Nιηα Pєℓαια Nina didn't even have time to protest before the half dwarf boy scooped up one of her suitcases and brought it to the top of the staircase, returning in under half a minute. "Wow, um..thanks i suppose. You must be pretty strong to do that so quickly." Her attention turned to the meowing that had started up again from the cat carrier perched upon the remaining suitcase. Ooh i forgot, it's rather cramped in there isn't it? Opening the carrier, Nina gently lifted her cat out of its confinement and attempted to comfort it by cradling it in her arms, murmuring an apology. "Well..." She started, returning to the conversation. "in my opinion, the four way capture the flag does seem the most appealing." She gave a nod towards Naomi "Though im not really sure how'd it work with four teams and four flags. Plus we'd have to do it in the day if it's to be in the forest with the Blood Pact running around and all." Nina gave her cat a comforting squeeze. "But unless we come up with a better idea, im up for that."

Averill gave Nina a bright smile when she piped up without stuttering. Also at the compliment- he didn't really think of himself as strong, just kinda sturdy. It was surprisingly nice to hear a girl call him strong. His cheeks went a little darker tan when he thought about it for more than a second. "So. Two for treasure or scavenger, two for capture the flag." He stated, then tilted his head "Who is our house representative, anyway? They're the ones who will have to write a proposal, so they should get an extra vote."

[I have returned aka motormouth naomi]ɴαoмι prιтcнeтт

Naomi shrugged. "Alright, not at night. That's asking for trouble. But during the day is boring, too, because the forest isn't as interesting in broad daylight." She pursed her lips, thinking. The night was out, obviously, but... Naomi snapped her fingers. "Why not late afternoon into evening? It won't be nearly as dark then, so the worst of the little beasties won't be out. It could be right after dinner too, so the houses would have time to strategize beforehand."
At the consideration of the games, though, Naomi fell quiet for a bit longer. Finally, she said, "Capture the flag or something like it would be better, because if we set up a scavenger or treasure hunt then it won't be nearly as entertaining for us. Plus, there's plenty of factors that neither of you have remembered." She started counting them off on her fingers. "The teachers can patrol the forest to make sure we're all playing fair and keep us safe. Carrmin's sphere of influence keeps out the worst of the creatures in the forest, and if the rumored Pact unit gets anywhere near us, then he'll be sure to alert us. It wouldn't take long to set up, either - we could ask the fairies in the Spring to help erect the flags." She paused. "We can draw out a rough map and have Miss Pilon duplicate it for us. And if anyone's dumb enough to get sucked into a dimensional rip, then it's on their own heads. They aren't hard to get out of, really."
At the mention of the rep, Naomi shrugged again. "We haven't voted for one. I think we're gonna vote one in a week before school starts, and that's the window we have to submit our proposal."

♈ Sσℓαяα Aєяαтαк ♈ The door to the commons opened and closed, a girl stepping through. Her right hand in her pocket and her left holding the handle of a luggage, she looked around. Huh. This place was different. A small smile on her face, she looked around the room curiously. Her heels gently clicked on the floor, sometimes a little more than they should since the girl stumbled. Dang it, how did urban elves even walk in these things? The young elf girl, Solara, continued to wander before finding a place to sit. The luggage train behind her easily flopped near her legs, and she stared at the cage that lay ontop of one of them. Inside lay an owl, who stared back at his owner. He gave off a little noise of the owls, 'whoo'. " I dunno Oliver.. " He replied with the same whoo before she stood up to wander about the room.

Averill shrugged, giving in. If people wanted to fight, instead of build an event around exploring and finding things, they could do what they wanted. It didn't say that the event was compulsory in any of the rulebooks he'd seen. "Well, Shanta and Aerykah, from the other houses, seem to be keen on the idea of a capture the flag game." He offered with a slight grin. I wonder if that will put her right off because she'd give them what they want, or if she'll only want to do it more to beat them...
A girl with strikingly red hair just wandered in, mid conversation, walked circles around her housemates and then began talking to her owl. He waved at her, wondering if she was on drugs or something. She was even having trouble walking, by the looks of it! "Hello? Miss? Yoohoo?" He called to her "Please don't leave your luggage down here- the commonroom is crowded enough as it is." The dwarf boy asked the new elf girl politely.

Naomi shrugged; she didn't remember much about the Aerykah girl, besides her constantly changing her damn hair color, and she didn't really care about Shanta. The little brat had given her enough drama last year. "I don't care what we play, honestly," she said. "Capture the flag would be pretty easy to set up, I guess, but a scavenger hunt with some anti-cheat parchment would work fine too. I just think it should be in the forest, to make things a bit more... interesting." She grinned. "Regardless of what we play, sundown should be the time limit."
She glanced up as the door opened. A redhead? That's new. She couldn't tell for sure, but Naomi suspected the headphones obscured pointed ears. She looked new, which meant she was a first year, and... was that her top? Tactful Naomi's only outward sign of anger was her jaw tightening. She couldn't fault the girl for great style, of course; clearly she had better fashion sense than most other students. But... it was her top. Naomi decided she didn't like the girl.
Even more ughworthy was her apparent habit of dropping her s**t in the middle of the common room and then wandering about. Naomi couldn't fault her for wandering either; she'd done the same when she was a first year. Ekaterina Commons had a lot to look at. But she wasn't going to give the girl any leeway when it came to her luggage. "Hey," she said in a sharp tone, "Take your stuff upstairs and pick a bunk. You can look around after."

