Hatter, Adviser, Madman Carrol was still fuming when only a few minutes later, the voice of a woman cut through the air, and like ice, seemed to immediately cool his bottled wrath. Wheeling on his heel, he faced her with a sudden gasp of surprise, straightening his coat and stepping backwards a couple of times as he righted himself. "Ah Kiyoshi, so that's his name. The boy refused to give me his after I gave him mine." Carroll smiled. His shift in temper wasn't perfect, but it would fare him well enough. "And no, I'm not. Not only did I only meet this 'Kiyoshi' after he was imprisoned. And even then, I'm not a Shinigami." He spoke nothing but the truth, provided half of his sentence was based on technicalities. Deciding to try something, he started his explanation, but in English, much like he had asked Kiyoshi the very first question of their game. "A Shinigami miss, is one who is employed as a soldier of the Gotei. I am not a soldier, and as such, not a Shinigami." Technicalities again, but the truth. And if she could understand even the most basic format of English, his thoughts on how intelligent Kiyoshi's 'family' was would be furthered. As for the blood and violence part well.... while she may have spoke of peace talks, Carroll's eyes were roving over her body like a doctor, or more appropriately, a surgeon with malicious desire.
"That being said, I suppose I should actually state why I'm here. It's to help you free Kiyoshi." Carroll smiled, his eyes locked on hers as he spoke. "You see the man who brought him in did so under the pretense that the boy, and consequently two others associated with him, are ancient war machines hell bent on the destruction of everything. In other words, he wasn't believed and we have to release him to whoever wishes to claim him." This was, unlike the technical jargon earlier, a bold-faced lie. "But your words seem to suggest otherwise hm? Mayhaps you are as Kiyoshi said? He wanted free and was willing to, ah, exchange information for freedom. Oh how he loathed the cell he was in." Another of Carroll's lies, practices of a madman.

xxxRaven listened to him, slightly confused. Though when he switched to English, she didn't even bat an eye. She had seen many souls pass through in her time, some of them English. So she had learned the Dialect. The question was, should she play along, or lead him on? Deciding she wasn't to do to much deceiving, she listened until he was finished, then tried to figure out what was the truth and what was a lie. Deciding to play along, she just tilted her head. "If my Brother told you what you wanted to know, then you shouldn't have a problem releasing him into my care. He's my little Brother and he is being sorely missed by me and everyone else." She said as she wrapped her arms around each other, a slightly worried look to her eyes. Some of it she was faking. The other part of it she was being truthful. Hopefully she was being convincing enough. As long as she could get him to enter through her Enjitsu, she would be golden.

Hatter, Adviser, Madman "I never said he told us what we wanted to know. I said he would exchange freedom and information happily. What's the term they use..." Carroll tapped his chin as if in thought. "Oh yes, that he'd sell you out. My apologies, it was a phrase." He laughed "That being said, I can escort you to him to pick him up. He's being set free because none believe his captor, not because he talked, just keep that in mind." He wondered if the seeds of doubt would take root in her mind. She was a woman, and the Hatter's eyes ran over her body again. "If it makes you feel better, he did say he would resent himself over it all." He yawned, checking his watch, as if disinterested by the conversation. "Ah, yes, allow me to introduce myself, as I've forgotten my manners. You may call me as Kiyoshi did. I am called the Hatter, and you madam?" Carroll bowed low, his eyes still on hers, as if trying to worm into her brain and infect it with his madness.

xxxRaven listened to him, easily telling what he was trying to do. He was trying to get her to doubt Kiyoshi and sell him out. Or get herself captured in the process. She had lived to long to fall for that. But she decided to play along as her face got a slight annoyance to it, her body portraying the exact same thing. Which wasn't hard, since she saw he kept roaming his eyes over her body. "Did he now? Well, I'm just going to have to give him a stern talking-to when I get my hands on him. Families don't say anything about their family." She said with a slight frown crossing her features. She then heard him say his name and did a small curtsy. "Pleased to meet you Mister Hatter. Please. Call me Raven." She said, thinking it wise to not let him know who she was yet. She saw him keeping his eyes on her and did the same, that same look of annoyance on her features.

Hatter, Adviser, Madman "Well that should be relatively soon. I just need you to come and pick him up." He straightened himself up, eyes moving left and then right. This was feeling too easy. Kiyoshi, as she had called him, had been stubborn and violent. Sure he did "talk" to both Carroll and presumably Captain Ashura, but it wasn't without equal recompense. And both this girl, Raven, and him hadn't exactly stuttered when he had swapped to his natural tongue. Actually, he was at least enjoying speaking in English. So much so he'd keep it up. "Well lass, I'd have to say that's you're own problems to sort out, y'know, once you actually get to him, of course. But I feel we're being too careful here." The Hatter took a step closer, his eyes trying to lock on hers. "So tell ya what. If I show you mine, will you show me yours?" He asked, grinning in a semi-crazed fashion. If she had to ask, he had an answer ready. His following set of actions would be lies anyways. He was going to use intimidation tactics to try and scare out a truly honest response, if possible. Kiyoshi had been more resilient to them, if not angered, but he wondered if he couldn't scare the girl into submission with falsehoods. If she agreed, she'd get to meet his zanpakuto spirit. Oh what fun the Hatter was having! It was frightening, and made him feel quite alive.

