"I didn't expect the cops to be here!" She said in a loud whimper. "And Phil has a card too, so that's three, this is limit for three people!" She said with a relieved nod. That was when Alice gave Philip a dirty look. "Phil.. what does she mean by that?" She asked, well knowing what she meant by that.

Val laughed sheepishly noticing that she might have thrown Philip under the bus. "So Nora is this the boyfriend you've been talking none stop about?!" Asked Val trying to divert the attention. "Well isn't he cute? No wonder she can't stop talking about you! Jack was it? I'm Val." Jack said a 'nice to meet you' to Valentina. Val was already instinctually rolling a blunt to share, forgetting the two cops and their police dog.

"Right, right, right..." Val repeated as she headed into Nora's basement. Jack didn't want to stay out here, and while holding Nora's hand, walked to her basement too. There Val sat down on Nora's bed and started rolling a blunt for them. "Whew, close call." she said nervously as she began lit light it. She puffed on it a bit, then handed it to the person next to her.

Seeing them all leave, Alice's cellphone went off. She got up and took it, since it was from work. Kyle's phone also went off, both with the same call. Telling her to get down there immediately, they were putting Kyle up too for crowd control downtown. Something was happening in town, that was obvious. When she asked they told her they weren't sure. She looked over at Kyle and nodded. "We should leave Arfie here. They didn't say much but it doesn't sound like a dog situation." It sounded more like terrorists. Just as she was heading upstairs to change into something less feminine, loud civil defense siren went off outside.

Alice sighed, she couldn't be held responsible for the dog could she? No one would ask, she realized. Not in this small town, Val's family shop was pretty much the only one in town even. "Well you heard them, maybe there's another car bomb scare?" She said out loud, recently a person of color left their car alone for a few hours and people called it in as a car bomb. Alice went upstairs and put on something more professional. They would have to change into whatever they planned for them to wear anyway, but she didn't want to seem filthy so soon. Alice came back downstairs, and headed into her car. Waiting for Kyle before taking them back to the department. //exit

Jack had a brow raised most of the time until the blunt was handed his way. He was weirded out by Philip being down there with them. "Thanks." He said to Val before smoking some and handing it to Nora. After a bit, he heard the sirens from outside, followed by the door opening and closing. "Whoa, think it's a drill?" He asked nervously, the two police officers did just leave.

"Contradictory information!" Val said loudly in a whimper. "We're going to die! i have to go home, I can't stay here. No offense Nora but this home is made of cardboard!" She said looking at their cardboard walls. Jack didn't like the idea of.. whatever was going on, right now. He was feeling a bit good and this wasn't making him feel good at all.

Val had told them before how she lived in a dome house, and how their shape made them perfect against tornados and earthquakes unlike cardboard houses as she called them. Looking around, she spotted Nora's laptop. "Wait! Look it up on google, you can't trust the news but google wouldn't lie to us!" She said as she took the smoke next, puffing on it quite a bit in a panic before passing it over.

Jack had gotten on his phone, and found an article about riots throughout the cities. Along with a quote from his father about there being blame on both sides. Classic dad. "Zombies? Maybe man, it is zombies." Jack said with a bit of a dazed look. "What if there's zombies and that's why they're like 'do this' and 'do that' but honestly, if there's zombies and it starts here they'll just nuke the town after I'm out of it." He said with a half-shrug. An elite soldier would most likely find him and he would be taken to some underground base in a Colorado mountain.

"Wow you are baked." Val said taking the blunt away from him before he could smoke it. Instead smoking some and asking Phil if he wanted any. "Check google news, they have a..." She pointed over Nora's shoulder. "Google news right there."

Jack was still on his phone, saying a 'yeah you're right' to Nora when she said he would be nuked with everyone else. He then nodded after Philip's comment. "Think you have a point." Said the man with a solemn look. "Infowars says that the water finally made liberals go insane and they're eating conservatives in the streets." Val giggled over Jack's ironic way of talking about infowars. "Well, whatever it is, I'm staying here I guess. We have enough stuff to last us for a few days, I'll call my mom first and just one sec..." Val took out her phone and went into another room to tell her mom she would be staying there.

Everyone seemed to jump to the zombie conclusion a bit quicker than Jack would expect. He figured he would be informed first, but had been ignoring the constant calls he was receiving on his cellphone. Jack decided to set it on silent for the week. Looking back down at his phone, he saw a text from one of his moms. "Yep it's zombies." He said with a nod. Jack sat down on the floor by his backpack and took out a few things, mostly clothes in the way, until taking out a knife and a gun.

"I'm a little unsettled you brought those to visit Nora..." Val said to Jack with crossed arms, feeling a bit threatened by his internet weirdo. "My..." Nanny who raised me? "--mom said I should bring something in case Nora was secretly a cover for Isis or something." He said with a nervous chuckle. "Didn't believe them, but you know better not with old Jamaican ladies." Maybe he should have left that out, he wondered. "But yes, it's 100% zombies. The secretary of defense just texted me." He said holding up his cell that had a message that started with 'bro'. Val giggled, him and his inappropriately timed political humor.
