As the frozen tea continued to fall around them as petals, Silvaria looked back up at Liev. Without a threat nearby, and feeling much more relaxed, the soft blue glow of her eyes and markings faded. "Hm?" The young witch hoped he meant the spell was beautiful, yet she felt her face warm up. Quickly, Silvaria placed a hand on her cheek, shyly trying to hide a blush.

At Liev's comment about unpredictability, Silvaria chuckled. "I suppose that's true." The young witch answered, letting out another sigh. Though it seemed to be a sigh of relief. 'I guess luck is still on my side. I managed to get acquainted with someone. So maybe living here won't be so tough after all. Silvaria thought as a small smile crossed her face. "Ah, yes. My birthday is today in fact.. Though, It seems today couldn't have gone better."

Silvaria paused, thinking a moment. The young witch figured that Liev's suggestion would be helpful. "As long as it doesn't inconvenience you, perhaps starting with something basic would work. Once I'm settled, I should have everything in order. " Silvaria confirmed with a nod, the small smile not leaving her face. "I'll probably be back for tea anyways." The young witch added, chuckling softly. "Oh! Do I owe you anything for the tea?" Silvaria asked bashfully, hoping she wasn't being impolite again.

                                                  LIEV HASTINGS
((They extended the day so we have time.))

Was she blushing? How cute. He only replied to her unspoken question with a smile since he couldn't answer something not spoken. Then she placed a hand on her cheek. "Don't be shy. It just makes you all the more precious." He said in a soft tone as he moved a strand of her hair out of her face just to tuck it behind her ear. A smile graced his features. After the deed was done, his hand dropped. Then he went on to mention the unpredictability--the moment over.

"Is it? Perhaps I could give you a gift. One that could serve as a birthday and welcome to the city combined into one neat little package." He thought for a moment with a finger being tapped on his lips. "Oh, I could show you around if you don't want something physical." He suggested without realizing that this offer could seem like more than it was since he was complimenting her just moments before.

The topic somehow got steered back to what she came in to talk about. "It will be no trouble. I like creating concoctions that have a splash of magic in them." A smile appeared on his face once again. "Come visit anytime. I'd love the company." He said honestly before moving on to the next bit. "Tea is given freely here. Although, if you stop by to drink some tea all the time I might have to charge you." The last part was definitely said as a joke. It was even said in a lighthearted tone. Liev gave her another smile.

During that small moment, Silvaria looked up long enough to notice Liev's smile just before shyly averting her eyes again. Is he being serious? The young witch asked herself, just as he brushed a piece of her hair behind her ear. Silvaria glanced up at Liev again, and he was still smiling. Funny enough, unpredictability was mentioned just after that little moment. Silvaria tried to hold in a slight chuckle. Well, that was unpredictable alright. Whether it was good or bad, she wasn't sure yet. Though, a small interaction like that didn't happen to the young witch very often. With it over now, the conversation continued without much trouble.

"Sure." Silvaria answered with a small smile while Liev appeared to be in deep thought. Icy petals continued to fall, thought it seemed they were decreasing in number. Her spells could only last so long after all. She hoped they were still talking about burn salves. Don't dwell on it Sil, you both did just meet after all. In fact, this was the first person she met in town, and she somehow managed to carry a conversation with him. If only I could have been this eloquent at the job interview.

"Aha, so the advertisement is true, then? " Silvaria asked. The young witch was unaware that she was still smiling a bit. "Well, I know this definitely won't be the last time I visit." she added, giggling slightly. "Tea or no tea." Silvaria finished - or so she thought. Luck is definitely still on my side. Silvaria told herself.

"Though, with all the tea I'd probably drink, you could make enough extra money to take someone to dinner."
She half-joked. It was all the young witch could think of. You weren't supposed to dwell on it. Hopefully, he'd take it as a general statement, but it was pretty clear she was referring to herself. Who else could it have been? Part of her wished she still had that tea. "I mean, you are the doctor here right? If the sign outside is correct, you must have a lovely apothecary by your side.." Again this came off a bit more as a joke. Although, Silvaria couldn't help but feel guilty. Wow, smooth recovery...So much for eloquence.

