Good evening. I'm mist777, though I usually go by mist.
I'm a college student who's approaching the point of transferring to a 4-year university, studying computer science. I'm the middle of 3 siblings (and my older brother also has a Gaia account, but I don't think he's part of this guild).
I enjoy playing video games, looking up stuff on the internet, listening to music (along with singing the lyrics of songs I like), drawing, coming up with story ideas, and reading up on astrology (not the sun-sign only part, but rather the more detailed stuff, such as the natal chart).
Usually I'm on the quiet side, and can be a bit awkward socially (especially IRL if I'm around people I don't know, but sometimes even in the guild hangouts I might go quiet if I think/feel that no one's listening), but if I get started on a topic I'm interested in and know about, I find myself in risk of rambling on, and can sometimes get a bit too loud unintentionally if I get rather enthusiastic. I also sometimes get distracted easily, but also sometimes ask a bunch of questions if I'm focused on a particular topic. I also sometimes apologize a bit too frequently. You might see that happen in this post.
Despite the fact that I don't normally see myself as brave or bold, I sometimes challenge myself in ways that result in me jokingly calling myself crazy, of which I can give a few examples. They are all in the spoiler because I realize this post might be going long enough as is.
The first one I would like to mention involves the game Mega Man X6, specifically the version that's on the Gamecube game Mega Man X Collection. Those familiar with the X series will know that X6 is generally considered to be one of the hardest, especially if you're challenging yourself even further. In my case, I actually went to rescue all the Reploids that are in the main 8 stages. The crazy part? I forgot if I rescued them all with just X or if Zero was used, so recently I went back to rescue them all AGAIN, this time making sure I only used X. Now, I did use the Ultimate armor (as I was doing 100% on that game aside from the fortress stages) and probably was on the easiest mode when I did that, but if ever I have the time and patience, I might go back to doing it on harder difficulties.
The second game I would like to mention is Kirby: Triple Deluxe. In the days before the game came out, when I found about the four Copy Abilities that debuted in the game, I kinda fell in love with Archer Kirby. It had a cool design (both Kirby himself and the enemy that gave him that ability, Spynum) and was surprisingly powerful. There's a reason why TV Tropes lists it as a Game Breaker. The crazy thing about this one? For a while, I basically burnt myself out on the game because I was not only 100% completing the game, but I also went and did no damage runs of both the Arena AND the True Arena using ONLY Archer Kirby. Not only that, but I also did some ridiculous training in Kirby Fighters using Archer Kirby JUST so I could master that copy ability. It was only thanks to a friend IRL that I had the chance to rekindle a reason for picking it up again, and now I realized that the only thing I've yet to pull off with Archer Kirby alone is a no damage run of the story mode stages (the first Story Mode, not DeDeDe's version). Of the bosses, the only boss I've yet to no-damage run unless I missed one somehow is Queen Sectonia herself.
The final game I'd like to mention is Five Nights at Freddy's, specifically the first 2 games as I've yet to start games 3 and 4. First off, the simple fact that FNaF is a horror series surprised me as I've been the easily spooked/uneasy type in my younger years so horror has never been my genre of choice. Heck, this is the one set of games I can think of where I'm interested and my brother isn't. Since the only version of the games I have is the Android version, you'd guess that I might just use Cheat mode to blaze through the first game, right? Well, kinda. I did opt to use Cheat Mode on the Custom Night to see if it can be used to get the 3rd star for 4/20 mode, but my first time through FNaF1, I wanted to see if I can get through Nights 1-6 without them. Since I took a break after each successful night, it helped minimize my game overs. How low? Well, during my entire time through FNaF1, I only lost 5 times, and 4 of them were all on Night 6. Yes, during the main 5 Nights, I only game over'd once on Night 3. But that game over I think was the start of a rivalry. From what I understand on TV Tropes, usually Foxy and Freddy end the game the most for a lot of players, and while yes in terms of jumpscare numbers those two had more jumpscares on me, none of them were able to do it without the help of another - Chica the Chicken. She was the one who ended my game on Night 3 (I let her get the jumpscare on me when I heard Freddy's laugh as I thought Freddy would end my game much more later on). However, her role in helping the others end my game is where she truly stands out as a rival in the first game, as during my attempts on Night 6, the two times Foxy got me were both thanks to Chica jamming the door beforehand (the first time Bonnie got in soon afterward, so I just waited to see whether Foxy or Freddy would arrive first. The second time I tried to hold out, but Foxy charged in while I had the door open to save power since I was down to 2% if I recall right) and the 2 times Freddy got me were both the result of the power running out. As such, I see Chica as the root cause of all my game overs in the first FNaF. In the second game, here's where I get a little crazy. From what I've heard, a lot of people lose to the Puppet a lot, so I decided to see how far I can go without the Puppet ending my game (which basically involves going to wind the box a LOT, putting you at risk of the other bots getting you). After going through the first 2 nights without a single game over, I kinda got stonewalled on Night 3. I first attempted it on my birthday and guess who first jumpscared me on that Night at around the same time my game ended the first time in the first game. Withered Chica. Yes, it was basically deja vu. Either that or Chica was like, "Happy Birthday! Here's a jumpscare just for you!" I actually tried a few times but aside from 3 instances where I quit early because I saw Foxy in the hallway at a time where I didn't know how to properly deal with him, all my game overs on Night 3 were either Withered Chica or Withered Bonnie as a result of me not getting the mask on fast enough. The irony? Withered Freddy had a couple of times in my second game experience entered the office yet I managed to get the mask on fast enough when he entered. for a little over 5 months I was distracted by other things and actually lost my nerve to return to FNaF2, but after showing a friend the game with the sound off (as I was visiting that friend's house and there was a baby girl elsewhere in that building at the time), I finally got the nerve to go through again. All in all it took me 10 times to get through Night 3, and even if you don't count the 3 times where I quit early, that's still more than all my FNaF1 game overs combined, and not a single one was due to the Puppet. I did have an epic fail in Night 5 where I hit the monitor instead of the Mask button at around 2AM which resulted in Mangle ending my game once, but alas due to my phone somehow locking itself, I was forced to factory reset my phone, which resulted in me losing all my progress in the 2 games. Thus, in order for me to quickly get back to catching up on FNaF2, I decided to use the cheat mode to blaze through FNaF1. So yeah, I'm still trying to see if I can keep the Puppet from ending my game despite having to repeat the first four Nights. Crazy, huh?
Currently the game that's gotten me hooked is Monster Hunter 4: Ultimate. I've used the Insect Glaive for a good chunk of my time playing the game, but now I'm trying to see if I can get used to a different weapon - namely the Bow. I'd say more, but I think I'm making the post way too long.
So yes, an example of me rambling on under the spoiler section. If you happen to find me in the guild hangouts and want to chat, feel free to do so, but I sometimes might go quiet because I might be doing Alchemy at the same time, especially if I have to bust open a bunch of Caches, for which I apologize in advance. I do enjoy anime and video games from time to time, though I can't keep up with anything to save my life. If I can finish 358/2 Days, then I'll be happy. I'm currently reading Wicked and finishing Daredevil on Netflix. At different times, not simultaneously. Anyway, nice to meet you all. yum_puddi
