Minna smiles at Tancred and pats him. She's not telepathic, and isn't able to understand what the switches are saying yet.
Zaagade, however, bounces with excited surprise, to a little meep from Minna. He's a hard critter to bounce on one's head, after all. He resettles sheepishly, but vibrates excitedly An angel? Really? One of the dove-winged people? That's so cool! Really?
"I don't disbelieve you yet. You seem an unusual person...most seem to have difficulty standing on curved parking meters, else lack the gall to try." She laughs softly at the picture of herself trying this. Her balance is reasonably good, but...oh dear. "My grandmother was a Spiritwalker...I don't know other names for it. She could leave her physical bonds behind to visit other places, though she couldn't go nearly as far as you described."

Yes, exactly! Only he lost his wings. That's why he's here. He is looking for them!
"Oh, they are not so far as you might think." Yue looks up at them, looking around. "Here," he points, "that twinkling one with the cross-shaped glow and the greenish aura. That is a jungle world, full of beasts I could never describe and do justice."

Oh? Does he think my mother has them, then?
Minna's eyes sparkle at his description, following his gaze. "I would love to see such a thing for myself," she muses thoughtfully. "I love life...animals and plants. In all their forms. They're amazing."

I dunno. But he did look at your mommy's back.
"You never know what can happen. If you look hard enough, but not too hard." Yue looks up again, and decides it's time to change the subject. "Do you often come to this beach to watch the sunrise?"

Hmm...I bet he was looking at her hair. It's pretty. His hair's pretty too. But I like my mother's. White's pretty.
She smiles, and nods. "Yes. The view really is lovely...I make a point of taking this walk two or three times a week at the least. It's...good to remember a larger picture, I think, and keep from becoming too ensconsed in my own concerns. Besides..." Minna's smile brightens. "It's beautiful, and to be appreciated."

Yeah! It is. I want hair!
"So you aren't a fan of solidarity then." Yue lets his fingertips tap at poles, parking meters, benches, anything they pass. "Beauty is certainly something to admire in anything. Not that anything comes close to me. But bragging is ugly." He winks.

Yes! Do you think we'll have hair someday? I wonder if people start out as bald circles too?
"Oh, I am, I suppose." Minna smiles. "Seeing a sunrise is a universal for everyone, in the world. It doesn't get much more solid than that...and of course. No one in or around this park right now would brag." She laughs softly, appreciative of the humor though she doesn't really realize that he's not joking. "You do have a lovely face, really. Though I'll admit that I'm not used to men being 'prettier' than I am." She grins, and closes her eyes after a moment, just feeling the cool morning air on her face. Mm...it's really lovely to be alive.
Zaagade wiggles happily at her mood.

Oh! So father is growing another person under his skirt!
"I get that a lot," Yue answers, though he suddenly feels distinctly self-conscious. "I wear a bit of makeup though. And most women seem to find my appearance... more comfortable than a normal man's."

That's weird, actually. Mother doesn't seem to be growing anyone... Zaagade pouts quietly at this discrepancy.
Minna smiles up at him, eyes gentle and reassuring, quick to pick up on his discomfort. She does understand, really...her albinism has set her starkly aside from 'normal people' for her entire life, to all results from paused stares to brazen pointing to innumerable 'so are you an albino?' questions. "You wear it well, and I can see why they might. But that's a bit silly inherently, anyway. You're a person, not a gender definition. I wonder though, have you ever considered slacks? You have very nice legs, and this season's embroidery is very flattering."
Something else occurs to Zaagade, who's ever slow on the uptake, and he bounces again. Oh! But wouldn't that mean that you'll have another brother? I kind of like having all my mother's attention. He beams.
Minna meeps at the bounce, and manages to catch him with a truly quick hand before he lands on her head again. "Would you be so kind as to stop that, Zaagade? The lump on my head is still healing from the last three times."

Mm... nah. Father looks like a girl, so it'll probably be a sister.
"Do you think so?" Yue preens a bit at that... he loves being complimented. "Thank you! They are long, but waxing them is worth it I think. And... well... I like to dress well. And slacks are okay for women, but... skirts tend to hide my secret better than pants of any sort." It wouldn't do to be a pretty girl with a bulge in the front.

Minna smiles inwardly more brightly than her casually friendly outer appearance. Good...she'd hoped that would cheer him back up. Her cheeks do colour a bit at this statement, though, mostly because she blushes so pitiably easily with her skin tone, in light of the incident earlier. "Ahhh...I can see how that could become an issue in a very real hurry. By and by, you have my word that I won't tell a soul, so you needn't worry there. A promise is a highly binding thing in my family."

Yue smiles at her, a very genuine, grateful one that he would never admit to using. "I was certain I wouldn't have to ask." He actually thinks her blush is sort of fetching too. But then... she's exotic, and beautiful in a way that he has never seen before, not really.
"It is certainly better than a razor, though. Too much area to risk cutting, and besides. No blade deserves this skin."

Minna laughs softly. "No razor deserves any skin...they're truly dastardly devices. Ahh..." she smiles when the ocean comes into view as soon as they crest a hill. "Look. We're right on time. Do you see, Zaagade, how the sky is turning orange?"
The switch flutters up...taking a good deal of hair up with him, wrapped around his wings. Pretty!

Father, I want to turn orange. Gah! You never listen to me! Zaagade, I want to be orange.
Yue hops up on a fire hydrant for a better view, amusing Tancred to no end. "I have seen it millions of times, and it never gets old..." He's not kidding, either. But then... she probably doesn't need to know that.

Orange is pretty! But blue's pretty too, isn't it? Mother, I want to be blue.
Of course, Minna neither hears nor listens. And Zaagade doesn't really mind this...really, he's kind of imitating and trying to impress Tancred.
Minna smiles, and nods. She does love the sunrise, and fully agrees...though she doesn't realize that he's not exagerrating.
The sunrise brightens gradually, quickly picking up to the kind of intense, amber yellow that brings a smile to Minna's face. It's precisely the colour that flashes through zaagade's crystals when the light hits them. She calls him over from speeding around the beach--he's determined that he can get quite the wake of sand flying several feet in both directions, and has been competing with Tancred for having the bigger scar cut into the beach. He flutters over to his mother happily when she calls, though.
"See, Zaagade...this is why your name is what it is. Doesn't this look a good deal like the colours in your skin?" Her fingers itch gently over his surface, though it's anyone's guess as to whether he can actually feel most of it.
