Soran's eyes popped out of her head. "Level 15!?!!! Why is something like that even capable of being level 15?" She pulled out her sword. "Uh, Ruqua? What happens when you lose all your hp? Just so I know," she said as she spread apart her legs to ground herself while holding her sword in front of her.

"I tell you, it is extremely hard to beat, it can change into many shapes and move quickly," she said rapidly, "Well, you die?... Okay to be more specific you float around in cyberspace for some time and return to the last point you saved, losing all experience and items gained in the time, plus losing some items, gold, dropping a level down and listed on the 'Dead Today' List which is availiable to be seen in all servers, dropping your reputation. Not much really."
Ruqua said the last words sacastically, it was really a big humiliation to be listed. She knew the Staff made such huge consequences to encourage players to play hard, and it did work - only a few were listed there; usually beginners without parties and no fame at all. Ruqua moved her halberd to defense position.
"Let's attack together and see how it goes, if you see a way to beat it, shout it," she said as the Blob slowed its bouncing, "It's gonna jump!"
Sure enough the Blob did a huge leap towards them, aiming to squish them under, Ruqua lifted her halberd up to point at the Blob plummeting down, praying that it won't manage to damage her too much.

"Well, that sucks," Soran replied as she watched the blob bounce. "Let's go then," she replied to Ruqua's plan with a smile. She moved a bit away from it as her friend warned that it would jump, jumping up as it jumped down, slashing through it with her sword.

Soran's slash did manage to split the Blob in half, and her halberd pricked the bottom of it.
"Heh, thanks, I would have been squished," she said and ran forward as the Blob pieces dropped on the ground and turned into two smaller Blobs.
"Can you manage one each?" she asked, pivotting around and blocking with her weapon handle as they bounced towards Soran. Ruqua twisted her blade to pierce the Blob in front of it. The Blob slid through her weapon, cutting itself into half again before both continued bouncing towards Soran. The second one turned its gaze on Ruqua and an evil grin formed on its face.
"Sorry Soran, I'll be right back."
So far there was slight hp damage, everytime it split, though all of them shared the same health bar. Ruqua gained an idea and kicked the Blob backwards, as she did so she tucked the metal end of her halberd under her arm and hit the Blob with the wooden end.
"Beep!" the sound of lowering health sounded as the Blob was hit. The Blob dented with the impact but did not split.
"Hit it with the flat of your sword!" she shouted her hope raising at the discovery.

"Okay, I gotcha." Soran wished at that moment that she had a sheath for her sword. Oh well. She held her sword like a baseball bat and went to repeating Ruqua's actions. Of course she did slightly less damage, for although she was a Heavy Blade, she was only Level 1. Now this was getting fun.
She suddenly stopped to look around. The second Blob was not too far away, and still heading for her. She turned back to the bigger Blob she was dealing with, kicking it around like a soccer ball, unti the smaller one tried to attack her. She was ready. Whipping around, she hit it hard, knocking it several meters away. "Finally those years of soccer and softball pay off," she said, turning back around to finish off the bigger Blob before going to deal with the other one. It's hp was low. One final kick and beating with the flat end of her sword was the end of that.
She quickly opened the treasure chest. "Item gained: 50 gold.
Congratulations. You are now Level 2." Wow, really? was all she had time to think as a shadow appeared above her. Too late to run, she held her sword in a defensive position. It blocked most of it, but her arm was covered in sticky goo that started to burn. "Aaah!" she cried and bit her lip.

She was still beating the other half of the original blob. Where is a Wavemaster when I need them? she thought. She glanced over to Soran who was beating the larger of the two. The health bar was separated which was strange. A small message appeared on her as she thwacked the Blob again.
The Blob divided and remains in battle, the health bars have divided as well as the result. She saw Soran finish off one of the Blobs now. Separate tags appeared on the remaining.
The MiniBlobs have changed elemental composition, they are able to damage in with different abilities. The second message appeared as Soran cried out. The blob that landed on her was green and red.
"I'll be coming right..." She shouted as she thwacked the Blob in front of her.
"Splish!" It sounded as the blue Blob dissolved into the ground. She ran quickly to Soran's side and scraped off the fire MiniBlob off her sword and arm, burning her weapon. She fished out a healing potion with her free hand and trickled some on the wound.
The fire Miniblob had reformed and jumped again. The blue Miniblob appeared from the ground underneath Ruqua and held her fast, she could not do anything with both hands busy.

