Go see Pirates of the Carribean 2: Dead Man's Chest. It was better than I thought it was going to be. Plus, Davy Jones looked really cool.

Everyone else I know who saw that has told me they were disappointed. Instead, because I'm lucky enough to live near a major city, I decided to go see A Scanner Darkly three weeks before its nation-wide release. If you're interested in something with political/mild Twilight Zone overtones, I'd recommend that.

count cocoa fang I love the Twilight Zone. So I may see it. Reminder: It's a mild influence. There are a few very dark, ironic twists, but A Scanner Darkly is in no way a horror story . . . not in the general sense, at least.

Dr.Strangelove Or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.
Very likely the best film ever made.
Though I am naturally not closing the title.
Sellers and Kubrick at their best.

Besides Vendetta? Well then, my vote easily goes to the old-school Star Wars trilogy (none of this new Lucas-hack-job stuff), or to Howl's Moving Castle. Memoirs of a Geisha was really good too.
Haven't seen Dead Man's Chest yet. But I must.

ZOMG! I had the chance to see Monty Python and The Holy Grail once.. It was a band trip.. And.. I.. I... Ignored it! Although I saw the Black Knight part which I found hilarious bahah.. Gotta really see it.

If any of you like the phscological thrillers, I suggest Se7en... Great movie centered around the seven deadly sins.
And then there is Insomnia, a movie where Robin Williams is the bad guy. Oh, and Al Pacino is the good guy. The roles are a twist in themselves. O.o
And I suggest renting/buying the original Mony Python TV series. You can't find anything as gut busting as that compiled into -Disk Sets.

Concerning Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest...
I always loved those epic, sea-adventures like 20.000 Leagues Under the Sea, and Treasure Island.
Sadly, that genre disappeared from mainstream-cinema some time ago, and it was not 'til the release of recent years best adventure-flick Pirates of the Caribbean that it was revitalized, and renewed.
What all those films (including PotC) had in common was the great characters; that you could feel for, and on some levels relate to.
Pirates does that in an admirable way.
The sequel is more entertaining, wilder and extreme than the predecessor, but at the same time darker and more complex.
Now, I might be biased since I love this kind of film, but I say Dead Mans Chest is one of the most entertaining films of the last 20 years.
Johnny Depp is a genius, and Bill Nighy spectacular - even though he has to deal with "cgi-prosthetics".

Movies that stick out for me, as its difficult to name a favorite, include Once Upon a Time In Mexico, The Weatherman, the Mask (which was, very much like our dear old V, based on a comic book.) the Nightmare Before Christmas, Dead Leaves, Battle Royale, and Akira. V is, obviously, up there, as well as some other very good movies.
