my personal favorite would have to be batou if for no other reasonhe is a much more well-rounded character. togusa doesn't have any more to him than a naive sense of justice and his family man mentality. he even aknowledges that batou is better than him by calling him " big guy" and following him around like a lost puppy. batou has a strong sense of justice, a love of animalls, a soft spot for tachikomas, a possible love interest (you know who), and he has a deep and interesting background. that and his steven segal like hair all make him look like a million bucks. he was the one who helped me decide to grow out my hair, so yeah. Batou is the SHIZNIT!!!

Batou. He's a whole lot more laid back, and is second to the Tachikomas when it comes to comic effect. Besides if he were a real person I think we'd be good friends

I'm more a Togusa fan myself. He's perhaps the most human (and vulnerable) member of the team, and he worries about his wife and kid.

BATOU!!!!!!!! Sorry for the n00b-like exclamation, but it is actually really important to me, if for no other reason than he was the one who raised the Tachikomas from being little more than Fachikomas to being wonderfully cute little robot-spider people!

Tune Youg Batou! Why? Because he's smart, has common sense, and works out ten times a day! Now, that's hot. He's considerate of his comrades and always has their greatest interest at heart. Shirow definately wanted a character that would tough on the outside and soft on the inside, and have a jolly green giant complex. I can't say I would ever date Batou, I see him as respected ally or dad figure. Looks like he'd be a great friend to get drunk off your a** with. blaugh Indeed. And I loved how they presented him as a hard*ss first, then they showed his softer side later on in the series and the end of the first film.

FOF my personal favorite would have to be batou if for no other reasonhe is a much more well-rounded character. togusa doesn't have any more to him than a naive sense of justice and his family man mentality. I don't think that's quite true. I agree Batou is more well rounded, but Togusa is also by no means flat, or as simple as you put him.Quote: he even aknowledges that batou is better than him by calling him " big guy" Doesn't pretty much everyone call Batou "Big Guy?" It's just a simple reference to his build.Quote: and following him around like a lost puppy. Sure, he does do that in Innocence.
Anyway, with that said, my answer is Batou. He's my favorite in the whole series, though I love all of S-9! |D

CrazedBajoran138 Togusa. He's sweeter, and I just luvvles him! I think Batou's actually the bigger softy. He loves the Tachikomas, and doesn't think that just because they are metal, they aren't "alive". Togusa took forever to get cybernetic implants because he though that it would some how make him less human. Also they go the uchikomas when Togusa was in charge. If Batou had been made the leader of Section 9, I don't think he would have let such primitive AI's on the team, at least not happily. Also CrazedBajoran138, I like you sig. smile

I love them both equally. I like the dynamic of them both, especially when they're interacting with each other.

Togusa is a future Batou. He just hasn't got that hard yet or lost his family.
