1 Week On 16/01/2014
After The Reign of Fear and the eternity it seemed to last, time once again began to fly by like normal until eventually, a week had passed. The main areas that bore the brunt of the assault: Coast City, Metropolis and Gotham easily begun their repairs and using their experience in cleaning up after super-powered individuals shortened the process to take little time at all.

Now that it was all over, the heroes now united could return to their normal lives. They could go to school. They could work. And eventually they could go back to their duties as superheroes; what's more is that more and more Legacies also began to develop. The world was finally recovering, the Void filling.

But just as the Crystal Grave was now inscribed with the word "WEAK" across its beautiful face, more and more things began to change. The White House shuddered. The President was unsure. How was he meant to deal with the Gods Now Amongst his people again? How was he meant to reign in people so powerful that they could decimate a whole army with a shoddy construct and a misfire?

The World was on the edge of its seat...

And the Universe looked on expectantly...

User ImageThe time of staying seated in the darkness, watching the world evolve with the times, has ended...

Irok listened to the girls as he looked at the car that was smashed by the robot. 'Gods, this is what I get for not being serious.' Irok thought as he looked at his hand, sighing as he wasn't able to produce even a form of light or darkness at the moment, looking over at the girls and their reactions to the scene. 'No need to worry about it now, there's too many people putting the blame on themselves. Might as well train and strategize for the battles of the future.'

"Right then, we best be off before they mistake two teens and a woman for terrorists. Besides, destruction isn't a place for talking." Irok spoke as he turned and began walking before he stopped and looked back over smiling. "Though it does help to know which way we're heading."

The horns have been sounded, and I return to battle once again..

Blaire Mc.Hollow - Lady Blood

"I will help the best I can. No evil will bring down Justice."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Allegiance: Justice League
Status: Healthy
Thoughts: "I need to find someone to help me see clear through this chaos..."
Place: Queensland Park
Leaving towards the 'Druids Lawn'
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Right...", she answered and followed the young man, "My shop is close to North Bridge on the far west edge towards the Old City.". She took the lead and guided the young duo out of the Queensland Park. "I know it wasn't my fault...", Blaire sighed deeply and hoped to find whoever was responsible, "It's...just..." She struggled slightly with her answer. Even though they were younger, Blaire was shying away, not yet able to find comfort in talking with strangers. "...he wouldn't have failed them...", she muttered and guided the two towards the way she had come from, "...and it...could have done something...

The Green Beetle

Thoughts: New York is a great place man.
Company: None
Location: Coast City -------> Queensland Park, NY

Z flew into Queensland Park his green suit gleaming sight. A weird vision for the resident's but surely they were used to the famous Superman. The martian sat at a nearby park bench, a peculiar site to the man next to him who seemed to shuffle away, his newspaper rustling as he did so. Thought there was no one screaming the dirty looks that humans gave him amused him. He had heard about the wars spreading around the country which made him complain about human's state of mind and the rumors, if they were to be believed, was that a human started the commotion.

"How interesting" he murmured to himself.
"Yes. Yes indeed." said the Green Scarab in response.

“Now Mr. Freeman, you remember the story?”

Morgan let out a short sigh, which sounded more annoyed than relived, upon hearing the question. “I remembered it the first twenty times.” Morgan grumbled, looking out the tinted window of the black Sedan. The mildly attractive female manger was rather annoying, she kept pestering him with the story and what he’d say at the press conference. She didn’t want know what had happened, she probably assumed it was some type of scandal or something. All she cared about was using the opportunity to boost his popularity. Is that what the world thinks? Or do they only want to believe what they see.

Glancing out of the window, Morgan noticed something odd and out of place, something that caused his ring to release green sparks of will power. Flee! Area is compromised! His ring shouted in his head. Morgan’s eyes quickly scanned the field, but all he could find that weird green thing. He could feel the fear building in him, it was weird, but regardless he allowed the Sedan to move on.
A few seconds later the thing he had once seen was gone, blocked by trees as they drove by. Morgan’s face hardened, he had no idea what had happened. It seemly came out of nowhere. Luckily, his manager who happened to be driving had not seen his ring or its reaction. “Aliens. I f***ing hate them.” She growled from the front. Morgan continued to remain silent from the backseat. There was something about what just happened that hit him uneasy.
A few minutes later, he found himself staring out the window looking at a large crowd on the other side of the park. Morgan had yet to decide what he was going to say, but the easiest thing to do was to say the given speech. With a second delay after the car stopped, Morgan opened the door and stepped out of the car. He was wearing a casual long sleeve button up shirt with black grey jeans on along with a pair of light brown hiking boots.
Slowly, Morgan walked up onto the podium and he looked out at the crowd of people sitting in lawn chairs. There was immense chatter among them, he didn’t know what they were saying nor what did he care. All he cared about right now was doing what he had to do. Clearing his throat, Morgan began his speech. “I came here today, to show you all I’m all okay, but you probably could see that. For the last two weeks, there’s been speculations that I could have possibly been washed away at sea or been picked up by pirates or that I may have been involved in the bridge rescue last we-“