It was a wonder how he could ignore the ice petals that still sprinkled down. Perhaps that was part of the reason why he was full of smiles. Or why he did something a bit more intimate than one should to a customer. This was a business after all. Granted, he was laidback when it came to these things; but still. Now they were back to talking about business. Advertisement? He had to ponder for a moment. "Oh, yes. I suppose it is." He replied with a smile when he realized what she was pointing out.

A chuckle escaped him when she mentioned something about taking someone to dinner. He didn't respond right away because she continued on. It took him a while to understand what she meant. "Oh. I tend to look at the shop as my apothecary." Although he might have missed what she meant by saying those words, he did pick up on the dinner bit. At least that was what he assumed she wanted for her birthday. He either didn't realize her "sure" was for a gift from the shop or completely forgot about it. "Would you like to get a bite to eat when I get off work?" He pondered for a moment before continuing. "I know you just had some tea, but there is a soulful coffee place that has a nice atmosphere. Or the sunlight bar. It has a nice name, don't you think?" He tapped a finger on his lips while thinking. "I don't go out to eat often so I'm afraid I can't recall anything else that's nearby. I apologize." He said while letting his hand drop to his side before giving her a small smile.

If she hadn't already, the young witch let out another nervous chuckle. Well, now he's going to think you're trying to flirt! She screamed in her mind. Still, Silvaria wanted to make an effort not to avert her eyes. As scarlet met amber again when she made eye contact, Silvaria noticed that Liev seemed laid back and still managed a smile.

At least he's not angry, but who knows? He could be hiding the fact he probably thinks you're crazy! Despite these anxious thoughts travelling through Silvaria's head, she did her best to keep her cool and listen. "Oh!" Silvaria exclaimed, followed by a chuckle again. Of course he meant the building.. It came out as more of a nervous laugh. Nevertheless, the young witch continued on with the conversation.

"Wait- really?" Silvaria couldn't believe her ears once she heard him ask about dinner. She couldn't believe she somehow guided the conversation in this direction. Don't dwell on it! It's just a casual friend-thing. Maybe.. The recommendations sounded like interesting places.. "Well, we just met after all, but uh-" Silvaria started, fidgeting slightly. Should I ask his preference, or just pick one? The young witch decided to cut to the chase for their sake.

"I'll admit I don't drink coffee as much. So, naturally I'd try the Sunlight Bar.. If it's alright with you." She answered, trying to stifle another nervous chuckle. Relax. Remember if today is supposedly your lucky day - What could go wrong? With this, she took a deep breath. The icy petals continued to fall, but would eventually fade out. Even any melted remains seemed to vanish as well.

He completely ignored her shocked 'what really' response as he went on to suggest options. It didn't seem like such a big deal to him after all. They were talking about celebrating her birthday at some point and she likely didn't know anyone. Even if she was having a good day wouldn't she want someone to celebrate with her at least to some degree? Then again, he ignored his birthday most of the time. There were reasons for that, but he knew most liked to feel special on such a day. It was the least he could do.

The part where she mentioned them just meeting did catch his attention, however. He didn't know how to take that or what to say in response. Why would she point out something so obvious? It just did not compute. That's why he only responded to the choice she made. "That's fine with me." He replied with a smile before he added more. "Perhaps it is best to meet me back here around six when I'm closing up since you don't know the area." He suggested. Honestly, he was excited to go to the bar. It has been a while. He couldn't even remember how long it has been. Was that a bad thing?

Silvaria hoped she hadn't messed up. As she listened to Liev's words, the young witch took a deep breath to keep calm. Hoping he didn't notice, she answered; "Well, I guess it's settled then." With a slight nod. Celebrating my birthday with company probably wouldn't hurt. She thought.

"Anyways, I should probably let you work." Silvaria added with a chuckle. This time it sounded a lot more genuine than nervous. "I'll see you then." Silvaria added, stepping towards the door. As the young witch opened the door she turned her head. "Thanks again." Silvaria wasn't sure if she already said 'Thank You', but it was all she could think of to say before leaving.

