A girl came up to Kesho and bent down to help pick up her music sheets. Kesho couldn't help but flush. She sure seemed rather clumsy now, didn't she. She had just managed to mumur a thank you when the girl loooked up and called out to two girls just outside.
"My, they do seem rather melancholy...", she muttered softly to the girl, looking towards the two girls with a curious look on her face.

"Yeah, they sort of do." Ninia agreed, handed the sheets of music to the young girl, then tilted her head, "I suppose you're here to take the after-school music class?"

[I'm sorry for being so demanding, Febrys-san. sweatdrop I just think it'll fit in better.]

Karimei smiled as she set up her flute, while her sensai went outside to greet the other students. Setting her flute on a chosen seat close to the front, she unpacked her books in neat piles and lay about her tools. She sighed softly, clutching the pendant that was given to her so long ago by her brother. If only he were still here...

Noticing something shining glint in the light, Karimei jolted up from where she was bent over. Walking over to the other end of the room, she reach up to the shelf to pull on the silvery object. It was a book. "How odd..." she murmured.

Sitting down, she flipped the book over, and to her surprise, saw her brother's name on its front cover.

"Yes", she said giving the girl a bright smile. "I play the piano, though I probally should take violin lessons too."

Karimei felt the shock die down after staring at her brother's name for a couple of minutes. When she regained movement in her arms, she flipped the book over again studying it. It was made of leather, with a silver sheem flung over it, covering the entire book. No other enscriptions marked the covers of the front or back. "Tarren Sachiko" was all that blemished the outer book. There was also a silver lock, bolting the book shut on her. Standing up and clutching the precious object to her chest, Karimei stood on tiptoes, hoping to see the key to the lock on the shelf where the book had been found. However, nothing was there except for more books and music sheets.

"What is a book that belonged to my brother doing here?" Karimei wondered to herself, forlorn washing back over her, leaving her in the same attitude that she had when she had first entered the music room.

She got up and walked over to grab her sheets from the piano bench, placing them beside the desk that was occupied by her flute. Then, hearing voices outside in the hallway, she walked over to the doorframe and peeked out at Ninia and Kesho talking outside, picking up sheets. Through the doorframe, she could also see two other girls running over to the school. Sighing, she slid down against the wall, feeling very confused as she stared at the book.

"Yes", she said giving the girl a bright smile. "I play the piano, though I probally should take violin lessons too."
"I've learned that it is better to concentrate on one instrument then the go ahead and learn to play five, for example." Ninia smiled sheepishly and nervously scratched behind her ear, "Because if you do that, you'll be like me: being able to play a lot of instruments, but not actually being great at any of them. It's better to achieve near perfection, then."

She sighed and stretched a bit, glancing at the girls across the street, then turning back to Kesho. With a light bow and a friendly smile, she introduced herself, "But if you'll take music, that means you'll be in my class. I'm Ninia Antonini, and I'll do my best to aid you in your quest of finding near perfection."

[Sure, Febrys-san, just make sure that there aren't too much out-of-this-world things going on that might mess up normal school life]

Mei calmly got off the bus stop and held her bag erect over her shoulder. I guess I'll be one of the older ones in this class, she thought with a smile. Walking the the front door, she noticed a teacher and student talking. She inclined her head in acknowledgement and continued walking. Then, noticing someone peeking out from behind a doorframe, she walked over to take a look. Huh, music room, interesting. She stopped to stare at the forlorn looking girl leaning against the wall.

"Are you okay?" She asked rather seriously.

Karimei looked up at the tall girl standing over her. She looked almost like a star or something. She sighed and got up, clutching her book.

"It...I'm fine." She told her, leaning against the doorframe. "It's just...I discovered something that has me all confused. That's all."

Mei nodded serenely, not sure what else she should say to this depressed youth. Adjusting her shoulder strap, she held out her hand. "Well, if you ever need me, I'll always be here to talk. My name is Mei Kinimoto."

Karimei took Mei's hand. She was sure making a lot of new friends here. "I'm Karimei Sachiko." She stared up towards the ceiling, in search for the sky. "Thank you very much Mei. I'll be looking forward to seeing you around the school." She looked back at the older girl with a smle. "I am hoping we will be friends."

Mei smiled softly in return, noticing the shiny book clutched in Karimei's hands. Tarren Sachiko she read off the cover. Hmm...this person, whoever this book belongs to, has the same last name as Karimei. I wonder... However, she said nothing. She didn't want Karimei to go back into another saddened tone. Nodding, she replied "We will definitely be friends Karimei. Though please, as my friend, try not to be as sorrowful from now on."

Karimei blushed and giggled giddily. "Of course Mei." she said, her eyes shifting in slight embarassment. "I promise I will." Though in her mind, she was thinking, I will certainly try, but with this mystery to solve, I'm not sure I will be cheerful all the time....