“Mr. Freeman, you don’t honestly expect us to believe the new Green Lantern would happen to save the very same bridge you were on while you were nowhere to be seen. Not to mention, on your return to New York.” A blond female reporter shot.

Slightly baffled, Morgan regained his composure and proceeded to cut her off at the end. “I know that it's confusing. It is one thing to question the official story, and another thing entirely to make wild accusations, or insinuate that I'm a superhero.”

“I never said you were a superhero.”

“Didn’t?” Morgan asked, slightly raising his right eyebrow.

“Mmmm- hmmm.”

Morgan offered a wry smile to the crowd before going onward. “Well, good, because that would be insane and, uh, awesome. I'm just not the hero type. Clearly. With this shopping list of character defects, all the mistakes I've made, largely public.”

Out of the corner of his eyes, he could see his manager making a face at him. One that spelt the words, ‘What the hell are you doing?’

Honestly, he didn’t know what he was doing up here. It was as if he had come to only make a fool of himself. Morgan wasn’t on this podium to lie, but answer questions to where he had been and what had happened, but yet. He was lying to the world and these people in front him about who he was. He had done nothing wrong; he had gone to Oa to become a protector of this planet. To be there hero they deserved even if they didn’t want it.
Morgan slowly looked up to meet the eyes of the audience after its short departure. “The truth is… I am the Green Lantern.”

Everything rides on Hope now.

Anya was walking by a little, hole-in-the-wall diner when she caught sight of an all too familiar face, on the television, in the corner. Floods of emotion swept over her. Her heart stopped and she may have blinked a few times after pinching herself, so hard it left a mark on her arm.

"Ow," she muttered to herself. She walked closer to the television set and stared. Her eyes were not playing tricks. That son of a gun, had come back to life and she was going to kill him. At least, she wanted to make him thing that she would.

It took a minute for her the message, from her brain, to command her feet to move, and to move fast. She raced for her tiny Toyota and fumbled with her keys, to start the car. She moved the mess of her, long, dark hair out of her face and zipped down the road, making sure that she wasn't going to break any laws.

She found a parking spot, quite far from where she knew the interview was taking place, but she would get there. She would get there and she would see for herself that this was no trick. That everything she had hoped for, for him would be there. He would be there, unharmed and she would...Well, she didn't quite know what she was going to do.

Anya felt hopeful, but at the same time she felt stuck in a state of disbelief. Where had he gone? Why didn't he call her? Didn't he know what this did to her?

Anya got out of her car and ran until she saw the crowd of reporters and Morgan, standing there. Claiming that he was the green lantern. She touched the blue ring, on her own hand. Lantern or not, he would get a piece of her mind. She stood there, in the crowd, glaring at him, in her black cargo pants, blue t-shirt and black jacket. Oh, yes. He would know exactly how she felt.

After the announcement that Morgan was the Green Lantern, there was a wave of silence that lasted all of two seconds, then suddenly everyone had questions. Everyone was pressing forward with their recorders, trying to get their questions answered and get the scoop.

A loud whistle rang through the group and about half of the reporters stopped to look for the source. A raven-haired tall female pushed her way through the crowd to stand in the front. "Mister Freeman, there are reports and sightings of another Green Lantern. Why use a name that's already taken? Unless it wasn't you who chose your name. And if it wasn't you, who was it?" she asked. The question raised other questions from the reporters, and in the midst of the new waves of questions, some of them could be heard above the others. 'Do you know the other Green Lantern?' and 'Why did you become Green Lantern?' were two that were asked louder than the rest.

After a week had passed, the events of the small war led by the Yellow Lantern had seemed to died down. There was various articles in the newspaper that the woman flipped through about the events. There were the heroes that fought others and there were the heroes that protected civilians outside of the battle. One particular article was about the heroes that were outside of the war.

