Shukujo No Shadou What was the play about? My rant is from the rant before, for the birthday thing we were suppose to go to the bars but apparently you needed government issued id, two at that. I felt bad because I was one of the only ones without the government issued stuff so we couldn't get in. neutral (Mind you like I said before, we had a good time at home anyway. XP) It was "The Man of La Mancha", which tells the story of Don Quixote through a poet/actor guy. It was a musical, and the cast/crew didn't end up being terribly impressive, though my friend did well. He was a monk and he got to sing. :3

New rant: people who talk about sugar as though it's a drug. I mean, I know that when I was 12-13 I would eat Pixy Stix and claim to be hyper and sugar high, but hey - I was 12, and the girl that inspired this rant is 18. I don't actually know her that well, I know her online - but yeah.
I hate talk of how sugar makes people high and hyper and how they have these enormous, depressing "sugar crashes" afterwards. Yeah...just...no.
I mean, once I had to get tested for hypoglycemia, and that test involved drinking this bottle of orange goop that was absolutely *saturated* with sugar in an attempt to overload my system with it and see how my blood reacted (I got about 6 blood tests in the few hours that followed gonk ). It was a giant amount of sugar for medical reasons - but the most that occurred from that overload was that I felt slightly nauseous and I couldn't keep my hands steady because they kept shaking and shivering.
I was not hyper, nor happy, nor high. I did not experience any kind of depressing comedown-esque symptoms afterward. The reactions were all physical.
Just...yeah. Sugar. Is. Not. A. Drug. People talk about it providing energy, but it provides the kind of energy that your cells store up to be used later. It's a carb, not a stimulant. I mean pasta is a carb too but you never get anyone talking about "pasta highs" or "pasta crashes". It's just soooo stupid and a pet peeve of mine when people pretend sugar makes them high and then depressed. stressed

Yeah, whenever people would go on about how sugar made them hyper I'd always say that I never noticed a difference except that maybe my teeth felt kind of nasty along with perhaps an upset stomach from too much sugar... But people are silly and the placebo effect works wonders. XP
New rant for Fu: I am sick. God damnit I was already sick this year. >_<