Soran was lucky that it was her left arm that had been damaged, since she was right-handed. With some difficulty, she moved her sword fully to her right hand. It woud be hard to wield a two-handed sword as a one-handed weapon, but she had to. She refused to die today. Now she hit the incoming blob like it was a tennis ball. She vaguely noticed that her sword felt a little lighter. Stomping on the blue miniblob, enough times, it let Ruqua go. Then she took off after the red miniblob.

The Water Miniblob sank back down and she put the bottle in her mouth and drank as she jabbed the Water Miniblob which had reappeared in front of her. The Miniblob ducked and she swished her halberd to the right way again. Ruqua spat the bottle at the Miniblob as she swept her arm back and started running towards it. The bottle hit it and stuck fast to the Miniblob, distracting it for a moment before she slammed the flat side of the halberd with both hands onto it. The impact dented it and stunned it with the ringing of the bottle and she lifted her halberd.
"Power Up Blade!" she shouted and her blade started glowing faintly in a multicoloured hue and radiated the colour in a slight aura. Ruqua lifted her halberd high and contracting her stomach muscle, initiated the final blow.
"Beep!" the health bar lowered and faded, taking the creature with it and releasing a chest.
Item gained: 1x Down of the Water Flicker
200 gold
Oh.... My... Gosh... Ruqua was gobsmacked, the down was an extremely rare item, even though it was more common than the rest of the feathers. She quickly returned to her senses and rushed to where Soran was.

By now Soran's arm was feeling better, but it still hurt some. She decided to go on the defensive. Since there was nothing to hide behind, that meant grounding herself and waiting for the miniblob to attack her so she could knock it away and get some damage in besides. This was going to take a while, becuase while it was working, she didn't seem to be lowering it's hp much. As soon as I get some food, I'm getting a sheath. No, scratch that, a shower.

"Need help?" she asked as she reached Soran, her beaded hair swaying in the wind of her movement and eyes glittering with excitement. Ruqua bouncing slightly without leaving the ground to keep the blood going and partly with excitement. She did not shift as she would understand if Soran would like to battle for herself.

"Well, this is taking too long, so if you can get rid of this thing quicker, be my guest. I need to get back to Ouru and have this burn treated. Stupid blob," Soran sighed as she bent over to get the kink out of her back.

"OK, try more healing potion on it, it will help but yeah, it is best to go back and get some treatment," she said before launching into a vertical cut with the flat of her halberd, it was tricky to get it at the right position, but she managed one. She twisted the blade and tried striking it on the sharp side. The halberd stuck in and started to heat up and she whacked the Miniblob against the ground multiple times.
"Beep!" The Miniblob's expression was evil looking and Ruqua made the mistake of watching it.
"Aww, it is soo cute," she remarked as the Blob changed its expression and looked with large watery big button eyes.
Ruqua has been charmed. was the message that appeared on both of their screens, but being charmed, she struggled to notice.
"Argh you stupid Miniblob," she said gritting her teeth before the effect took place again, "You are soo darn cute."
She lifted her halberd up off the Miniblob who bounced immediately towards her.

"No Ruqua! Crap," Soran yelled as she quickly lifted her weary arms and whacked the thing as far away as she could. She then turned her attention to her teammate. "Ruqua? Are you okay?"

The Miniblob, unprepared at the attack offered no resistance to the blow and flew a distance off, bouncing backwards on the ground trying to slow itself down.
"Hee..." she gasped relieved, "Thank you, I don't think I can defeat it. But I doubt you would be able to, it has been enough for today."
Ruqua pulled out the down and quickly slipped it in her beaded hair, "For luck," she said and pulled out the squashed hat, ripping a piece out and tying it to blind her from seeing the Miniblob.
"Now, work with me, stand behind me and tell me when to strike," she lifted her halberd in front of her, the steady bouncing of the Miniblob sounded closer.
Boing... Boing... Boing... Boing. She absorbed the knowledge of the pattern.

"Alright," Soran said as she stood behind Ruqua, her sword down but ready to attack just in case. She followed the Miniblob's movements carefully, her head bobbing slightly as she watched it bounce. When it got within reach, Soran said, "Now! Straight down!" Her hands gripped the sword so she could be backup if Ruqua missed.
