Midnight ran on despite their tailing guests. When they got home, she looked to her sister. "Keep them out here until I can get things under control, it looks like he's gotten upstairs." She said, heading up a kind of ladder made of cut logs wide enough for hooves. The sisters lived in a strange home, a small house on the ground that branched into many more structures in the trees connected by swinging bridges. One of these was currently shaking violently due to the creature inside, and it was to this one Midnight hurried. Upon entering from a , she found said creature making quite a mess, though rather than raging like one would assume, it seemed to be chasing something. It was a Barghest, a large black dog that seemed to be made of smoke with a fire that shone through its eyes, overly large claws, and a mouth full of nothing but enormous fangs. This one however was but a pup, and thus roughly the same size as Midnight rather than towering over her like its adult counterparts. She slammed the trapdoor shut as it pounced towards her, still in pursuit of something. When it crashed into the wall with a snarl, she flung the door open and hauled herself through it. "WHAT are you doing up here!?" she exclaimed, and the beast skid to a halt, crouching where it was and lowering it's head as she marched over to it."Yeah, look at you! You know you aren't allowed up here! What if you'd broken through a wall with your horseplay or something!? You'd have fallen all the way to the ground and been very hurt!" She exclaimed, standing before the subdued pup. She sighed then and looked around to see what had him so worked up. She spotted it in a corner, a very frightened sparrow that had gotten in. She looked at him. "Really? A bird?" She said, then shook her head. Her horn lit with a white-blue magic that engulfed the pup and lifted it off of the ground and to her face. "We have guests tonight, so no more of this, got it?" She asked. The only response she got was a bright red tongue up her face that left her fur steaming. "...That'll do." She said, and headed down the steps, the Barghest floating down after her. She looked to where her sister stood with the others. "I'm sorry for the wait guys, I-" She began, but was cut off by furious barking as the Barghest began to kick and struggle against her magic. She turned to look at him. "What did I just say?" She said quietly, and he calmed down once more, allowing his legs to hang limply. "Let me make Koli comfortable and I'll be right up! Please make yourselves comfortable in the meantime, there are oatcakes in the kitchen!" She called, heading into the lower part of their home.

Starlit led them inside after her sister, but turned to go up a flight of stairs rather than out the back. "Oh, quite a while, I was still just a very little filly when we came, just out of diapers. Of course, then it was just the little house we came into. Midnight added on an addition when I got bigger and we just kind of went from there." She said, leading them into a nice sitting room. "Would you like something to eat or drink while we wait for my sister? Koli tends to be very rambunctious when he first wakes up, but if she can get him distracted enough, he'll be no trouble. Everyone else is outside or downstairs." She said, smiling politely in the doorway as she awaited an answer.

"Oh, not very often. Usually only if we need something." Starlit called as she set to making the tea. "Most everything we can get here in the forest, but occasionally there are things we simply have to buy." It wasn't long until the young unicorn trotted back into the room, a tray with a somewhat elegant tea set floating before her. She placed it on the table between them and sat herself down. Three of the four cups were full of tea, the other brought just in case Chen changed his mind. "This trip we needed a few more bottles and nipples. Koli destroyed our last three in his nursing. Thank Celestia it didn't take too terribly long after Midnight found him until it was time for him to be weaned, she received a few awful burns from his sudden burps while feeding him." Starlit explained, shaking her head. "Of course, it was nowhere near as bad as the teething. That was...well anyways, what brings you two so far out this way? Most ponies avoid the Everfree Forest like the plague." She said as Midnight made her way into the room, smoking a tad and with a few streaks of soot on her face roughly in the shape of a large tongue. Koli followed after her at a contented trot, a rather large clump of faux fur clamped in his jaws that must have once been a stuffed toy. He held it as he went to each of their two guests to sniff and scope them out. "Sorry, I would have left him downstairs while you two were here, but he seemed intent on coming up and if I would have made him stay, he would have wailed the entire time loud enough to wake the dead." She said, watching him closely until he laid down, carefully placing the 'toy' between his enormous paws and laying his head on it.
