EliteWarrior ...To be honsest, Tales of Symphonia ripped off a LOT of different RPGs. And not just their cliches, I actually mean real parts about the game. Hell, Lloyd's stance wasn't even original. And...do we care...? Ripped off seems to big of a word to use. IN this day and age, there's no such thing as a original idea, there's only how to present the idea in a surtain way to make it original.

Symphonia didn't just rip off other RPGs, it ripped off other Tales games.

Exselser Symphonia didn't just rip off other RPGs, it ripped off other Tales games. And it can't do that? Like I said before, ripping off is a huge word. Let's just say, recycling old ideas. Your probably trying to get the negative side of Symphonia because you hate the fanboys and fangirls of Symhponia yes? I can't blame you for feeling that way, but I haven't played it yet, and I don't upsez about it like a fanboy... ...though I do kind of wish that people whould stop picking on 360. sweatdrop There's nothing wrong with borrowing ideas from the series is there? I whould admit that it whould be bad if they did it a lot, but they only did it once right?

There's the world, which is Phantasia's in 3D... Not bad, kind of neat. Most of the themes are also from Phantasia to the point where the main villain is a whiney, weak a** clone of ToP's. The two worlds/peoples/war was done in Eternia. The evil religion, the dense hero and sacraficial female lead and the mysterious warrior that turns out to be related to the hero is all copiously drawn from Destiny 2. The music is also seemingly the b*****d love-child of Phantasia and Destiny 2.
There's probably more that escapes me.
Don't get me wrong, it's a fun game and one of the more replayable Tales to date. It just isn't deserving of all the praise.

That's the understatement of the year. As a GameCube RPG there's little room to complain, but as a Tales it leaves much to be desired.

You can always make an original game, with an original storyline. You just have to put the effort into it. It's just that Tales of Symphonia took an easy road out inorder to create a game by taking past features and mixing them up in one through a blender.
Doesn't stop it from being entertaining, just stops it from being very honorable or respectable. But Exselser more or less beat me to it. gonk

It may have been my favorite game for who knows how long, as well as my first Tales game, but I just got ToP, and it beats the s**t out of ToS so far. 3nodding

Nekozawa from Ouran Host Club, and Walter from Tales of Legendia.
Hinata from Pokemon Ranger (on the right), and Forcystus from Tales of Symphonia. (This one cracks me up. xDDD She's like... Forcy's female counterpart.)