Dark green nails pinched the thin paper slightly as emerald eyes focused in on the article. There were reports of Hawkgirl and Red Arrow trashing some famous man's building and stopping a drug bust. There were reports of death and authorities in hot pursuit of the two as they were wanted for questioning. The female tore the newspaper up, lips curling as she scoffed at the accusations. The Thanagarian soldier and Red Arrow did no such thing in killing those men in the streets. She told the male if he so much as lashed out on those men when she left, she would tear him apart. Well, that said male was s**t out of luck. She was a woman of her word and as soon as she found him the next time they encountered each other, he would feel the wrath of Horus being brought down upon him by her mace.

She stood up from the bench she was sitting on at the park. The city was Metropolis and it was quite the busy place compared to Coast City. She had come there in search of the Man of Steel, but nothing came up so far. Either he was laying low for the moment or like her mentors and the archer, he simply faded from existence. Adjusting the greek styled necklace on her neck, Nyura looked over to see a bunch of humans gathering around with various cameras and microphones. Since her search was a bit in vain, she followed in suit out of curiosity.

The long black boots she wore over the dark blue jeans clicked on the concrete trails before landing on the soft grass. The ginger haired female watched on as a black male stood in front of them all, speaking about certain events in his life. Was he a "celebrity" she kept hearing so much about or someone important? Then there were talks of one of the Green Space Officers being sighted in the same area, the questions the male seemed to dodge with other questions to brush off the absurd accusations. The problem was that the female talking to him never said anything abou him being a Green Lantern and almost in some kind of awry unison, Nyura's red eyebrow raised in suspicion at the man at the top.

While the conversations went on, she began to examine his bodily features. His head was bald like the other and his skin matched like the other (John Stewart). Clearly in her eyes, he had to be a Green Lantern and if he was, he had to have had answers about the other Justice League Members, namely Shiera and Carter. With that, the female Thanagarian disguised as a human was more than ready to push past the crowd and get right up to where he was at and demand questions. She would whisk him away in the air if she had to in order to escape the crowd with their annoying questions.

Rolling up the sleeves of her thin coat, Nyura pushed past the crowd, hoping to get towards the man while trying her hardest in not knocking a bunch of bozo's that "accidentally" grabbed her. Her question was far more important than they useless cries of another Green Justicar or why he chose to take on such a role.

"Never let anyone tell you the odds, fight fate instead. I am now Hawkgirl"

The brief silence was deafening, he hadn't prepared himself for the reaction of the crowd, but he wasn't surprised. Their reactions contained shock, glee, rage, and confusion. He could see more people arriving, and by taking a glance at his manager, she was certainly filling up with rage, but there was something else in her eyes.

Morgan's eyes refocused on the crowd as the burst of life came at him. He wasn't sure of who to answer first, or how to start. There were notes for how to start, but he had gone off script. However, a whistle cut through the crowd that caught his attention. "Well.... it's kinda obvious, because I can. " He chuckled light, tossing his hands into the air. "Do I need any other reason? There used to be four Green Lantern flying around as if they were a gang. We're not a gang, we're galactic policeman working for the head honchos; The Smurfs of the Universe... I mean Guardians." Hopefully that got a few of them to chuckle, but then he remembered. None of them saw the Guardians. Way to go Morgan. Making jokes about something stupid. ,he thought to himself. Trying to get to the other questions, he looked out to the crowd and off of the raven hair woman. "Regardless, I choose this name because I could. Would you rather I be named Power Ring? And that sounds f***ing stupid. But yeah I know the other Green Lantern. We was didn't become Green Lanterns because we could. Neither of us did. We were chosen to by our rings to be the protectors this planet needs, not the ones it wants. And to answer your question, I became a Green Lantern because I will protect this planet even if it means the death of me."

Despite his small speech, his eyes had caught sight of a particular ginger, who happened to stand out to him. For one, she was fighting to the front and she had no recorder raised in the air. Someone he didn't even know. And yet, he had not even noticed his best friend.

Chaos ensued as the news broke that Morgan Freeman was actually the Newest addition to the Superhero roster. They were beginning to pop up like ants these costumed freaks and things and now some people were even taking pride in it. It was like the punk had ripped this whole scene out of a film or something; trying his best to deny it, until eventually starved of the attention he craved for himself, he had to come out with it. It was all a stunt, all a means for Morgan Freeman to feel all the more entitled to his celebrity status. True, Green Lanterns had done it before in the forms of Guy Gardener and John Stewart but they had earned their keep and this guy, at least in this reporters eyes, had a long way to go before he would do the same.

