Quiet Daydreamer Julian Starr, no less. And whenever Sakura said "Tori", I cringed in pain. Whenever she said anything I cringed in pain. Sakura's Cardcaptor's voice was soo not cute! >_< Of course that was overshadowed by Kero-chan's Bronx taxi driver voice. >_< *Goes off to kill something.*

Well...this was back when they assumed that being too Japanese was a bad thing, or too ethnic, for that matter.
I, for one, happen to like Bronx Kero. But he was the only voice that was any good. The rest weren't bad...but the writing was just too awful.

It seems to me that only 4kids is still oing the name changes. As long as 4kids doesn't buy the rights I think that you will not have to worry about name changing

WHY DO DUBBERS DO THAT?!?!? scream

There is literally no way to parellel an Osakan accent in English. It just isn't possible, but what else can you do if you have jokes and banter that involves how funny one of the characters talk? You have to do something. And, a Southern accent works as well as anything. It's better than not doing anything, in my opinion. It's not like there's a way to replace the verb "to be" in English like those crazy Japanese people do with their accents xp
And, Nelvana doesn't do anything anymore. I'm not even sure it's still in business. TRC will probably be done by a signifigantly more reputable company 3nodding

When they translated the Azumanga Daioh manga they gave Osaka-chan a gangsta type speech. I just lmfao, it was soo funny! XD

Yeah, 4Kids still changes all of the character names and other thing to "domesticize" anime ... to make it look American in origin. They did it with Pokemon and with Tokyo Mew Mew, although they don't completely sterilize all of the Japanese culture out of anime. In Mew Mew Power they changed Aoyama-kun's name to Mark, but they still let him be part of the kendo club.

i am scared as hell, that their going to botch the trc anime when they finally translate it. in a perfect world, the gods of dubs - anime network will get a hold of trc. they do as little as possible to it, so its as close to authentic as possible. my heros!!! heart
