"Um... No.... Why would you think that?" Nicole was genuinely confused. Surely Toby knew that she would tell him if there was anyone else... But then again, she might not if she deemed it a terrible enough secret. There were a few things Nicole had neglected to tell Toby, but of course she wasn't exactly planning on telling him anytime soon. They didn't have anything to do with this topic, anyway. There were some secrets she liked to keep to herself. "Only Professor Monaghan. I'm just not really into anybody right now." Nicole knew she sounded guilty. She always did when accused of something, even if the allegation was untrue. She just tried so hard to sound like she was telling the truth that it sounded like she was lying. Whatever. He'll just pursue it for a while then finally lay off, only to bring it up again in a week, as always. Nicole inwardly rolled her eyes. Nobody ever believed that she was actually telling the truth.

Toby was a little surprised at Nicole's answer, althought he expected as much. She wouldn't tell me about it anyway. She'd be giving me too much amunition. "Okay, if you say so," he said simply. Trying to think of something to say, Toby yawned. He couldn't think of much to add to the conversation. He continued along, walking and thinking. Toby found that he could still find nothing to say. Damnit. This is so weird. "Uh... finished all your homework yet?" So. Lame. What the hell's going on?

"Naw, you know I don't do it until the last minute. I want to enjoy my weekend. Homework is too stressful. Not to mention boring." Nicole's hair blew into her face in the breeze, so she withdrew from her pocket a light green hair elastic and pulled her long, strawberry blonde locks into a ponytail. "Ah. Much better. Now I don't have strands of hair whipping my face with each gust." Though her ears were now a bit chilly, with the cold metal of her blue and green earrings biting into her cartiledge, she did like having the hair out of her face. "I wonder if Professor Monaghan likes my hair better up in a ponytail or down around my shoulders," Nicole pondered aloud, oblivious to the fact that nobody cared. "Maybe I should ask him... Wait, did I just say I would ask him about my hair? Man, am I stupid. I don't know where I came up with that..."

Toby was glad that Nicole brought something up, something he could grab ahold of. "Nicole. I don't know if Professor Monaghan'd prefer your hair any way -- considering it lies atop the head of a naive girl of only sixteen." He paused a moment. "I'm glad we had that talk." Toby thought for a moment. He had his fun, it was time to get serious. "Really, Nicole. You're his student. You're just asking for trouble. I just don't get it... I don't know if it's what you go for... Whether you just haven't developed that boundary or something. He's faculty. He can give you detention if you misbehave. There's just something not right about that picture." Toby stopped. Yeah, it was wrong. But it seemed she really couldn't help it. No matter how convoluted or strange it was. It'd be horrible of him to introduce such an idea to her about herself, though. Trying to make his friend feel better, he added, "But I guess we all have our preferences..." Her preference being older people in a position of authority, mine being male. It's okay. The last thought was reassuring.

"Yeah, I know, he's a teacher. That doesn't mean I can't admire him from a distance, though. And wish it could happen. As long as I don't act on it, there's nothing wrong, right?" Nicole used that argument quite often. After all, her thoughts were her own thoughts. No matter what anyone said, they could never know her thoughts unless she told them, nor could they stop her from thinking those thoughts. It was the one truly free thing. "He'll never know my feelings if I play my cards right... I don't want him to know anyway. It's better to just bask in his wonderful-ness. In fact, I think it'd be kinda creepy if he did like me. He'd be like a *****. Ewwie!" Nicole was actually quite repulsed by the idea. She always wished for him to like her, but she'd hate for it to happen. "Yeah, I like things they way they are right now. No creepy surprises."

Toby agreed with Nicole. Good girl. She's not completely insane. Dropping the guise of opposition, he reassured her. "So long as you realize nothing will come of it, it's okay. Personally, I don't care all that much... I just don't want you to be sneaking where you shouldn't." Finding he and his firend nearing the boundary of the Forbidden Forest, Toby thought of returning to the Castle. They're nice walk had lasted long enough. "I think it's time to get back up to the Castle; a change of scenery is in order." Not waiting for a response from Nicole, Toby turned his body and walked, staring at the ground. His ambiguous, meandering path would eventually lead him back to the Castle, which lay in the near-distance. "Back up we go."

Nicole followed Toby as he walked in the other direction. She checked her watch. It was now almost eleven thirty. Their walk had lasted about an hour, and Nicole hadn't even noticed as the time had flown by. It felt like only ten minutes they had been out enjoying the brisk air and exercise. Nicole breathed deeply as they strolled back towards the Castle. Perhaps she would return to the grounds later in the day to take a run. After all, it was such a nice day. Why waste the wonderful weather by staying inside? "I'm glad you approve of my interests in Professor Monoghan, providing I don't actually act on them. Don't worry; I won't be "sneaking where I shouldn't." It wouldn't be proper," Nicole reassured him once again, though it was more for her own benefit than his. She wanted to make sure she didn't have any crazy ideas left that would make her do something stupid. "I would never do anything like that," she repeated firmly.