xxxRaven heard what he had said and was confused. "To careful?" She asked before hearing his next statement, losing her composure as she became even more confused, her head tilting to the right as she raised an eyebrow. "Show you what Mister Hatter? I am afraid I am not following." She said as her eyes started to move around her seeing if anyone else had showed up. The longer they stood here the bigger a risk of her getting caught in a situation she didn't want to be in. Hopefully they could move this along soon and she could get him to come back to Yggdrasil. There, her and her siblings would have an advantage. And after they had long enough, she would send someone back to the World of the Living to Negotiate the trade for both prisoners. As long as Kiyoshi was unharmed, then this man would remain that way. But she somehow had to get him back to Yggdrasil fist.

Hatter, Adviser, Madman "Why, our secrets of course." He laughed, tilting backwards as it escalated into the maniacal kind of laughter. His arms hung by his sides, his coat threatening to slip off, and yet his hat remained perfectly where it was at, like some kind of being able to defy gravity. Leaning forwards again to face Raven, he clapped his hands, a kindly smile forming on his face as he closed his eyes. "So what do you say madam? Shall we at least trade one secret a piece. I wouldn't trust you as far as I could move your heart from your breast before you died." Carroll spoke, a drop of humor in his voice despite the obviously not-so-joking statement. He was dead serious. Why should they even trust each other if they wouldn't do something such as show a "secret." Of course, his secret would be false, but she didn't need to know that now did she?

xxxRaven looked at him a bit skeptically as he said that the were going to share a secret. She could always tell him something to ward him off of her trail. Possibly the easiest thing to do. After all, all she needed from him was a war prisoner for trade, She had a bad feeling they didn't have much time left. Her leaders instinct was screaming that something terrible was happening to Kiyoshi, and worse yet, another of her brothers was in danger. With that being the case, she gave nothing away as she shrugged. "Alright. You share yours first." She said before smirking at his comment. "Oh don't worry. At this point I wouldn't trust anyone associated with the Shinigami as far as I could lob their heads from their bodies before they gave the final death convulsion." She said as she smirked, a fang-like tooth showing briefly before it vanished as she waited for his answer.

Hatter, Adviser, Madman "I told you I'm not a Shinigami at all now didn't I?" Carroll chuckled, flashing her a dangerous smile. "I should warn you though, you may want to shield yourself. My intentions won't be to harm you, but what is to come is extremely hard to control." He added, stepping away. He frowned as he looked at her, wondering how experienced she was in Kido. If her skill was poor, he could easily play this trick off. If it was very good, he's be in a lot of trouble. He kept walking, heading down towards the ground below until his feet could be heard clicking on asphalt. "Heads down miss, and be careful." He warned her once again, the Hatter's reiastu spiking heavily as it cracked and crumpled the road beneath him. In the explosive display, powder kicked up from the rupturing littered the air around him, hiding Carroll from sight while sending his hat flying above the obscuring fog of sand and gravel. His Kido was cast while this cloud covered him, rendering his body invisible and ideally, his presence untraceable, which is what he needed. As the fog began to fade, his Spirit took its spot. His "one true friend" and zanpakuto spirit, Kyofu, would be his saving grace. It had his own twisted image, standing nearly twice Carroll's height. His right eye cried blood while the left corner of his mouth had a similar trail, eyes dark and malicious. Reaching up into the air, the first thing that could be seen was Kyofu's hand snatching the hat and placing it atop its head as it stepped into view. It unleashed a maddening laugh before Carroll spoke, playing it off on his own "true" form. "Hheheheh here's my secret, my secret. Quite the terror aren't I?" he asked, Kyofu twisting its head nearly upside down as the Hatter questioned Raven, awaiting a response before he continued to speak.

xxxRaven saw what he was doing and looked at him confused as he kicked up the cloud of dust. What she saw come out of it though floored her to the spot, her eyes opening up wide as she started to lightly shake. "W-What the hell?" She asked as she looked at him with slight terror in her eyes. She was having trouble think before something knocked sense back into her brain. It was her youngest brother. She found herself able to breathe again as she looked up, trying to decide where her brother was. Realizing that she had looked away from the apparition, she turned back to him and looked around. It was then she noticed the slight shimmer in the air around the creature. It was then it donned on her. "Ahh~. Nice try Mr. Hatter. But you see, no Kido is perfect. I can see you hanging around that thing. What is it? Your Zanpaktou Spirit? Or some type of other creature?" She asked, completely sure of herself, an air of confidence surrounding her again. She was lucky that Xamthos had done what he had done. Otherwise she might not have noticed. She would have to thank her baby brother after she made sure he was alright.

