Hmm... I missed this thread before.
A cassette tape of some European trance my sister got me on her trip. Got into trance and then E Nomine. First step into EBM was Assemblage23, VNV Nation in highschool from a friend.

I think my first time was listening to an Enigma cd in my friend's car on the way to my first rave. So many brain cells have died since then, that I can't be sure, but I also think that it was the first time that I tried smart drinks and e. heart ninja pirate

My introduction to psy/goa was listening to an Infected Mushroom CD in my boyfriend's van on the way to my first rave.

Nisori Wipeout was a video game with wicked beats, it grew from there. Wipeout XL's soundtrack did the trick for me, specifically Underworld's track "Tin There." Then a friend I ment on an Outlaw Star fansite got me hooked on them. Then he introduced me to Juno Reactor. There's your answer to my fanaticism with both of those guys. xp

I was reading over some of the posts on this thread when I realized that my first contact with any sort of EDM was probably this 80's band called Ultravox. I can remembering listening to this one song called Vienna over and over again. I still love that song. 3nodding heart ninja pirate

There was a lot of stuff in my younger days that, looking back, I never really knew the difference between 'techno' and other music... it was all just music to me.
I remember being influenced early on by Jamiroquai, Prodigy, Aqua, KMFDM, Rammsteins early, more electronic stuff, that Mortal Kombat theme song... When I was like 11 I remember a friend of mine having some compilation CD called 'This is Techno' Volume whatever, and it had that Sesame's Treet song on it. Oh man, what I would give to find that CD again. sad