Allowing the raven haired ladies questioned to be answered, this man of the rag stood up and raised his hand to eventually be told by Morgan's panicking management that it was good for him to speak. And speak he would. He would not only speak his mind but the minds of everyone else whom had had to undergo the horrific scenes of last week: "Then where were you when the yellow one showed up, huh?" A stunned silence befell the crowd as they looked towards the standing journalist "The other guy was here, where were you and speaking of the other guy... If you're so happy to flaunt your little light show, how comes he wears a mask? The guy dropped a bomb on Dropaway Beach in Coast City and he can't even be identified. Is that fair? I mean, you can stand there bold as brass being all 'I'm a Green Lantern and I say I am because I want to be' but then we have another Green Lantern replacement who looks nothing more than a brat in a stylish new costume and a mask? What's the deal with that? And furthermore, why should we let some Aliens that you seem to have no respect for, evident in the fact you called them 'smurfs' even though they're supposed to be your boss, govern our planet? And who the hell are you to enforce such laws, you're a daredevil! What do you know about the law?" The journalist could probably hound at Morgan like this for hours and question by question the crowd of microphones and recorders also began to doubt. Unease wafted through the air. Unrest began to circulate amongst the suits and ties and fedoras.

And questions, so many questions needed to be answered.

Anya listened to the silence. It was the calm before the storm of questions and boy did it rain down on Morgan. She shook her head, he almost deserved the flood for announcing his new identity. At least they wouldn't be speculating for eternity like they did with Batman or other masked heroes. Not, that the lanterns were exactly masked, or that they wouldn't be able to see that Morgan was the Green Lantern.

Her eyes flashed to the woman who asked the questions. She could feel Morgan digging himself deeper into the sea of questions.Anya wondered what she could do to rescue him when she glanced to another woman who looked like she was fuming. Anya raised an eyebrow at her. If anyone was supposed to be angry with Morgan, it would be Anya, not some chick who looked like she thought he was her property.

Anya, saw yet another woman with blond hair approach the session. She wondered, for a split second what a bunch of women were doing there. Then, she glanced at Morgan and found herself answering her own question.

Anya decided to let Morgan sink a little bit more. Something didn't feel right, in the crowd, anyway and it wasn't just the amount of women in attendance.

Nyura was finally in a decent position to be able to land right in front of the male that claimed he was a Green Lantern, but a gut feeling told her not to. Already, the male was making a fool of himself when he made jokes about things people never knew or heard of namely with the Guardians. Even the warrior herself knew little about the pint sized Oan guardians other than the fact that they created the Green Lanterns in an effort to help keep law on a global scale. Very few Lanterns were Thanagarians and very few of Lanterns even came to Thanagar. They had ways of protecting themselves.

Nyura's head turned in the direction of a man that began to ask a series of questions towards the so called Daredevil. From the way the man was asking, he was aiming to tear the male above down worse than the previous woman before had done. Bringing her wrist up, Nyura slowly tapped on a golden armlet on her wrist, the sound of small beeping sounds being heard. The female needed to know what was truly going on in order for her to try and not to get angry at their words. She also needed to know who the man above her was as well. The best way to do that was to read their minds. With no other choice, Nyura turned the Absorbacon, cleverly disguised in the golden armlet, on her eyes closing as she began to take in the thought process of everyone around her, including Morgan Freeman's.

As if she was standing there, clad in her Thanagarian armor, Nyura was walking side by side with Morgan as he came to the planet Oa. She witnessed him conversing with the other Lantern the man asked about, known simply as Lantern Wickes. She even learned some of Morgan's culture and customs and sad for her own mind to think, he was full of himself like the woman's song he was apparently singing. The last source of information she needed from him was that Wickes was taking a break after his endeavor with the now dead Yellow Lantern, Grant. She had all she needed from Morgan. He spoke the truth about being a new Green Lantern. A door began to stretch upwards in the Central Meeting Hall in bright white lights as the Thanagarian walked out of his memories.

Grabbing the mental knob of the male reporter's memories, Nyura stepped inside to see what she needed to gather about the current situation. Aside from a life that she found repulsive, Nyura was able to determine what was going on. A press conference was taking place and this man they were questioning was a well known daredevil. She could not imagine in her lifetime as to why someone would take such a profession, but Nyura did not want to stay in the man's thoughts and mind any longer. She'd have to kill him if that happened.