As she continued down the sidewalk, Silvaria was contacted by higher-ups who hosted the job interview. Silvaria had gotten the job as head librarian! "YES!" She cheered, getting odd looks as she twirled victoriously by a traffic light. Soon after, the young witch would press the button and cross the street - A bit of pep in her step as she walked from sight.

Someone was in a good mood, a very good mood. Why? The answer was clear when last night could be recalled. The little blue box that the doctor chose contained a trip to a location that Aaron considered special. It required some traveling magic but such a task wasn't too difficult to handle. Their trip to another winter wonderland was met with a flurry of positive emotions. They talked, laughed, made snow angels, and sort of had a snowball fight too. The magic man talked about why such a private area was an exceptional place. Guess you had to be there to hear their convo. There was a small little town where they were able to explore and see the folks. But what really sealed the deal was when this gray-haired man took Liev to the wintery mountains of Colorado for a spectacular starry night show. The mood, flow of the conversation, and the overall feel of the atmosphere brought these two together.

This morning was met with a head of white while they had breakfast from the remnants of what was within the red box: lamb! They still had to plan for their trip to the farm, something Aaron was looking forward to now with a light heart. For the meantime, someone had been singing a merry tune, while they served breakfast for the Apothecary before the two headed off to work. Magic man was already well inside the shop while Liev was getting ready to open the store. He had placed himself on the stool while his gaze followed the amber-eyed doctor. ”Need any help?” They softly inquired as they continued to watch the potion master. ”Your apprentice is eagerly looking to assist you today.” It was a slight tease as their smile stayed bright and cheerful on their features.

At the moment, Aaron was looking the part. The weather had been cold but he let his coat wander off into the shop where it wouldn't bother anyone. If he was going to sell his position to the shop then he might as well look like he actually worked there. Would Liev tell him off? Who knows, he might as well try his luck.

He slept well. It wasn't as if he had problems sleeping. The location was different. Yesterday was active for him. It was probably a good thing though. He was always so focused on his work. Getting his blood pumping made him realize what he was neglecting. A soft smile played at his lips as he checked some things in the back. It was a good day. Breakfast was nice and hearty as well. He never ate as much as he should before heading off to work so it was a pleasant change.

Liev made his way back to the front. Amber orbs flicking over to the magician. He wasn't used to having someone with him before he officially opened the shop. Any wandering coats were ignored as a small smile spread across his face. "Hmm I guess you could walk around to make sure everything looks presentable." He didn't think anything would be out of place, but he couldn't really think of another task to give him. This was why he kept saying he didn't need a helper. The only time he would is if he was asked to make a lot of special things all at once. He walked behind the counter, jotted a few things down, and fiddled with some other things before looking over at Aaron. "Are you going to stick around all day? Because I'm afraid it will be rather boring."

He made his way over to the front door after another five minutes of getting whatever he needed done. It was something he could have gotten Aaron to do, but it never crossed his mind to ask. Soon the door was unlocked and the sign was flipped over to reveal the fact that the place was now open. Not even five minutes later a customer came in. It was a regular. She always came around the same time once a week. Liev was already behind the counter when she entered. The lady watched the stranger, since she never saw anyone in the store so earlier before, until she reached the counter. They had a short yet pleasant exchange and then she was on her way.

Yukiro Miyasa

From down the sidewalk came a gentle tapping and scraping sound. It proceeded towards the shop at a steady pace, seemingly unconcerned about the ice that coated most everything. The first thing that could be seen was the tip of a white cane tapping along the ground. It sort of nudged its way towards the door, feeling out the doorframe. Following along behind it, there was a pale man bundled up in a thick grey jacket and a black wool hat. He felt for a moment near the doorframe until he discovered the opening mechanism. He made sure to get the snow off of his boots as best as he could before entering, then closed the door quietly behind him. At first it may have been hard to tell whether he was just cold or whether he was pale by nature, but once he removed his hat, waves of snow white hair slithered at their release, and shadow finally withdrew revealing two pale pink eyes sort of scanning the room. He couldn't actually see the contents of anything from this distance, nor could he see whether or not someone was in the room, but his eyes knew they weren't completely useless, so they tried to focus on something and give him intel.

