Their was no way to avoid being smashed by the worm. It was massive and blocking with his sword would be fatal. He would taking the hit straight on. Being flung back nearly ten feet before hitting a rock that had jagged out. He cringed in pain. Landing on the ground he was close to going unconscious.

"Frederick!" she yelled in horror. The worm threatening to land another attack kept Rowan from running towards him, she glared at the worm. "Damn you, Merkaba Hanzelkrusha!" she yelled. Beams of sharp light emanated from her staff towards the beast, cutting its jagged skin. The worm curled back as the waves dug deep into its flesh, howling in pain. The worm collapsed on the ground and lay, squirming but unable to attack. Rowan turned and ran towards Frederick. She kneeled beside him and waved her staff over him. "Heal!"

He groaned as he looked up to her. His vision slowly recollecting itself. He would eye the creature. Pulling out his flaming long sword. He looked past her to see the worm. "Be careful. He grunted.

Rowan nodded. The worm continued to squirm in its place, inching its way towards them. "Just stay still and focus on your breathing for now. I'll take care of it" she said. Rowan looked at his sword and took it, standing. She walked over to the squirming worm. She took a deep breath, gripping the sword, and slashed the sword down on him, blood splattering as the beast was cut cleanly in half. It screeched but she continued to swing at it until it didn't move. Breathing heavily she returned and set the sword beside him, kneeling beside him again.

He chuckled at her exhaustion. "It isn't as easy as you thought it looks is it?" He said as he coughed slightly to the bruise mark on his chest that was amplified by the slam he took.

She took a flask of water from her bag and opened it, handing it to him. "Try not to move, it'll hurt more. Do you think you can get up and continue?" she asked softly, already getting ready to cast another healing spell on him. Meanwhile the troops had reached the first cave and were beginning to explore it.

He coughed again and started wheezing. "Who do you think I am? ((*Cough*)) Some sort of prophet?" He chuckled painfully as he held his chest. "God it hurts." He would open up his jacket and lifted his shirt. The brooze was massive, nearly swelling his entire chest and some of his abdomen. "He got me good... I'll give the creature that much..."

"My goodness..." she said when he lifted his shirt to reveal the massive bruise. That would be a no for her question. Rowan reached into her bag and took out a smaller vial. "I can make the swelling go down, though it might still sting. You'll have to rest for a bit." she said. She uncapped the vial. A revolting scent similar to that of fish intestines wafted the area. Rowan put some on the bruised area. "I got this from the healers, figured something like this might happen." she said. Rowan then lifted her staff over the bruise. The area with the applied salve would glow faintly as it tried to repair the bruises.

His face cringed. Twisting his hand on the grip of his hatchet. "My god... this is terrible!" He let out a painful growl as it burned him up. He wanted to simply shave his chest and get it over with. Looking down to see the glow. He could see that it was working. "I hope I make it out of this alive..."

The area grew brighter for a moment before dimming down. "Of course you will. I'm sure you'll survive a bruise." she said. Rowan set her staff aside once the glowing ended. She checked the salve, nodding at seeing it was slowly doing its job. Rowan nudged the water flask at him. "Told ya it'd sting. Do you feel any better?" she asked.
Screams of men would be heard loudly from the other cave.

"It still hurts... but I'll try." He said getting up on his feet now. "Maybe if I had worn my armor." He regretted as he picked up his weapons. Heading over to the cave now. Hopefully he wasn't to late.

Rowan offered to help him walk. In the cave, there were echoes of screams and swords clashing. Three guards were thrown out of the cave to their doom while the rest were running out. A creature reached out and shoved another few. The remaining guards were only 2/3 with what they started.

Frederick grumbled as he looked in. "We're not ready for this..." He said as he grabbed his chest again. Looking down to it. It must have been something on his back. "I don't want to leave them behind, but I don't have much of a choice."

Rowan nodded, waving her staff over him for another minor healing spell. "Alright, only you know your limits. Rest for a bit, maybe you'll feel better afterwards." she said, leading him to a rock. The guards near the mountain started heading tk a neighboring cave. They weren't giving up yet, despite the losses. Watson pushed on the crowd ahead, raising his sword.

"Can't you just give me something to numb it! They can't go in their without some help!" He tried to fight her at first. Then when the pain was finally to much he let her take him to a rock. He laid against it. He hoped that they were skilled enough to take it down.
