Atsu had been waiting for his opponent's charge. In a practiced move, he sidestepped the blow, cutting it as close as he could. The stone sword cracked as it grazed along the evil blade and shattered as the hilts met. But it did it's job, they were in close combat now, and Atsu's hands were close to Tempest's. With the momentum that Tempest had, a disarming throw should be simple. He shifted again into position and grabbed for Tempest's wrists.

Tempest's hands arc away to the side, just barely escaping Atsu's counter attack. Tempest whirles away from atsu and then back towards him. Tempest's blade arcs towards atsu. His attack is swift and powerful enough to shred steel, but the speed and momentum of his movement denies him the ability to reverse direction and makes stopping very difficult.

Atsu follows Tempest's movments as he moves away and comes back in for his attack. He watches the blade's arc out of the corner of his eye as he follows Tempest's feet. As the sword arced toward him, Atsu dropped completely to the ground and rolled toward Tempest's feet, attempting to stop them suddenly while the rest of him kept moving.

Tempest is swept off his feet by Atsu. He hits the ground hard using a break-fall technique to lessen the impact, and then springs back up and on to his feet. "That was cute. . .now it gets ugly!" Tempest begins to rapidly circle Atsu waiting for the perfect opportunity to attack.

Atsu closes his 'eyes' and smiles. In his stoneform, every inch of his skin is identical to every other inch. The features are rather meaningless as he can 'see' from every point. He sits crosslegged in the middle of Tempest's circle, still with a peacefull, serene smile. "Ugly, huh? This has been fun so far."

Tempest observes how calm Atsu is and realizes that normal martial techniques will not be enough. "His body would be better suited for my powers. " He thinks. " This Taoist fool's body will break if I used everything I have, but this Atsu. . ."
Tempest begins to circle more and more swiftly around Atsu, becoming a blur, creating a circle of swirling dust. It is also a circle of swirling blades. A circle that is slowly collapsing inward. . .

Baozhong coninued following the chain of memories. Slowly but surely he could feel his qi beginning to return to it natural flow along the nerves in his body. Slowly enough that Tempest might not notice until it was too late.

From his sitting position, the stone that is Atsu begins slowly boring down into the earth, tunneling out of Tempest's circle. Leaving behind only an extremely thin, hollow shell of stone in the shape of the monk still sitting peacefully serene inside the whirling chaos.
This may be getting a little out of hand. Maybe I shouldn't have started out in Stoneform to start with after all. Oh well... this'll put all that training to the test.