♈ Sσℓαяα Aєяαтαк ♈ Solara continued to wander, finally removing her shoes. Dammit, she was going to get back at her friend for this. A polite tone and a shapr tone came at her all at once and she jumped back, startled. ...Yeah, maybe she wouldn't wear those noise canceling headphones in school. The headphones slipped down her, resting calmly on her neck. They weren't connected to anything. The red-head blushed sheepishly and gave a small bow. " I-i'm sorry. I tend to get side tracked... S-sorry... " She grumbled. Glancing at the girl who gave her the sharp tone, she held back a shiver and gave a small 'thank-you' smile to the shorter male. Taking her luggage, she hurried up into the dorms with a sigh. " Congratulations, Solara. Made a fool of yourself the first day... " She mumbled to herself with a sigh. This was going to be one hell of a year.

Averill watched the redhead rush away up the stairs, then fell back into studying the map. "Well, when we decide who is our hosue rep, they can make the final descision." He dismissed the conversation, seeing as it would be impossible and silly to do any further planning until a rep was elected.
He'd spotted the library on the map, and was planning to go there soon. Catching up on the readings was important, as was acquainting himself with the weekly parchment and the other students.

Naomi nodded. Averill had a point. "No sense in talking in circles. Rep votes are in a couple weeks, so once we know who it is we'll have seven days to send in a proposal." She glanced at the redhead with the great fashion sense (even though she stole her top) and offered a shrug. "Don't do it again. The common room's already crowded enough as it is. You can't get from one side to the other without tripping over some freakin' books." Well, if she was going to be spending the next year or so with this elf (the headphones revealing the ears confirmed it), she may as well know her name. "Naomi Pritchett, third year. Welcome to Ekat, newbie."
She stretched in her seat. God, today was shaping up to be pretty boring. The first few weeks of school were. Naomi wished something interesting would happen, like last year when that dryad had run loose for a week.

Averill Hammershod The weeks passed by quickly, in the leadup to classes beginning. Averill mostly got his bearing around campus, though some parts were still a mystery. He seemed to do a lot of exploring alone, and never DID end up going into town with the girls from the other houses. He reckoned it was because outings were too hard to organize when the school didn't have a formal postal system. Relying on rats and owls and bats and frogs seems so inefficient. Animals can't tell time, so how will they know if they deliver a message late? And how do they even know where the recipient is? None of us even have mailboxes! And using the bulletin board doesn't work either. I don't know if anyone but me checks it.Before they knew it, it was time to elect a representative and hand in an event proposal. Well. Averill knew it was time- it was marked on his calendar which was stapled to the (ceiling? Underside of someones bunk?) above his pillow. 'Organization is key to success.' Was the quote of the month, and he agreed with it wholeheartedly. Averill stomped his way down the dorm stairs on purpose, hoping to wake everyone up. "We're going to have a meeting, Ekaterines!"He tacked up a piece of paper to a wall in front of the couch. It may have covered like, three maps and one possibly-map-possibly-Rorschach-Test, but he was going to take it down later, anyway.

It took a few moments, but Naomi tromped down the stairs with a hairbrush. "Ekaterines...?" she grumbled, dragging it through her bedhead. "Is that really necessary? And you're a first year, the hell gives you the right to call a meeting?"
Regardless of Averill's authority, Naomi had come downstairs, if only to see what the hell the ruckus was. She glanced at the paper he'd stuck over the map of 8th century Mongolia, but nobody ever used that one, so it didn't matter.

Sylvia was already awake. She had been awake for the past two consecutive days. Her eyes were hooded and obviously sleep deprived, and there was something bright pink burning into her jeans. She didn't seem to notice that or much of anything. In fact, she hadn't gone down the stairs after Naomi for Averill's calling of a meeting at all. This much was obvious, as she seemed to be slowly dragging herself to the common room's door while muttering under her breath.
She passed Averill and Naomi without even a greeting, a long stream of chemical equations and combinations of odd ingredients leaving her mouth. Cinnamon was nowhere to be seen. ooo ᴄʜᴇᴍɪsᴛ ┊┊ sᴛᴏɴᴇ

Averill Hammershod "I don't have the right to call a meeting...?" The half-dwarf answered Naomi's question with uncertainty, then straightened up "But seeing as we have no house rep yet, its a free-for-all! Anyone can call a meeting!" He decided this was the most logical outcome. "So, who have we got here..." He mumbled under his breath, facing the paper. "I'm too young, Nina is too young, Solara is too ditzy..."He frowned when he realized he had almost exhausted the list of Ekaterines he knew. "Ah... So that leaves Naomi and Syl...vi....ah?" He watched the 4th year shamble across the carpet, blinking slowly, then wrote those two names up on the paper. He continued to watch Sylvia, noticing she was muttering to herself. His eyes flicked back to Naomi. "You know what, I don't think Miss Wood is quite up to it."He put a strike through Sylvias name. "I suppose I didn't need to call a house meeting after all." He scratched his blonde sideburns and laughed a little at himself. Jennalaia OOC: Could we have a timeskip? I feel like a lot has happened since this point in time
