just got NIN to 12, (got Utsumi and many tools) and So i begin the task of getting nin high enuf to be a sub.
What am i asked to do? Tank. As usual for nins.
The whm doesnt heal... he melees...
So im there dead.
Someone comes along as the lrds friend, raises me, and so i get back to tanking...
Long story short. the PL was barely lvvl 25, didnt know how to sya he was out of mp
I die 2 more times... and de-level... becoming useless and being kicked...
I HATE THE DUNES!

NINJAS HOW I DISPISE YOUR ARROGANCE!!!!
Ninja joins party, the summoner keeps trying to keep hastega up, exept the ninja moves away from it like 10 times, the whm has no time to cast haste coz the nin keeps loosing shadows so fast, the bard is casting march to no end and the rdm is REALLY trying to haste but has to nuke/enfeeble/heal aswell.
(We worked fine with a pld tank :/. Brd slept mobs ready wen current mob was at 10%-5% hp left and we kept a huge chain)
The nin finally says "Look guys Im a pro and you are obviusly all noobs but I need haste and Im not getting it so Goodbye" and he left :/
After that we got another PLD tank and we were getting chains and the nin just sat there watching us till every1 leveld in like 5 mins and he blurts out
"Can I join you guys?"
Alll i can say is
THIS SHOULDNT HAPPEN WITH A LVL 65 PARTY!!!!!!!
My Poor Puppet suffered so much ;-;