Nyura was about to turn the Absorbacon off when another interesting thought pattern hit her with a mental jerk. She turned in the direction of a woman with long dark hair.
"A Blue Lantern..."

The thought lingered in her mind as she turned the Absorbacon off, time seemingly resuming it's course around her. Time never stood still while she used the device, but when probing through various minds, it seemed as if everyone's actions then and there came to a halt as she made the process of probing through various minds for answers.

Nyura's golden sharp eyes opened as she was able to determine the best course of action. She was going to let them take questions at him. While doing so, she was going to ask some of her own and defend the man.
"Clearly the other has his reasons."Her voice cut through the crowd as nothing but confidence rang out her voice. She looked at the man and chuckled a little. If she was going to play the part of being a reporter, it made no sense in acting like she needed to be scared. It was time to make the other look like an amateur."You've seemed to have no problem accepting these "smurfs" help before when the other Lanterns protected us."

She really wanted the man to say something else and she would jump on his personal life with questions she knew about like a hawk. She then turned to look at Morgan."He does however raise some concerning questions. If you were the daredevil you say you are, wouldn't you have been out here saving our asses or did you cower away for your own safety at the last minute? Furthermore, if revealing your identity out to everyone now, how much of a risk would that put your loved ones if you have any at all and for that matter, what happened to the previous Lanterns if someone like you is taking their place?"

Her own set of questions began to cause mild murmurs within the crowded press as they wanted more answers from Morgan.

"Never let anyone tell you the odds, fight fate instead. I am now Hawkgirl"

Allowing the reporter to speak, Morgan focused his eyes on the man wearing the fedora. The ginger was probably an observer like the ones in the back. Right now, he had a problem to deal with before it became a wildfire. And this time, without the help of his manager. Though it seemed to be as if the Ginger he had thought to be an observer came to his aid.

Morgan stared the journalist down as if he were his rival. "I don't know who you are dude, but thing is. Before a cop becomes a cop. He goes to the Academy to be trained. I was being trained. I had no idea what happened here until I met the other green lantern at the end of it. The other Lantern was the original solo protector-" Morgan paused, debating on how to say. F*** it. "And now, I'm his partner. He wears a mask because he has people to protect, a life to live without the interference of people like you, something that I lack. Who are so caught up in their own being of getting a story that it drives him to the point of insanity? Heroes keep who they are a secret for a reason, I'm revealing myself to you people because I know I have faults. I'm a human just like you, not someone who views himself above you like a god. The other Green Lantern is a person, he may seem look like a brat, but at least he has the guts to take a stand to protect you, ever single last one of you. And these Guardians, the aliens I called smurfs. And thanks you to the Miss for helping me with this point. They've been doing it since before you were born, any of us were born. Probably before this whole planet existed and you never even knew. Almost everyone has had a boss they didn't care for, so don't act like this is a foreign concept." Morgan said with a fierce fire behind his words. He didn't know Ian well, but the guy didn't deserve to be bashed on. Ring... send a message to Ian telling him to get turn a TV or the news. He should be aware of this. Broadcast it through his ring if not.

Morgan took a step towards the podium to take a closer look at the crowd. "Whether a person has powers or doesn't, be a daredevil or a saint, no matter what type of person we are. At the end of the day we are all the same on the inside. People. We make mistakes and go on to live another day. I don't have any right to enforce the law. I'm doing what is right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. So by stopping a robbery in progress or a madman on a rampage. I'm not enforcing the law; I'm aiding them, because I'm definitely not reading anyone their rights and sending them to a police station. But when it comes to things that deal with Lanterns threatening not only the US, but this planet. We'll do what needs to be done."

Yet there was one question left unanswered, one he'd have to figure out. Back on Oa, apparently there was a way to view the previous wielders lives with the ring and that meant, it could give him some answers or... even a playback with readings. Morgan looked at the ginger with steady eyes, "And I believe you earned yourself a personal interview. Next question." The public didn't need to know about how the Lanterns disappeared or any of the other heroes disappeared. They were fine without the knowledge and the less they knew, the less they would fear.

Everything rides on Hope now.

Anya watched and listened to the young woman ask more questions, but it seemed like she was defending Morgan, at the same time. She listened to Morgan's answers and caught the part where he mentioned the other Green Lantern wore a mask because he had people to protect. Although, Anya would put a stop to any idea that she needed protection, she felt a part of her aching.

Did he forget me? What did they do to him there?

Then, as always, she held on to the last thing she knew she had. Hope. She hoped that it was just a slip, but he hadn't even looked at her. That hurt.