Hatter, Adviser, Madman The Hatter smiled. It seemed his strategy was a success. The girl was indeed scared, and that was what he needed. But it seemed he hadn't truly convinced her. She called him out on it, a Kido and his Spirit. She was right, and it seemed she was thinking she was, but the Hatter wouldn't let her think so. "I did not expect my form to be so vicious that you would refuse to believe it." He chuckled, Kyofu leaning back its head to finish the statement with a cackle. "Perhaps showing you something else might convince you this is no spirit nor trick." As the spirit strode forward towards Raven, its features began to change. At first they were very subtle, but rapidly grew to be more noticeable. The hair was darkening taking on a bluish hue. His clothing was tightening and fading to white and his eyes, as the glasses broke away, became a fiery orange. If it wasn't for the head being sideways and one eye being closed for some reason, that and the extremely thin body parts, it would have been the spitting image of Raven herself. "Or perhaps you don't enjoy this view? I know!" The hatter laughed, joined by Kyofu. "How about you're precious little brother?" The spirit raised its arms, it's clothing darkening a bit, getting thicker while the hair retracted and became lighter. His eyes turned to deep blue and in short order, the distorted image of Kiyoshi was before Raven. Blood ran from his lips and there was a large hole over his heart, staining the rest of his coat a purple in color, teardrops of crimson hanging in his eyes. "Well, whaddya say? Should I stop giving you proof now so you can take your turn?"

xxxRaven had gathered herself and looked more disgusted as the thing first changed in to her, then changed into her Younger Brother. With a disgusted look, she pointed her finger at the creature. "Sho." She said as a small amount of Reiatsu came out of her finger to push the creature back away from her. Moving quickly, she appeared to where she was seeing the ripple. "Enough of the games. That was just sick and disgusting. If you are just going to joke around with me, then I am done." She said before turning on her heel. She stalked away a few paces before stopping and crossing her arms, glaring back at him. She'd share a secret alright. After she got done burning him into a crisp in her dragon form. She hated to think that her poor little brother might be suffering now. She was about ready to take this person by force. She needed t save her little brother.

Hatter, Adviser, Madman "So ya found me out." Carroll shrugged, the being vanishing. "Alright, let's go get your brother then shall we?" He came back into view, yawning and checking his pocket watch. According to it, the time was early, summoning a frown from him. "Just give me some time to open a Senkaimon and be on our way. And don't look at me like you wanna kill me. You know that was funny." he chuckled, to himself mostly. "So he said siblings. I take it that means there's more of you?" He asked in hindsight. He figured he'd go ahead and ask. There would be a very brief period in which to try and casually extract information before he tried to incarcerate her. Might as well use it.

xxxRaven sighed in delight as he stopped messing around. She stretched and turned back around giving him a skeptic look. "Your sense of humor must be different from mine then. Though it is a nice trick." She said complimenting him some. Might as still try and win him over some right? She then heard him mention something about a Senkaimon and saw her chance. She shook her head. "No need for that Mr. Hatter. We have our own way of getting around, and it's much faster. Almost like teleporting. We could even save time by you helping me get right to Kiyoshi. What do you say?" She said as she took her personal victory. This couldn't be more perfect. If he went along, she'd just take him strait to Yggdrasil without having to harm him. She could get one of her siblings to stay behind to deliver the message about it after they noticed he had gone, and then they would be set to get Kiyoshi back. Ever second she waited, she became more worried about her siblings. She was distracted with her thoughts before she heard him speak up again. "In a manner of speaking yes. None of us are really related. We were born to the same group for a purpose. After a while, we just started to consider each other family. There are more of us then are around right now. I'm not sure where the others are yet." She mused as she thought about it. Including herself, there were only Five of the Katena awake right now. There were still Six missing. She started to wonder if she just couldn't feel where they were, or if they were being slow in waking up.

Hatter, Adviser, Madman Carroll thought for a moment and shook his head. "I'm going to have to decline. Not because I don't trust you, but because going directly to him would be impossible." He countered with a playful wag of his finger. "On top of that, even though I was ordered to find someone to come and get Kiyoshi, me alone does not grant you access to him. We'd have to pass all sorts of invasive checkpoints." He added on, seeming conflicted. "Eh it's a huge pain really, especially since I can't get my own home made tea in there. But if you could simply put us outside the Rukongai that would work. Y'see, I shouldn't really be here as is, I simply came on a hunch. I could get in trouble bringing you along." He sighed, looking up at the clouds. "So I think your way of travel would be definitely better. That was, if I trusted you. You haven't given me a reason to, so I'd appreciate it if you spilled everything Kiyoshi didn't want to say." His gaze came back down to earth, looking her directly in the eyes with all the seriousness the madman could muster.
