There were tears forming at the corner of his eyes again when he felt his helpless meter creeping back up.
Until she relented, that was. Li Shou stared up at Helmut in disbelief that she could find this violence fun. "I don't know how!" He finally squeaked, clawing at the dirt around him to try and pull himself away.

"You...fight...back?" Helmut still didn't quite understand how he managed to not know play fighting. Sure his Mother must have sheltered him, but he had all the markings of a feline creature...didn't they have instincts? She used to play with the arctic kitsunes all the time, and he looked just like them! A little darker, but still. She continued to sit on him, apparently not in any rush to move.
"Come on, it's fun! Try to push me off!" Someone had to teach this pup how to play right!

He may have had feline instincts, but by no means was the boil in touch with them. Li Shou briefly considered either begging, pleading, or insulting, but none of those options had helped him out of the situation thus far.
Looked like the only thing left to do was play her little game, no matter how much he disliked it.
His hands broke free from the dirt in an effort to shove the ghoul with all his might, fearing that nothing he did would be enough to receive a positive response. He was weak. His father had told him this many times, which made the situation seem all the more dire.

Helmut squealed in delight as the boil tried to shove her off. It was a weaker shove than she was expecting, but it was what it was; at least he was trying. Luckily he was play fighting someone with ample experience, and she only happily rolled with the shove, grabbing onto him as she flopped back dramatically. She pulled him with her, trying to subtly give him the upper hand in hopes it would encourage him to keep playing.

W-what was that squeal for? What was sh- "WAH!" was the only sound he managed as the boil was flipped.
For some reason he couldn't entirely grasp what had happened. Maybe because the boil had never expected to elicit such a strong reaction from what he had considered his weak shove.
Li Shou stared down at the Wendigo in confusion and bewilderment. "But.. My push wasn't that strong. Why did you do that?" His ears folded back at the thought that she might be mocking him. Certainly it would only serve him right, but being the stubborn, self-centered creature that he was, such a thought never crossed his mind.

Helmut's giggles ceased as she realized she was being talked to. "Play-fight-iiiing." She announced for what felt like the hundredth time. The ghoul squirmed under him, still holding his arms to play-grapple, not quite willing to give up just yet. He was making progress, just very, very slowly.
"We're just playing, you're not supposed to win or lose when you're playing!" Helmut nodded under her helmet, and eventually let go of one of his arms to knock the massive skull away, just in case. Once it was nice and out of range she started to scratch at the base of one of her tiny antlers. "Daddy said that it helps make you stronger, and it's okay because we're only playing. It's only bad when you mean to hurt someone." Helmut nodded sagely.

Li Shou's eyes widened as he finally seemed to grasp the core concept of play fighting (which, of course, was play). "O-oh." Yes, it clicked now. This was all a facade. For all intensive purposes, there was no harm intended, which was a weight off of his shoulders.
His arms finally grabbed hers in an attempt to feign a return grapple, a look of determination on his face. "I will take you down, pig monster!" Or maybe goat monster was more accurate? Goats ate everything too, and they had horns...

Helmut brightened when he seemed to finally get it, and, more importantly, decided to play. This was the best day ever! Even if it started terribly...and even though she was still hungry. The tiny ghoul once more squealed with delight and grappled right back, content at first to just leave it at that.
"Good luck with that, shoebox!" She shot back, her threat diminished entirely by the sheer amount of joy in her tone. He was, after all, the first creature who had really play fought with her. Even a little bit. Finally the grappling wasn't enough she she started to twist, trying to either get out from under him, or to flip him over in hopes of pinning him instead.

Li Shou couldn't remember the last time someone besides his mother sounded so happy to be around him. That in and of itself was encouraging.
The catboil went along with the flip, laughing as the tables purposefully turned against him. "Nooooooooo!" He cried out, wiggling like a worm. It wasn't hard to tell that he was finally having fun. How had he completely missed this activity through his childhood?

His cry made her laugh, but it didn't stop her; she recognized his tone since she had whined in a similar fashion so many times, because she was having fun. The pair of them continued to play fight, neither winning over the other, and eventually Helmut had to tap out. The tiny ghoul rolled away from her playmate and flopped a foot or two away, breathless and giggling. She was exhausted, and dirty, and hungrier than she had been when this whole fiasco started.
"I'm hungryyyyy..." She whined through her giggles, sprawling on the ground spread eagle, her eyes on the dark sky.

