"It looks really heavy," said Finn, frowning at the beam as he followed Wil over to it. Was that - was that why he'd gotten the face full of magical pollen? His sinuses still didn't feel quite right. "We should look around, see if there's anything we could use to, like, winch it? I don't think pulling on it's going to do us any good."

Wil rubbed the scratchy stubble on his chin, making an audible sound and frowning.
"Tthere's a lot of machinery around here-" Not that he could tell what it was besides bulks of metal, "Hey Guys! Look around and see if there's anything that could help us move this beam?"
Leila peered at the fire door... it was certainly blocked off by a broken thing, but... "Hey, um, this door opens in. That's not standard for an emergency exit. They're supposed to swing out so people can get through it more easily."
The metal beam did fit the Not Food criteria of the Multitude, though. "It matches the description I got though, so might as well give it a try?"

Finn turns, directing his flashlight in the direction that Wil indicated. The beam illuminates several ropes and pulleys hanging from the ceiling, their original purpose long since abandoned.
Wil walked to the pulley and rope system and grabbed a rope to tug lightly and make sure it wasn't knotted or rotten.
"We could probably move it.." Attach ropes, pull, that was pretty basic right? He wondered if cat man got super strength or anything.
"Also probably need everyone to help.." The beam looked heavy. Suggestions from the others on how to truss it up may be nice as well because the blonde seemed to be hovering, unsure, around the beam.

"Hoo boy," Preacher let out a low whistle. "A pulley system - what the hell did they use it for before?" She walked over and stared up at it, trying to discern which end went where. It was like one of those puzzles from Professor Layton at least Preacher thought that was what his name was. One of her (very few) friends back in school was obsessed with the games.
She jabbed her finger at the end Wil was holding. "I think we need to truss up that rope bit to the lower end of tha beam. With a harness type, not just looped once or it'll slip right off. Then pull on that end." Preacher jabbed her finger out again. She looked around at the other people in the basement, the (not as cool once she found out he didn't have ears) catboy, the two others with him, the rest of the crew.
"Alright, who knows hot to tie a knot?" ******** knows she didn't. "I mean I know the basic s**t." She gestured for Wil to hand her the rope.
"I mean I can tie a knot but I'm not a boyscout or anything..." Wil was looking at Finn but was already making the move to wrap the rope around the lower end.
The sooner they got this done, the better.

"I know knots," volunteered Finn, who was not only a park ranger but had also been a Boy Scout for way longer than it was cool to be one. He joined Preacher in examining the pulleys, and then nodded. "You've got the right idea," he agreed, nodding to Wil.
"I can tie that off," he said, reaching for the rope. He tied a few solid-looking knots. "That should hold it."
To the group, he announced, "we're almost out of here!"
It's time to pull! Grab the rope and put your back into it!

"Oh, you're knotty," she said to Finn with a grin. She stepped back as her rigged the beam up and wondered idly what the reactions would have been if someone had volunteered their shibari knowledge. Assuming anyone knew that, that is.
Preacher moved forward again, catching the other end of the rope. Finn had done the knots, it was time to see if they held. Her weight was slight, so, despite being relatively fit (thank you, constant fighting), she wasn't sure she'd be too much help. "You help, too!" She pointed at the frilly girl- "And you, nekomini!" -and the were cat before heaving on the rope with all her might.
Kitty scoffed. "Do not tell me what to do!" The princess grabbed the rope anyway. It was in her best interest to help. The sooner she was out of here, the better.

Werecat and his two friends looked around at each other and then shrugged, coming to grab the rope. "Hup," said Rona of the elevator knowledge, hopping up to grab hold of the rope at a higher point.

Leila helped too, and so did Friend, by wiggling its forelegs in a cheerleading fashion! Even if nobody noticed, it was instrumental to the operation's success. Trust me.

With the combined force of the lifting crew (and Friend's waving forelegs!) the fallen beam is lifted and tied out of the way. They have secured a path to escape. Judging by the sound coming from the elevator bank, the police have already entered the building upstairs.
"Uh... so... there was that crazy guy upstairs," says Harvey the werecat. "I'm going to go this way... so they don't think it was me." He gestures to the fire door before pulling it open, letting out a dank gust of air. His eyes reflect the dull emergency lights that flicker on. "Ya'll should, too. Otherwise they might, uh."
"Catch me." He grins, a little sheepishly, and starts down the hall.
You may proceed outside through the tunnel OR you may go upstairs! Go with the knowledge that you guys ******** rock.