He could smell all sorts of different herbs in the room, the scent so overpowering to him that he could smell nothing else. But at least it was a pleasant and even homey scent with which to be overpowered. He couldn't really hear anything though, and he had never been in the building before, so he wasn't exactly sure where he needed to be. He proceeded forward just a little bit, keeping to the wall so he wouldn't get lost. For that matter, he was still a little iffy about why he was even here. Sure the spirits had been talking to him all morning about what a cool place this was, but would it really be possible that they would have something beneficial to him? Well, a lot of things would be beneficial, but he could do without most. In the several hours between now and when he had awoken at dawn, he had only thought of a few things he would really like: something to help the girl he had met with her nerves, and something that would improve his eyesight. The nerves could probably be done with tea or scents or something, but would it really be possible to improve his vision? It would be such a blessing if there was.

"Then after all
I sense the end is dawning
These lunatics deny the truth

I know I will not fail
There'll be

War
It's now or never
We shall stand together
One by one
This world is sacred
I'm coming home"

”Leave it to me.” Aaron replied proudly and a tad bit enthusiastically. It looked like if he was going to start his apprenticeship, then he was gonna start from the bottom of the barrel. Hopefully it could manifest into something that was a bit more magical, but beggars couldn’t be choosers or so they say. The changed magic man stood up and proceeded to check if the merchandise was appealing to any future customers. That didn’t require much work on his end. Almost everything in the shop could attract a wandering eye, at least if they were curious enough to venture within the shop. Maybe there was a better way to attract customers? No. This was Liev’s shop and he had to respect the choices the man made for their business.

There were a few jars out of place, perhaps turned around so that a customer could take a look at the contents. It was an easy fix but Aaron proceeded to take his work somewhat seriously. He was handling some salves when the doctor spoke up. ”At least let me be the judge of that.” Their response came with a smile as he answered the other’s question. The Shusona wasn’t quite sure what Liev meant by boring. Was their business not attracting a lot of customers? ”I’ve never worked with an Apothecary before so I shouldn’t miss out on this chance” When those words left his mouth the magic man proceeded to return to his task.

Barely five minutes has passed when the store opened that a woman came walking in. She regarded the businessman with a sense of familiarity. Aaron gave a polite smile and a nod of recognition when she came in. He listened in to the conversation while keeping up with his own work. ’Liev’s definitely the sort to be more comfortable when he’s talking about his work. I should keep that in mind.’ The doctor didn’t appear to fumble over their words or grow uncomfortable with his interaction with their customer. But Aaron was there to learn. Even if their conversation had nothing to do with brewing a potion, he wouldn’t want to do something that would make the Apothecary look bad. So the silver-haired male tried to pick up on a certain Hastings’ interaction.

The opening of the door drew the magic man’s attention towards the second customer of the day. ”Welcome to The Doctor’s Apothecary.” The greeting was warm in nature despite the chilling temperature outside. Hands waved towards the other white-haired man till their steel-blues looked down at the cane. There was a small pause before Aaron looked up towards the unnamed individual. He wasn’t quite sure if customer #2 was blind or not. Their hand came back down to their side as he continued on with his friendly demeanor. ”How can we help you?”

It's okay 'cause I know
I could be lucky in my life"