Li Shou unknowingly mimicked her movements, his arms spread out to either side of him, the odd feeling of prickly grass providing a small cushion for his body.
His head tilted to the side when the ghoul whined, a sigh escaping his mouth. "Me too, thanks to you eating all my fish." The boil smarted off as his tummy rumbled. His hands shifted to rest over his stomach. "You should make me dinner as penance." How long had it been since he had a home cooked meal? Really it hadn't been that long, but it certainly felt like it. The boil had been forced into culinary classes with his sisters, but none of them really paid attention. Why would they have? There were always servants to feed them.

"I didn't eat all of them!" Helmut whined loudly, staring at the sky. One little grey cheek puffed out, and then blew air up to puff out her bangs. She did eat most of them though. Who else could have? One moment there were lots of them on the ground, and then the next there were very few. She wanted to refute his suggestion (or was it an order? - Nah, suggestion), but it made some sort of sense. Besides, she argued with herself, he deserved the effort since he play fought for the first time in his life. That was cause to celebrate with food, right?
She only thought so hard on this because she didn't actually want to make anything. Making food took time, and she was hungry now.
"Fiiiiiine!" The tiny ghoul whined, throwing herself into a sitting position before putting a massive show into getting to her feet, as if she weighed thousands of pounds. "But just this once! And never again! Ever! Do you like raw meat?" It was an important question, because it would decide if she had to actually cook anything or not.
She then held her hand down to Shoebox and waited expectantly.

"MOST of them." He spoke out loud what she was thinking, arms folding over his chest. That meant he would have to go back to town and buy more. What a pain.
Her response was a welcome weight off of his shoulders. Yesssss, finally. A warm, home cooked m-
... Raw meat?
"I have never eaten uncooked meat in my life!" Li Shou almost sounded offended at the very idea. "All of my meals were cooked to purrrfection at home, and I will settle for no less!" Hesitantly, his arms unfolded to grasp her hand. "I suppose that kind of thing doesn't matter to a pig monster, though."

"Okaaaay Captain prissypants!" Helmut threw her arms up in exasperation at his offended tone, but went right back to offering her hand anyway, pulling him bodily to his feet. Then, the moment he was up, she pushed him. Not hard enough to purposefully send him to the ground, but still a good shove nonetheless. "NOT a pig monster!" She whined, loudly, and turned from him to scoop up the massive skull helm, shoving it back on her head. Then, quite animatedly, she took his hand again, this time to lead him to the Monster dorms.
The ghoul navigated the maze of hallways with relative ease, and eventually ended in front of her room. The door was unlocked, opened, and held out for him to enter first. On first glance, her room looked meticulously pristine. The bed was made without a wrinkle, the decorations and picture frames placed just so; it was rather reminiscent of a hotel room, or a bed and breakfast. The only thing that broke the illusion was the mess in the kitchenette on the far side of the dorm. Pots and pans - though clean - left out and ready to use, in no obvious order whatsoever.
"Go, sit somewhere!" She shoo'd him into her room.

Li Shou simply huffed at her name calling, though his eyes widened as she shoved him. "Wah!" He stumbled back slightly, puffing up as his tail balanced the boil out. Oh Helmut, you would always be a pig monster to him. As she grabbed her helmet, he took the opportunity to shove his items back into the picnic basket from whence they came, including Mao Mao
The catboil had been about to follow her when his hand was reclaimed to lead him along like a child. "Hey!" He looked mad at first, but it melted away after the first few seconds. Truth be told, the contact was comforting.
It would have been an understatement to say that Li Shou was shocked by the condition of Helmut's room. He was downright flabbergasted. All he had imagined was a nasty pig sty and how difficult it would be to actually eat a meal there.
"Oh... Okay." The boil shuffled over to the first seat available, hands folding in his lap. It was only then that he noticed how dirty his clothes had once again become. Looked like Helmut had the right idea in wearing the most casual of clothing. Almost every time Li Shou ventured into the outside world was hazardous for his expensive wardrobe.
"What're you making?" He asked, ears perked.