Toby laughed. I wonder if she notices I really don't care. A raunchy teacher-student relationship'd be welcome. He laughed again at his own thought. No, it really wouldn't. Stick to you own age, Nicole. That way, there'd be no problems. "I'm glad you've developed that kind of distance. It'd be rather messy if you hadn't." Ouf. I just hope Professor Monaghan'd never let anything like that happen. That would be highly unprofessional. Just. Plain. Wrong. Frowning, Toby changed the subject. "Done the Charms essay yet?"

"Hell no. I do not want to do a stupid essay. I'm sure I'll have to eventually, but maybe I can postpone it long enough to enjoy myself for a bit." Nicole stuffed her hands into her pockets to keep them warm and out of the cool breeze. "We get way too much homework, and I'm too lazy to do it all. Plus, even when I do, I don't get good marks, so what's the point?" Granted, Nicole didn't always try too hard on her work, once again out of laziness, but she still believed that it did not make a difference how hard she tried. I'll pass anyway. Does it really matter whether it's with a 90 or a 60?

Toby laughed awkwardly at Nicole's logic. You probably could do better if you actually tried. Alas, this was a trait inherent in Toby. He tried too hard - at everything he did. How could he not? And there, Toby couldn't see it any other way. Sighing, he tried to forget about school work. Because school work always led to worrisome worrying. And that was not enjoyable. Finding himself several metres from the grand doors of Hogwarts Castle, Toby prepared to leave Nicole. "Anyways, I've still got an Ancient Runes assigment to occupy myself with. I'll see you later." He smiled at his friend, awaiting her response.

"Alright," Nicole replied, sad that her best friend had to go, but still rather relieved. She had her own things to do, as well. "I hafta go back to my dorm and write a nice letter to my father anyway. I'll talk to you later." Nicole smiled her normal sweet smile. Her eyes twinkled in the sunlight. "Good day," she said lightly, her customary goodbye. She turned in the direction of Ravenclaw tower and started off at a slow stroll. After all, it was a lazy Saturday morning. She had all the time in the world.

Coast was clear... Or rather, the lawn was clear. Of students, of teachers, of ghosts, etc. No one around except for the exceptionally tall teenager with a bowler hat, blanket, basket, and scarf. She tilted her hat downward against the mid-day sun and put all the things down to spread out the blanket she'd brought.

Gosh, she hoped Isis had gotten her message.

She'd managed to run into the first class with seconds to spare, fending off another detention she had yet to serve. After that point, she avoided three fights on her way to second and one more afterwards even AFTER the guy socked her in the kidney. Tollerance was something she was beginning to learn.

Nyx sat down on the blanket and flopped backwards. Now all she had to do was wait.

Isis had gotten Nyx's message...and was unable to focus during the rest of her classes. Her mind kept wandering back to a certain bowler-hatted ruffian as she played with the handwritten note folded up in her palm. Finally though her last class was excused; it was all Isis could do to not bolt out the doors and sprint her way down to the lawns.

Retaining her calm (and bypassing more then a few misdemeanor incidences which she otherwise would have investigated) Isis slowly made her way towards the lawns, checking constantly to be sure no one would see her and/or follow. Spotting the blanket and a large figure enjoying the sun Isis couldnt keep the smile off her face, walking the long way around the blanket to stealthily sneak up on her girl.

Making sure no one else was around or in sight she snuck up quietly, moving so her robes made almost no sound. Kneeling then slowly stretching out to lay behind the girl Isis leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to the girls forhead before pulling away, long hair shielding the both of their faces from view like their own private streen. Golden eyes sparkled and met green orbs as she hovered over the face of the other girl quietly, grinning before gently lowering herself to kiss those sweet upside down lips, once more pulling back and laying down to watch her girl with twinkling amusement. "Hey."

"'lloooooooooooooo." The once dozing teen purred out in a low, rumbling voice. Her eyes peered up at the beautiful honey irises and sparkled with joy. "Ah see yeh got me note," With smooth, slow movements Nyx flipped over onto her belly so that they could see face-to-face. "An' I also see I din' scare yeh off." Soft lips gently found their opposites and held them in a tender, chaste kiss.

Like a drug, Nyx needed her fix on Isis sweet lips and now she finally got it.

"Mmmm... I been waitin' since this mornin' teh get somma that." Nyx smiled innocently and withdrew enough to maintain focus on those mesmorizing golden eyes.

"Yeh hungry?"

Honey eyes fluttered closed as a familiar warmth began to tingle through her body, traveling from their connected lips all the way down to the tip of her toes. A pleasant shiver traveled through the girls body as they seperated, gentle palm moving up to gently cup the cheek of the other girl, caressing the skin with her thumb as she thanked her dark skin for dampening the blush on her face.

"Starved." Isis said with a smile in response to the question, eyes still locked on green. "But first..." Her eyes flickered coyly as the Ravenclaw leaned in once more, using the cupped cheek of her lover to her advantage, tilting Nyx's head just so to capture her lips once more in a slightly longer, tender kiss, pulling away just enough to lick and nibble the gryffindor's lip, eskimo kissing her as well with a tiny giggle as her blush was now fully visible on her face.