Yukiro Miyasa

Being disoriented was nothing new to him, but it was still unpleasant. Hence his excitement when he heard someone speak. Given that he had just walked through the door, there was a good chance the greeting was directed at him, which meant that the one talking probably worked here. In a slightly different direction, there were two voices talking about weekly medicine. One voice sounded feminine, and based on her comments, he figured she was a customer. The other voice was masculine and sounded knowledgable, so he probably worked here if not owned the place. "Oh, hi," he waved briefly in Aaron's general direction, it was aimed about a foot and a half too high and off to the right, but it was still his general direction. Not wanting to have to yell across the store, he hastened his way towards the voice, his cane gliding over the floor quickly, not really searching as much as recording the closest surroundings. He was about halfway there when he managed to smack into something. It was a large object that hit him diagonally across the face. Whatever it was, it shot forward after he ran into it. "Oh-oh-oh my, I'm s-s-so sorry. I hope I didn't ruin anything." The slightest hint of color rose into his cheeks. He was sure that anyone who saw him before could probably have guessed he was at least a little blind if not completely, but now they had to be certain of it. With no constant source of sound, he had to stop when he wasn't sure how much further the person was. He couldn't see any human-sized darkness, but it was fairly dark in here so he probably wouldn't have seen them unless they were practically in his face. Not knowing how far away he was, he spoke up just in case. "S-s-sorry to interrupt. The spirits, th-th-they said I should come here. They s-s-said you guys can practically work magic." Or maybe it was that they could work magic. Spirits were sometimes hard to understand, and it didn't help that this was not his native language. "This p-p-probably sounds silly, but...I was wondering i-i-if there was anything that could be done for my sight." He seemed to gain a little more confidence now that he knew what he was talking about. "Glasses don't work, and surgery has a very little chance of success. I was wondering if you knew of anything that would give me even a little better sight. Also, I met someone the other day, and she seems to have real issues with anxiety. Is there something I could give her to help? Anything I could do at all? It was...painful, to watch encounter someone so scared of the outside world. I don't think I helped her much, so I wanted to make it up to her." For all he knew, he could have been speaking towards a mop or empty space, but at least he had stated everything that he wanted to say, and he was certain he had spoken loudly enough to be heard.

"Then after all
I sense the end is dawning
These lunatics deny the truth

I know I will not fail
There'll be

War
It's now or never
We shall stand together
One by one
This world is sacred
I'm coming home"

                                                  LIEV HASTINGS
                                                  ((. . .))

He was not surprised by the answer he was given. Aaron never seemed deterred by what he said--at least whenever he tried to stifle his interest in helping him around the shop. It would be good to have company when no one was around and he had nothing to do. A soft smile formed on his features. For some reason, he felt a bit uncomfortable. It wasn't necessary a bad thing--just a strange feeling. Perhaps he needed to find a better word for it.

It wasn't long after his usual came in when a newcomer stumbled through the door. Aaron was the first to greet the customer--which was fine. He was farther away after all. The woman happened to make her way out right around the time the man bumped into a ladder. Liev looked over having just put something behind the counter. He made his way across the room around the time the man was talking about how the spirits told him they worked magic. A gentle smile sat on his face even though the other couldn't see. "You aren't hurt, are you?" He said in a concerned tone. Liev grabbed the customers free hand in slow motion while being gentle. "Here. Come take a seat." He offered before carefully guiding him to one of the chairs that sat next to the small table near the front. Of course, he would have stopped if the man seemed uncomfortable.

Then the customer started to talk about the reason why he came and what he wanted. Liev listened to him quietly. A small smile on his features. It wasn't every day someone came in to cure their bad eyesight. The anxiety was a simpler case though. "I have a few common options for your friend. Give me a moment." He moved to a certain location or two while still talking. "Is there anything special about her anxiety issues?" He asked since normal remedies wouldn't work as well if that was the case. It wasn't long before he came back to place some items on the table. "These work in different ways. If you want I could explain them to you, but if her anxiety is a bit more complicated than normal you'd probably have to bring her here." The last thing was added as an afterthought. "Would you like some tea?"

After that bit was addressed he moved on to the man's lack of eyesight. "I'm sure I could do something for your sight, but I would need a lot from you. Information. Time. And unfortunately a good amount of money. The latter two can be ignored for now. I just need to know if you are willing to give me whatever information I need. The more I know the more likely I can create something that will work well for you." Liev said in a gentle tone. Sometimes people got scared away at this point. He didn't understand why.

It seemed that the customer may have been blind or had some sort of eye trouble. If his, should that be the indeed proper pronoun, sight was poor then the customer certainly came to the right location. The return of the magician’s greeting had confirmed their suspicion. Who was he to pry into this stranger’s life? ”Oh watch-” But it was too late at that point. The silver male did not know what would drive the other to come in his general direction, but they seemed to make haste. Such behavior elicited the resulting effect: a ladder being rolled in their general direction. The object was not going extremely fast where one had to hurl themselves out of the way. A simple outstretched hand towards the instrument was all that was necessary to put a stop to its motion. ”Don’t worry about that.” The pearl-colored haired stranger would probably not be able to see the generous smile on the Shusona’s lips compared to the glowing tone in their voice.

Aaron didn’t have the chance to check-in with the customer as Liev performed the task. With the manager overlooking the welfare of the stranger, the apprentice gave a charitable smile towards the woman as she left the store. At first it seemed that the lady was a bit put off by the display, but a charming smile and a wave goodbye seemed to put her at ease. Now the magic man redirected his attention to the ladder. Had there been anything out of place? At least he had not been working on this general area of the store. ’I wonder if we should put a wedge on the ladder. I can’t put it past some folks to use this object as a means to try to swindle Liev for some compensation.’

The magic man listened in to what the customer had to say about spirits. The word had definitely caught his attention. ’Spirits? I guess the guy must be gifted in a different vision.’ Aaron proceeded to tidy up the store. This was Liev’s business and it seemed like he had a handle on things. ’I guess I can finally check out how he does business around here.’ Such a thought brought out a smile. Now that his curiosity was getting the better end of him, he plopped himself down on a stool to watch the two. If someone needed to take care of any other customers then he’d gladly step in.

"Got my family
And I've got all my friends
I've been lucky in my life
And I got no money but
There's no need to give up
I've been lucky in my life

As I live my life
With a smile on my face
Will I be lucky in my life?
Even when I'm feelin' down
It's okay 'cause I know
I could be lucky in my life"

He made no protest when the man took his hand, in fact he rather much appreciated it. Heaven forbid he have to navigate the Apothecary all on his own, he would end up lost in a heartbeat. "Thank you, and I'm sorry if I have caused a disturbance." With the man so close, and he assumed this was Dr. Hastings, he could actually perceive a few details about him. First off, he was quite a bit taller than him, and seemed to have a lean build. Further, he had light-colored hair, though with his color blindness, he was not sure if it truly was on the grayscale, or if it was a very pale and bright shade of red or green. The man had two eyes, whether they both functioned or not was a detail too fine for him to note, and seemed to dress very professionally. The tone of his voice suggested a gentle man who was very knowledgable about his craft and well-versed in the business aspect as well. He settled into the chair, thankful to not have to navigate anywhere else, he was embarrassed enough to have run into something, he didn't need to be knocking things over as well. As soon as he was settled, the man moved out of his range of vision, and with the lack of natural light, most everything was too dark for him to distinguish shadows.

"I confess, I do not know as much as I thought about her issues. I met her in the park not too long ago. She was having a full blown panic attack, I believe because she was lost. Even from a distance as great as here to the door, I could hear her heart beating rapidly and her ragged breath. My presence agitated her, or at least her heartbeat quickened even more, to the point I was afraid she might fall into cardiac arrest. I believe she is genuinely mute, as instead of speaking her replies to me, I think she wrote them on some electronic device. Of course that meant that communication was out of the question, so I sort of ended up guessing what she was trying to imply. I-I-I'm sorry, I didn't realize how ill-prepared I was. I just wanted to find a way to apologize to her, and...others suggested this was a good idea."

He was so ashamed and nervous about his shortcomings, he didn't even notice the invitation to tea, but when talk of his own condition came up, he was back in focus. The warning genuinely intimidated him, not because of the information and time, but because of the cost. He was not a wealthy man in the least, but at least he was used to living a humble lifestyle, so maybe he could cut back on a few more things and scrounge up enough. He nodded quickly, "I will give you whatever information you desire. And what I do not know, I shall find answers to as soon as possible. Of course, if you ever need help with spirits, it would be an honor to assist." At least the kid was sincere and diligent, even if he was looking about halfway in between the two men, despite thinking he was pointed towards only Dr. Hastings.
